Mylo vs
Vouch
Mylo and Vouch overlap in healthcare insurance but emphasize different questions about clinical work, technology and ongoing brokerage service.
Introduction
Mylo is a small-business insurance broker whose offerings include medical malpractice and cyber. Vouch is a broker and risk advisor with a healthcare and life-sciences practice addressing clinical, technology and operational exposures. A medical business considering a new digital service has a useful question for both: who will reconcile the malpractice, cyber and professional-liability policies as the work changes? 1 9 49

Key Differences Between Mylo and Vouch
Clinical Work and Software Work
A medical practice adding an online service for patients has two kinds of work to describe. Mylo’s malpractice page distinguishes claims-made and occurrence policies and separately discusses cyber. Vouch’s healthcare catalogue includes medical malpractice, professional liability and cyber, while its healthcare discussion recognizes the overlap between clinical and technology exposures. Both therefore offer relevant starting points; the distinction is the actual program each proposes, not a presumption that a general small-business broker cannot handle healthcare. 9 49
Describe who provides clinical care, who operates the software, what patient information the system stores and which entities sign customer or partner agreements. Ask both brokers to map those activities to proposed policy definitions. A malpractice policy label does not answer whether a software-service allegation is covered, and a cyber label does not establish protection for clinical decisions. The expansion is a reason to request that mapping, not a prediction about a claim. 9 49
Mylo markets small-group benefits to employers with 2–99 employees, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, accident and critical-illness options. It describes online or phone enrollment, a year-round HR portal and help from a licensed benefits advisor. 14
For a practice hiring at the same time, that employee-count scope sets a concrete boundary for evaluating benefits alongside liability insurance. Vouch’s reviewed healthcare page addresses the business’s insurance program; ask what benefits work, if any, belongs in its engagement instead of inferring it from the healthcare industry label. 14 49
Prior Care and Policy Continuity
For medical professionals, Mylo markets claims-made and occurrence malpractice policies and says tail coverage can extend reporting under a claims-made policy. Its page treats cyber liability as separate coverage to add rather than a protection supplied by malpractice insurance alone. 9
For a practice changing carriers, ask how earlier clinical work and later-reported claims are treated. Mylo’s discussion of tail coverage—an extension of the reporting period under a claims-made policy—makes this a specific comparison point. Vouch’s renewal guidance also calls for checking retroactive dates, exclusions and changes in business activities. Request a written comparison of the expiring and proposed terms rather than cancelling the old policy based on a new quote. 9 42
Vouch’s historical connection with Corix does not resolve that comparison. Vouch Specialty is the current disclosed broker; Corix is a separate program business acquired by Hiscox. If Vouch proposes a Corix policy, ask for that program’s actual forms. If it proposes another carrier, Corix’s public application or coverage highlights cannot establish the offered terms. Mylo’s carrier-panel names similarly do not identify the insurer for a particular medical specialty. 22 30 31 28 1
Partner Agreements and Ongoing Service
Vouch explicitly offers review of insurance requirements in business agreements and describes coordinating documents and renewals across carriers. For the expanding practice, ask it to review the insurance section of the proposed digital-service agreement and identify which requirements need a coverage change. Its service description is a useful scope to evaluate, not proof that the contract will be satisfied. 39 28
Mylo’s documented starting point is coverage advice and market shopping, with carrier-specific service contacts after purchase. Ask which advisor will own the same agreement review and whether the proposed insurers can supply the necessary endorsements. That resolves a service question the public directory leaves open without assuming Mylo lacks the capability. 1 4
A partner may need proof of insurance, but a certificate and a policy amendment do different jobs. Vouch’s certificate guidance separates certificate holders from additional insureds. Ask both brokers for the relevant issued endorsement when rights for another party are required, together with the effective date and any charge. Do not treat an account-generated certificate as evidence that unfamiliar wording has been accepted. 41 3
Coordination Cost and Claims Help
Mylo says carrier commissions usually pay for its service and discloses a customer fee in certain billing arrangements. Vouch discloses commissions, possible performance compensation, payment charges and financing arrangements. A healthcare business comparing several policies should request a complete program cost with any tail or extended-reporting option shown separately, rather than comparing the lowest monthly amount. 2 9 22
For an incident involving both patient information and clinical care, the reporting plan also deserves coordination. Mylo publishes insurer contacts; Vouch offers claims advocacy and distinguishes its help from the insurer’s decision. Ask which notices go to which insurers and who will coordinate the broker’s follow-up. Neither advocacy nor a reporting link proves that multiple policies respond to the same event. 4 43 44
What to Confirm in Quotes
- An activity-to-policy map: identify clinical care, software services, patient data and insured entities, with the proposed malpractice, professional-liability and cyber forms. 9 49
- A continuity comparison: request prior-acts dates, reporting conditions, available tail terms and the effect of changing insurer or program. 9 42
- A marked-up insurance requirement: ask who reviews the partner agreement and supplies any required endorsement, beyond issuing a certificate. 4 39 41
- A service and payment schedule: separate benefits work, liability placement, ongoing review, transaction charges and claim-notice responsibilities. 14 2 22 44
Service Comparison
Mylo vs Vouch: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Mylo | Vouch |
|---|---|---|
| Application process | A business buyer can answer questions about the company and industry online or work by phone with a licensed advisor. Mylo says its system recommends coverage and compares available quotes; some carrier and coverage combinations can be purchased online, but an agent finalizes the policy in most cases. 1,3 Mylo’s Terms of Use say a purchase may carry additional transaction terms, require accurate and complete application answers and is not guaranteed to result in an issued policy. The posted site terms were last updated in November 2018, so buyers should review the current terms presented with a quote. 3 | Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 26 Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 28 Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 27,29 |
| Access to insurers | Mylo says its commercial brokerage works with more than 40 carrier partners and names Travelers, Liberty Mutual, The Hartford and Hiscox as examples. That panel does not establish which insurers will consider or quote a particular business. 1,4 Mylo’s public pages do not provide a complete product-and-state schedule of issuing insurers. The carrier contact directory names companies used for some customers, but the legal insurer for each proposed policy must be confirmed in the quote and policy documents. 1,4,3 | Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 33 Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 47 |
| Servicing and renewals | The reviewed public pages identify Mylo advisors, a service-professional fallback and a benefits HR portal, but do not establish one universal workflow for commercial policy changes, certificates, renewals or cancellations across carriers. 1,4,14 | Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 38,39 Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 40,41 Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 28,42 |
| Fees and compensation | Mylo says its guided shopping service is free and that 95% of customers do not pay Mylo a fee when purchasing. It generally earns a carrier commission; in fewer than 5% of transactions, it says it charges a fee when it handles billing and incurs higher administrative costs. The reviewed disclosure does not give the fee amount. 2 | Vouch Specialty earns commissions on insurance sales and may also receive compensation based on the performance of the products sold. Its disclosure invites questions about compensation on a specific proposal or placement; it does not publish a commission percentage. 22 Vouch may pass through credit-card, debit-card or ACH transaction fees where permitted. Its disclosure lists wire and check as alternatives and says premium financing may be offered through Slash Eureka, Inc., doing business as Ascend, or an affiliate. 22 |
| Claims assistance | Mylo publishes carrier-specific support and claims contacts and directs customers to the insurer for many service needs. If a carrier is not listed, the page gives a Mylo Service Professional number; it does not promise that Mylo decides or pays claims. 4 | Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 43,44 Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 45,46,44 |
