Amelia Risk vs Vouch

Compare a connected-product company’s inventory needs with technology policy and customer-contract review.

Introduction

A connected-product company can face both a recall and a customer claim that its software failed. Amelia Risk markets programs for technology and consumer-product businesses. Vouch lists technology coverage options and offers reviews of insurance requirements in customer and funding agreements. Compare how each proposal connects the physical product, software obligations and the documents a customer expects. 7 8 35 47

Listed products and programs, including policies arranged through insurers or partners. Optional endorsements are discussed in the analysis below. “Not listed” means no separate offering appears in the reviewed catalogue; confirm availability and policy terms with the provider.

Key Differences Between Amelia Risk and Vouch

Physical and Digital Risks Need a Shared Submission

Amelia explicitly discusses stock throughput and product recall alongside technology E&O. Vouch's technology list includes product liability, Tech E&O, cyber and management coverage. These catalogues do not establish which insurer accepts a hybrid business or how exclusions divide a single incident across policies. Provide the same product description and revenue split to both brokers before comparing their recommended structure. 11 12 17 35

Contract Review Should Lead to Specific Changes

Vouch describes reviewing insurance requirements and explaining differences among carrier options, including endorsements and exclusions. Amelia describes reading policies, negotiating terms and maintaining programs as clients grow. Ask each team to identify which requirements need an actual policy change and which are satisfied by existing insurance. A certificate request alone should not substitute for that decision. 47 36 49 20

Use the Current Brokerage and Policy Identities

Vouch's current producer is Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC. It is distinct from Corix Insurance Services and the insurance-company business involved in the Hiscox transaction; that transaction does not make Hiscox the owner of the current Vouch brokerage or the issuer of every Vouch placement. Amelia's public pages do not name its proposed insurers. In both cases, compare the actual legal issuer and form on the quote. 30 38 39 4

What to Confirm in Quotes

Request written treatment of product defects, software failure, recalled stock and contractual liability. Ask which customer clauses require endorsements, the insurer for each line and California availability. Agree on how business changes reach the broker and how an event involving both cyber and product allegations should be reported to the relevant insurers.

Service Comparison

Amelia Risk vs Vouch: documented services and availability

CriteriaAmelia RiskVouch
Business role

Amelia Risk presents itself as an independent, women-owned insurance brokerage—not as an insurer. It says it identifies a company’s risks, discusses insurance products, represents the buyer to insurers, and recommends a program. The official pages reviewed do not name a licensed producer entity suffix, license number, or NPN. 1,2,4,20,19

Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 30,36

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 40,30,31

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 38,39

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 41,39

Customer focus

Amelia Risk says it is a women-owned and operated insurance brokerage in San Francisco whose team works with startups and high-growth companies. Its specialty pages address startups, better-for-you food, beverage and cosmetic (CPG) companies, technology businesses (including software, hardware, robotics, AI, autonomous-vehicle software, and life sciences), and consumer-product or accessible-luxury brands. A company-hosted podcast transcript describes a primary CPG focus and work with higher-risk product categories such as baby food, skincare, and dietary supplements. Public pages do not state minimum revenue, headcount, or funding-stage eligibility. 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,22

Vouch is a business insurance broker and risk advisor for growing companies. Its customers include startups and established businesses in technology, healthcare and life sciences, professional services, and financial services. Buyers can start an application online and work with advisors to arrange coverage. 29,34,35

Application process

New business starts with a conversation or website contact form, not a public self-service binder. Amelia Risk describes four steps: understand the company and gather information; represent the buyer to insurers; review quotes and a recommendation with the client; then the client decides how to proceed. About copy says the firm will not ask clients to complete multiple PDFs or Word documents only to print, sign, and scan them back. A company-hosted interview describes D&O underwriting as possibly a matter of days or a few weeks with completed information, with a two-to-three-week comfortable budget—an illustrative timing comment, not a binding SLA. No public quote calculator or specimen application was found. 4,18,2,5,20,22

Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 34

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 36

Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 35,37

Coverage lines

Amelia Risk publishes an Insurance Policies catalogue covering general liability and umbrella or excess, stock throughput (cargo), product recall, directors and officers (D&O), employment practices liability (EPL), workers compensation, cyber, and technology errors and omissions (Tech E&O). Specialty pages also list product liability, fiduciary liability, professional liability, a businessowner’s policy (BOP) with property, general liability, and hired and non-owned auto, owned and hired/non-owned auto, and employee crime as policies those clients should consider. Those labels are the firm’s marketed placement topics; they are not specimen forms, and they do not establish that every line is available to every applicant. 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,5,6,7,8

Vouch lists technology errors and omissions, cyber liability, directors and officers, general liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability, key person, crime, product liability and umbrella coverage for technology companies. The list describes options, not a package that automatically includes every line. 35

A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 43

Corix’s other documented programs include management liability with directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary options, and a commercial package with general liability, property, hired and non-owned auto, and employee benefits liability options. 44,45

The reviewed Vouch pages and Corix materials did not establish a complete current policy form, endorsement set or insurer-by-product schedule for a new Vouch buyer. Ask for those documents with the proposal, especially when a quoted policy comes from a different insurer or program. 31,36,42,44,45,43,55

Corix’s cyber/E&O page describes system-failure business interruption and a form combining professional and technology E&O. It also warns that social engineering, AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can have conditions, sublimits or exclusions. 42

Corix’s management liability page describes an option to use defense counsel outside its panel, subject to conditions such as sharing costs. Crisis-management expenses have sublimits, and pre-claim assistance is an optional extension with its own terms. 44

Access to insurers

Amelia Risk says it represents clients to the dozens of insurance companies with which it works and that its vertical focus supports relationships with underwriters, wholesale brokers, and carrier partners. The reviewed pages do not name those insurers, rating agencies, or program administrators, and they do not publish appointment lists. 4,2,21

Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 41

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 55
