Corgi vs Vouch

Compare Corgi’s startup packages with Vouch’s multi-carrier technology brokerage when a software company adds implementation services and reviews renewal terms.

Introduction

Corgi and Vouch both address technology companies, including cyber, technology errors and omissions (E&O) and directors and officers (D&O) insurance. Corgi organizes its offering into startup packages placed through affiliated or partner insurers. 2 1 Vouch is a brokerage that describes bringing carrier options together with advisors who explain differences in terms and coordinate the resulting program. 29 24 30

A software company adding substantial implementation and consulting work needs to review the existing program against that change. A Corgi package and a Vouch-arranged proposal may overlap considerably, so the comparison needs to reach the insured-services definition, selected modules and continuity at renewal. A startup label or a list of carriers alone does not resolve those questions. 8 36 44

Where Each Provider Shines

Where Corgi Shines

  • Stage-based packages give technology startups a starting point from pre-seed through growth, with a custom option. 2,3,6,15
  • Corgi says customers can add or upgrade policies through its dashboard as funding, hiring and contract requirements change. 2,1

Where Vouch Shines

  • Vouch says its advisors explain carrier options side by side, including differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing. 30
  • Buyers can request a complimentary coverage review and reviews of insurance requirements in customer, lease and funding agreements. 40,41

Key Differences Between Corgi and Vouch

Software, Implementation Services and Program Identity

Corgi markets a Tech & AI Liability module for technology products and services. Vouch’s technology practice lists technology E&O and cyber, while its brokerage can compare different carrier options. For the software business, submit the implementation statement of work as well as the product description. Ask how the offered form treats a software error, negligent configuration and advice delivered by staff; those activities need not have identical treatment merely because one customer buys them together. 8 29 30

If Vouch proposes Corix, that program’s public cyber/E&O page describes a combined form for professional and technology wrongful acts and system-failure business interruption. It also qualifies professional activities, AI and intellectual-property disputes. That provides specific wording to request, not proof that every Vouch placement includes those features or that Corgi lacks comparable protection. Obtain the actual form and selected coverage parts from both providers. 36 8 1

Corix is a program business distinct from the current Vouch broker, Vouch Specialty Insurance Services. Hiscox’s materials describe the Corix transaction while Vouch remains a brokerage with a distribution relationship. An old Vouch-branded policy, a current Corix guide and a new Vouch proposal therefore should not be treated as the same contract. Identify the program and issuer on the proposed renewal before carrying over any assumption from the expiring policy. 24 34 32 33

Defense Costs, Limits and Counsel Selection

Corgi’s illustrative D&O summary puts defense expenses inside the limit. Corix’s public cyber/E&O and management applications also warn that defense costs reduce limits unless endorsed otherwise. These are different documents and lines, but together they show why a limit number is insufficient for this comparison. Request the defense-cost treatment for each actual policy, including the amount the company retains and whether related claims share a limit. Do not assign the Corix application terms to another Vouch carrier. 5 37 49

For a management proposal, Corix also describes an outside-panel defense-counsel option subject to conditions such as sharing costs, plus optional pre-claim assistance. If the company wants to use an existing lawyer, ask for that provision and any approval or cost-sharing terms. Put the same question to Corgi using its offered D&O wording. Neither a claims-support team nor an optional counsel feature establishes unrestricted choice of lawyer. 38 5 1

Contract Reviews, Retroactive Dates and Renewals

Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review and review of insurance requirements in customer, lease and funding agreements. Corgi describes specialist help and dashboard changes as a company grows. Ask for a written comparison of the implementation contract with the current and proposed policies: which requirements are already met, which require an endorsement and which require negotiation with the customer. A review service creates that task; its marketing does not demonstrate that every gap will be found. 40 41 2

Vouch says it coordinates renewals across carriers, and its preparation guide specifically calls attention to retroactive dates and business changes. If its market comparison leads to a new insurer—or the buyer chooses Corgi—request a continuity explanation for the earlier software and consulting work. Record the old and new reporting provisions and any required extended-reporting option before ending the prior policy. Corgi’s dashboard upgrade description does not by itself settle those replacement terms. 30 44 2 1

Compensation, Claims Advocacy and Insurer Status

Vouch discloses insurer commissions, possible performance-based compensation, payment transaction charges and premium financing through a separate provider. Corgi discloses potential commissions or fees and publishes illustrative startup ranges. Compare the same activities, forms, limits and annual term, then itemize payment and financing costs. A complimentary Vouch review does not make the resulting insurance purchase free of compensation or charges. 24 40 2 1

Vouch advertises claims advocacy without an additional charge to clients and separates advocacy from the insurer’s coverage and payment decisions. Corgi describes claims-team access and possible affiliated or third-party administration. For the implementation business, ask who coordinates a demand alleging both professional failure and a data incident, and where notices must go under each policy. These service descriptions provide questions for an engagement, not evidence of which company achieves better settlements. 45 46 1

