Gallagher vs Vouch

Compare Gallagher and Vouch for technology insurance without confusing Vouch brokerage with the Corix businesses acquired by Hiscox.

Introduction

A technology company shopping D&O and cyber needs to know whether it is comparing brokers or particular insurance programs. Gallagher and Vouch both market technology brokerage, but Vouch’s history includes separate underwriting businesses that should not be conflated with its current broker. Start with the named producer and the actual proposed insurer, then compare how the team explains the choices. 2 20 15

Key Differences Between Gallagher and Vouch

Keep the Current Brokerage Separate from Corix

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 25,15,16

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 23,24

Hiscox’s transaction therefore does not make Hiscox the parent of Vouch Specialty Insurance Services. Gallagher’s inclusion of former Woodruff Sawyer is a different corporate history, not a parallel reason to assign an insurer to every Gallagher quote. Each proposal should identify the producer and underwriting entity on its own terms. 23 1 5

Compare Explanations of Actual Carrier Options

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 21

Gallagher’s executive-risk practice describes considering insurer qualifications and client preferences when selecting potential underwriters. Ask both teams to explain the material exclusions and endorsements in the options actually offered, rather than using catalogue size as a measure of the market search. 3

Corix applications cited in Vouch’s record are program-specific evidence, not universal Vouch policy forms. A proposed policy from another market needs its own wording review. 28 21

Scope Contract Review and Claims Advocacy

Vouch advertises a complimentary coverage review, contract-requirement review and no-cost claims advocacy for clients. Gallagher describes executive-risk claims specialists and technology tools. Compare who reviews an enterprise customer’s requirements, who requests policy changes and who assists with a dispute; the service descriptions do not establish legal representation or claim outcomes. 31 32 36 3 2

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Name the producer, insurer and program; do not substitute “Vouch,” “Corix” or a group owner for the issuing entity.
  • Which exclusions and coverage differences did the advisor identify among the actual quotes?
  • Is contract review included, and who secures required endorsements before a certificate is delivered?
  • Obtain California eligibility and policy-specific claims contacts, including the incident hotline for cyber.

Service Comparison

Gallagher vs Vouch: documented services and availability

CriteriaGallagherVouch
Business role

Gallagher arranges business insurance and provides risk-management and employee-benefits consulting. Its technology practice serves startups through global enterprises. 2,3

Woodruff Sawyer is now part of Gallagher. Gallagher’s transition page retains access to Woodruff Sawyer client portals. 1

Gallagher Small Business identifies Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, LLC as its insurance-brokerage service provider. The exact producer for a former Woodruff Sawyer account should be confirmed in the engagement documents. 5,1

Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 15,21

Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 23,24

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 26,24

Access to insurers

Gallagher describes access to multiple insurance markets. Its executive-risk practice says it considers carrier qualifications and client preferences when selecting potential underwriters; these pages do not identify the insurer that would write a specific startup’s policy. 6,3

Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 26

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 40

Application process

The small-business quote link opens an advisor inquiry form asking for company and contact details, business description, coverage interests, employee count and annual revenue. Telephone and scheduled-advisor contact are also offered. This observed entry point does not establish instant binding or a turnaround time. 8,9

Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 19

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 21

Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 20,22

Servicing and renewals

Gallagher describes Go for client information and self-service, Submit for submission tracking and documents, and Verify for certificate management. Confirm which tools and service team your engagement includes. 2

For former Woodruff Sawyer clients, Gallagher links WS Connect for benefits and documents, Woodruff360 for policies, claim submission and certificates, and CSR 24 for certificates and auto ID cards. 1

Gallagher’s casualty practice describes pre-renewal meetings involving finance, HR, operations and risk-management stakeholders, alongside contract reviews and coverage-gap analysis. Confirm the renewal timetable and deliverables for your account. 10

Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 31,32

Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 33,34

Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 21,35

Claims assistance

Gallagher’s executive-risk practice describes a dedicated claims-advocacy team, including specialized attorneys, working with clients and carriers through claims. This establishes a stated support service, not a guarantee of payment or evidence of claims-handling quality. 3

Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 36,37

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 38,39,37
