What Is Vouch Insurance?
How Vouch’s brokerage works, what changed with Corix, and what to know about coverage, costs, applications and claims.
Vouch is a business insurance broker and risk advisor for growing companies. Its customers include startups and established businesses in technology, healthcare and life sciences, professional services, and financial services. Buyers can start an application online and work with advisors to arrange coverage. 1,6,7
For a founder or finance team, that can mean arranging directors and officers insurance for a funding round, reviewing a customer’s insurance requirements, or requesting proof of an existing policy. 7 19 20
Pros And Cons
Pros
- Carrier choice with an advisor's explanation. Vouch describes bringing multiple carrier options into one platform and explaining differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and price. This can make a proposal easier to assess than a list of premiums alone. 8
- Support for common startup milestones. Its technology practice covers needs such as D&O for fundraising, cyber and technology E&O. Advisors also review insurance clauses in customer contracts, leases and funding agreements. 7 19
- Policy administration across insurers. Vouch describes coordinating documents and renewal cycles, alongside account-based certificate requests. This is useful operational support when a business has several policies with different carriers. 8 20
- Claims advocacy is a documented service. Vouch advertises a dedicated advocate at no cost to clients, with help reporting claims, collecting documents and communicating with insurers. The service is described separately from the insurer's coverage decision. 23 24
Cons
- The Vouch name no longer identifies one underwriting arrangement. Corix became part of Hiscox while Vouch remained a broker, and an older Corix disclosure still describes the previous ownership. Buyers need to identify the current program and issuing insurer on each proposal. 11 13
- Some Corix liability options put defense costs inside the limit. The public cyber/E&O and management-liability applications describe claims-made coverage and defense costs reducing available limits unless endorsed otherwise. The full policy is needed to assess reporting conditions and the protection left after legal costs. 15 27
- Payment method can add cost. Vouch may pass through card or ACH transaction charges and offers premium financing through a separate provider. Buyers need an itemized payment proposal to compare the total cost with wire, check or other available arrangements. 2
- Multi-carrier access does not guarantee comparable quotes. The public materials do not promise a fixed number of insurer offers, and product availability varies by state and business. A quoted Corix feature cannot be assumed to apply to another carrier's policy. 8 3
How It Works

Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 6

Starting an application with Vouch
Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 8
Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 7,9
Before committing to a contract start date, ask for written confirmation of the insurer, selected coverage, effective date and any remaining binding conditions. 9
Vouch, Corix And The Insurers
Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 2,8
Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 12,2,3
What Changed With Hiscox
Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 10,11
Hiscox describes Corix as a managing general agent: a business that performs underwriting and arranges insurance through a program. That role is distinct from Vouch’s current brokerage role and from the insurer that issues a policy. The transaction should not be read as an acquisition of the entire Vouch brokerage. 11 10 13
Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 13,11
Which Insurer Is Behind A Policy?
Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 13
A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 15
For that application, defense spending can use up money otherwise available for a settlement. It also makes the timing of a claim relevant, rather than only when the underlying work occurred. Ask for the full reporting conditions, any retroactive date and the applicable endorsements; the application is not the complete insurance contract. 15
Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 27
The practical question is which program and insurer Vouch is proposing for each coverage line. A Hiscox distribution relationship does not establish that every Vouch policy is issued by a Hiscox insurer, and a Corix product description does not establish the terms of a policy from another market. Vouch’s current materials explicitly describe access to multiple carriers. 10 8
Coverage And Availability
Vouch lists technology errors and omissions, cyber liability, directors and officers, general liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability, key person, crime, product liability and umbrella coverage for technology companies. The list describes options, not a package that automatically includes every line. 7

Vouch’s coverage options for technology companies
Corix’s other documented programs include management liability with directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary options, and a commercial package with general liability, property, hired and non-owned auto, and employee benefits liability options. 16,17
If a Corix program is proposed, its product pages give you specific wording to check:
Corix’s cyber/E&O page describes system-failure business interruption and a form combining professional and technology E&O. It also warns that social engineering, AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can have conditions, sublimits or exclusions. 14
Corix’s management liability page describes an option to use defense counsel outside its panel, subject to conditions such as sharing costs. Crisis-management expenses have sublimits, and pre-claim assistance is an optional extension with its own terms. 16
Ask which modules and extensions have actually been selected and how the wording applies to your operations. 14 16 17
The reviewed Vouch pages and Corix materials did not establish a complete current policy form, endorsement set or insurer-by-product schedule for a new Vouch buyer. Ask for those documents with the proposal, especially when a quoted policy comes from a different insurer or program. 3,8,14,16,17,15,27
Vouch publishes a property and casualty agency-license table covering all 50 states and Washington, D.C., plus a separate surplus-lines table. This is Vouch’s reported license list, not an independently confirmed license census or a map of product availability. Its terms say products vary by state and business. 4,3,5
Service And Compensation
Reviews, Certificates And Renewals
Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 18,19
Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 20,21
For example, sending a customer a certificate and extending additional-insured rights to that customer are different tasks. Ask Vouch to check the underlying endorsement when a contract requests coverage for another party. 21
Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 8,22
If the renewal proposal changes insurers or programs, compare the new terms with the expiring policy, including continuity for earlier work or decisions. Vouch’s renewal guidance specifically calls out retroactive dates, exclusions and material changes in the business. 22
How Vouch Gets Paid
Vouch Specialty earns commissions on insurance sales and may also receive compensation based on the performance of the products sold. Its disclosure invites questions about compensation on a specific proposal or placement; it does not publish a commission percentage. 2
Vouch may pass through credit-card, debit-card or ACH transaction fees where permitted. Its disclosure lists wire and check as alternatives and says premium financing may be offered through Slash Eureka, Inc., doing business as Ascend, or an affiliate. 2
Request the total payable amount, with premium, taxes, broker or service fees, payment charges and any financing cost itemized. The payment disclosure does not give transaction-fee amounts or financing rates, so an advertised premium is insufficient to compare payment options. 2
Claims Assistance
Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 23,24

Vouch’s claims advocacy service
Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 25,26,24
What To Confirm In A Quote
Use the proposal to resolve the points that the public materials leave open:
- Placement and insurer: which policies use Corix and which use other markets? Get each issuing insurer’s legal name, the product’s state availability and any admitted or surplus-lines designation. If a contract requires a financial-strength rating, verify the exact insurer and current rating rather than relying on the Vouch or Hiscox brand. 13 8
- Forms and selected modules: request the policy forms and endorsements, selected coverage parts, limits, retentions and exclusions. For Corix cyber/E&O, check how defense expenses affect limits and how the policy treats your technology, AI use and professional services. 15 14
- Start and renewal dates: obtain binding confirmation and the effective date, plus any outstanding payment or underwriting conditions. When switching programs, ask how prior acts and reporting deadlines are handled. 9 22
- Contract documents: separate the certificate request from any change to the policy. Confirm additional-insured wording and the timing of any required endorsement. 21
- Compensation and payment: ask for commissions, any performance compensation relevant to the placement, all customer-paid fees and the full cost of installments or financing. 2
- Claims and ongoing service: identify your service contact, the insurer’s notice requirements, any administrator or cyber-response provider, and how Vouch will help if coverage is disputed. Confirm who owns the renewal timetable across multiple carriers. 24 8