A customer’s insurer requirement needs a separate check. If Corgi proposes Technology Risk Retention Group, it says TRRG has no AM Best rating and risk retention group policies lack state guaranty-fund protection; eligible admitted/partner alternatives are separately described. Vouch’s carrier options and Corix’s admitted/surplus-lines disclosures likewise require the exact issuer and status on the offered policy. Neither the Vouch nor Hiscox brand identifies every placement’s insurer. 1 20 35 30

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Which services and modules are insured? Match software, implementation, advice and AI activity to actual definitions and selected cyber/E&O/media parts. 8 36
  • What remains of each limit after legal costs? Obtain defense, retention and counsel-selection wording for the actual technology and management policies. 5 37 38
  • What changes at replacement? Identify the old and new insurer/program, retroactive dates, reporting provisions and the business changes submitted to underwriters. 44 1
  • Who handles a mixed allegation? Save notice routes, advocate/administrator responsibilities and the itemized placement and payment costs. 46 24 1

Service Comparison

Corgi vs Vouch: documented services and availability

CriteriaCorgiVouch
Customer focus

Corgi offers business insurance for technology companies and startups, with packages for pre-seed and seed, Series A, and growth-stage businesses, plus a custom option. 2,3,6,15

In August 2026, Corgi announced product filings for offices, retail, restaurants, personal services, self-storage, wholesalers, community associations, and small rental properties. Availability depends on the product and state. 9

Vouch is a business insurance broker and risk advisor for growing companies. Its customers include startups and established businesses in technology, healthcare and life sciences, professional services, and financial services. Buyers can start an application online and work with advisors to arrange coverage. 23,28,29

Coverage lines

Corgi’s startup packages combine general liability, directors and officers, technology errors and omissions, cyber, media, employment practices, fiduciary, and hired and non-owned auto coverage. Its technology offering includes a Tech & AI Liability module. 2,8,10

Corgi’s D&O page describes claims-made coverage for directors, officers, and the company under form CORG-DO-0100, issued by Technology Risk Retention Group. The example has defense costs within the policy limit and a $25,000 per-claim retention—the portion of a claim you pay. Your quote and policy set the actual terms. 5

Risk retention groups can write business liability insurance for their members. They cannot provide other types of insurance, such as property coverage, so a package with those products needs another insurer. 19,21

Vouch lists technology errors and omissions, cyber liability, directors and officers, general liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability, key person, crime, product liability and umbrella coverage for technology companies. The list describes options, not a package that automatically includes every line. 29

A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 37

Corix’s other documented programs include management liability with directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary options, and a commercial package with general liability, property, hired and non-owned auto, and employee benefits liability options. 38,39

The reviewed Vouch pages and Corix materials did not establish a complete current policy form, endorsement set or insurer-by-product schedule for a new Vouch buyer. Ask for those documents with the proposal, especially when a quoted policy comes from a different insurer or program. 25,30,36,38,39,37,49

Corix’s cyber/E&O page describes system-failure business interruption and a form combining professional and technology E&O. It also warns that social engineering, AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can have conditions, sublimits or exclusions. 36

Corix’s management liability page describes an option to use defense counsel outside its panel, subject to conditions such as sharing costs. Crisis-management expenses have sublimits, and pre-claim assistance is an optional extension with its own terms. 38

Application process

You can apply online or book a call with a Corgi specialist. Corgi says eligible applicants can get a quote in minutes and buy coverage the same day. Its disclosures describe both an issued-policy-and-payment condition and temporary coverage under a written binder. Confirm the applicable conditions and effective date in writing. 2,1

Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 28

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 30

Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 29,31

Fees and compensation

Corgi Insurance Services may receive commissions or fees from the insurer or the customer. You can ask for the type and amount of compensation on your policy. 1

Corgi lists typical annual prices of $2,000–$5,000 for eligible pre-seed and seed startups and $5,000–$15,000 for Series A companies. Your price depends on the business, state, coverage, limits, and other underwriting details. 2,6,7

Vouch Specialty earns commissions on insurance sales and may also receive compensation based on the performance of the products sold. Its disclosure invites questions about compensation on a specific proposal or placement; it does not publish a commission percentage. 24

Vouch may pass through credit-card, debit-card or ACH transaction fees where permitted. Its disclosure lists wire and check as alternatives and says premium financing may be offered through Slash Eureka, Inc., doing business as Ascend, or an affiliate. 24

Claims assistance

Corgi describes a claims team that helps with reporting an incident, documentation, legal coordination, and progress updates. An affiliated team or third-party administrator may handle the claim; the insurer named in the policy remains responsible for coverage decisions and payment. 1,2,12

Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 45,46

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 47,48,46
