Coalition vs Vouch

Compare Vouch’s technology brokerage and Corix relationship with Coalition’s cyber and Tech E&O products.

Introduction

A Vouch proposal and a Coalition quote may differ at more than one level: the advisor, the program and the issuing insurer. Vouch now identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services as its brokerage, while Corix identifies a different former Vouch entity. Coalition distributes its digital-risk products through appointed brokers. Before switching, determine exactly which part of the arrangement you intend to replace. 20 30 13

Key Differences Between Coalition and Vouch

Hiscox’s Transaction Does Not Make the Vouch Broker Its Subsidiary

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 28,29

The acquired program business and the current brokerage must remain distinct. A Corix application can help explain one available product, but cannot identify every insurer Vouch may propose. Coalition similarly distinguishes the CIS producer from its admitted insurer and non-admitted partners. Use the legal names on the proposal to identify a true policy alternative. 26 3

Selectable Modules Still Need Complete Wording

A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 33

Coalition describes combined Tech E&O/cyber, and Corix describes professional and technology E&O with qualifications around AI, social engineering and intellectual property. Ask how defense costs, selected modules and exclusions interact on the actual proposals. A public application is useful underwriting evidence but is not the full contract. 1 32

Contract Advice and Security Work Are Separate Services

Vouch offers reviews of customer, lease and funding insurance requirements and describes claims advocacy for clients. Coalition supplies Control monitoring and describes shared cyber/Tech E&O claims handling. The practical comparison is which advisor reviews the business contract, which team manages the technical incident and which insurer determines coverage. Neither service catalogue demonstrates a superior claim outcome. 37 41 8 1

What to Confirm in Quotes

Ask Vouch which insurer and program it is proposing and whether the Corix application is relevant to that offer. Obtain the full cyber/E&O endorsements, defense-cost treatment and current California eligibility. If changing brokers, establish the continuing certificate, renewal and incident contacts before moving the relationship. 26 22 38 11

Service Comparison

Coalition vs Vouch: documented services and availability

CriteriaCoalitionVouch
Business role

Coalition combines commercial insurance offerings with cyber risk-management services. In the United States, Coalition Insurance Solutions, Inc. (CIS) is the disclosed insurance producer and surplus lines broker; the issuing insurer is responsible for policy obligations. 2,7

Coalition lists CIS’s California producer and surplus lines license as 0L76155. This is a company disclosure; current license status has not been independently checked with the California regulator. 2

Coalition’s legal page identifies Coalition Incident Response, Inc., doing business as Coalition Security, or independent third parties as security-service providers. Coalition Security does not provide insurance. 2

Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 20,26

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 30,20,21

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 28,29

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 31,29

Access to insurers

Coalition identifies Coalition Insurance Company (NAIC 29530) for admitted cyber and describes CIS as acting for unaffiliated insurers on non-admitted placements. The reviewed sources do not assign a single insurer to every California Tech E&O quote; confirm the named carrier on the quote and policy. 3,2

Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 31

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 45

Servicing and renewals

Coalition describes Control policyholder features at no additional cost, including attack-surface monitoring, vendor-risk monitoring, vulnerability alerts and guidance. Login Security requires connecting a Microsoft or Google environment. Additional security products are promoted separately. 8

Coalition says cyber renewals begin 90 days before expiration and follow Automatic, Express or Standard paths based on the account. Express renewals require responses; Standard renewals require a bind order and updated signed application, with additional underwriting conditions for some accounts. Automatic renewal does not guarantee an unchanged premium. 15

Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 36,37

Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 38,39

Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 26,40

Claims assistance

Coalition describes in-house cyber claims triage and assistance attempting to recover stolen funds. Its Tech E&O page says the same claims team manages cyber and Tech E&O claims. These service descriptions do not establish response quality or payment of a particular loss. 9,1

Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 41,42

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 43,44,42
