Marsh vs
Vouch
Compare Marsh and Vouch on technology-program selection, market comparisons and the adviser’s role after binding.
Introduction
Marsh’s Technology Practice and Vouch’s technology brokerage both offer routes to arrange a growing company’s insurance. Vouch describes presenting carrier options with adviser explanations; Marsh describes selecting insurers and negotiating terms. The useful comparison is what each team will submit, recommend and service for this business, rather than the size of the catalogue behind either brand. 3 17 39 40

Key Differences Between Marsh and Vouch
Ask for the Market Comparison You Will Receive
Vouch says advisers explain differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing across carrier options. Marsh’s US guide describes quotation disclosure practices that vary by segment. Ask both for the proposed market approach and a comparison of material wording differences, including declined or unavailable options where relevant. Neither description promises that every insurer will be approached or that a fixed number will quote. 40 18
A Program Name Does Not Identify the Brokerage Owner
Vouch Specialty Insurance Services is the current brokerage entity and is distinct from the former Vouch Insurance Services business renamed Corix. Hiscox’s acquisition of Corix does not make it the parent of the Vouch brokerage. If a Vouch proposal includes Corix materials, identify the specific insurer and form rather than applying them to every Vouch placement. Marsh’s insurer selection likewise needs to appear in the proposal. 34 44 42 17
Contract and Claims Help Need Defined Boundaries
Vouch offers reviews of insurance requirements and describes claims advocacy at no cost to clients. Marsh markets claims preparation and negotiation. Ask what each team will do when a customer seeks revised wording or an insurer disputes a loss, including any separately engaged counsel. Claims assistance is not the same as insurer approval or free legal representation. 51 55 10
What to Confirm in Quotes
Request the producer, market submissions, California acceptance, insurer and complete proposed forms. Agree on renewal responsibilities and all remuneration, including transaction or financing costs. Vouch’s commission disclosure and Marsh’s engagement-specific compensation should be evaluated alongside the actual service scope. 34 54 18
Service Comparison
Marsh vs Vouch: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Marsh | Vouch |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | Marsh’s US compensation guide states that, as an insurance broker, Marsh’s role is to facilitate placement of insurance coverage on behalf of clients. The transparency page describes determining appropriate insurers and negotiating with those insurers. Marsh is not identified in these sources as the insurer that issues or pays the policy. 18,17,2 Current Marsh materials use more than one US legal name. The compensation guide (copyright 2024, Marsh LLC) refers to Marsh LLC and Marsh USA LLC entering client agreements. The transparency page instead names Marsh LLC and Marsh USA Inc. Marsh McLennan Agency is described as a wholly owned Marsh subsidiary. A 2006 California decision caption used MARSH USA, INC., dba MARSH RISK AND INSURANCE SERVICES, license 0437153. Confirm the exact contracting producer on the proposal and license documents; current California license status remains unverified. 18,17,19,20,1,31 | Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 34,40 Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 44,34,35 Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 42,43 Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 45,43 |
| Coverage lines | Marsh’s Cyber Insurance practice markets brokerage of cyber policies and related analytics products. Marsh McLennan Agency’s cyber page lists solution areas such as cybercrime, extortion and ransomware, media liability, network interruption and privacy regulatory defense costs. The Technology Practice’s data-center service describes programs that can include property damage, equipment breakdown, business interruption, cyber, general liability and surety for power and interconnection obligations. Stratus is marketed as an operational property exchange for digital infrastructure with potential access to up to $10 billion of property capacity on a single placement; at launch it is focused on property, with inland marine, cyber and casualty described as possible later lines. These are marketed capabilities, not a standard startup package or guaranteed limits. 8,24,4,5,3 Marsh’s Directors and Officers page offers D&O program design for public, private and non-profit companies. Its Employment Practices page offers EPLI, including endorsements described for firms with more than 4,000 employees and for midsize firms with 250 to 4,000 employees. Its Professional Liability page offers E&O risk-transfer design, including for technology businesses. MMA’s executive and professional liability practice lists D&O, E&O, EPL, commercial crime/fidelity, cyber, fiduciary, media, intellectual property and kidnap-and-ransom among policies it places. Endorsement headcount bands and product labels do not establish that a particular Bay Area company qualifies or that wording is equivalent across insurers. 11,12,13,25,14 MMA’s business-insurance hub links casualty, property, surety, cyber, executive and professional liability, international placements, captives and small-business programs. Its property page covers commercial property and builders’ risk. Its casualty page includes workers’ compensation. MMA and Marsh sites also market employee health and benefits consulting and placement. MMA’s compensation-guide landing page exists for 2026 but the PDF body was not fully extracted here. 23,26,27,28,29,18 | Vouch lists technology errors and omissions, cyber liability, directors and officers, general liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability, key person, crime, product liability and umbrella coverage for technology companies. The list describes options, not a package that automatically includes every line. 39 A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 47 Corix’s other documented programs include management liability with directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary options, and a commercial package with general liability, property, hired and non-owned auto, and employee benefits liability options. 48,49 The reviewed Vouch pages and Corix materials did not establish a complete current policy form, endorsement set or insurer-by-product schedule for a new Vouch buyer. Ask for those documents with the proposal, especially when a quoted policy comes from a different insurer or program. 35,40,46,48,49,47,59 Corix’s cyber/E&O page describes system-failure business interruption and a form combining professional and technology E&O. It also warns that social engineering, AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can have conditions, sublimits or exclusions. 46 Corix’s management liability page describes an option to use defense counsel outside its panel, subject to conditions such as sharing costs. Crisis-management expenses have sublimits, and pre-claim assistance is an optional extension with its own terms. 48 |
| Application process | The public Marsh path to speak with a broker is an inquiry, not an online bind. Contact pages ask you to choose an inquiry type, including a sales or RFP route. The business-inquiry page says to complete a form and that a representative will respond within 48 hours; it points existing-policy certificate, billing and policy questions elsewhere. The inquiry page does not display premiums or bind coverage. The 48-hour response time is a company statement, not a binding or service guarantee. 15,16,21 Marsh describes a broker-led placement: identifying insurers for the risk, negotiating coverage and price, and, in core US broking segments, disclosing quotes and premium indications received. It may share incumbent or competing insurer names, pricing objectives, expiring terms, or give an insurer a last look when it believes that is in the client’s interest or the client instructs it. Those market practices are disclosure statements, not a guaranteed outcome or turnaround. 18,17 | Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 38 Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 40 Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 39,41 |
| Access to insurers | Marsh and MMA describe access to multiple insurers rather than a single issuing carrier for all business. MMA says it works with a wide variety of carriers. Stratus is a prior-submit exchange in which participating insurers evaluate each risk individually; the page does not name those insurers. Marsh’s compensation and transparency pages say Marsh or affiliates may receive insurer consulting compensation and may own equity interests in certain insurers or reinsurers, with a list on the transparency site. Victor, an affiliated MGU and wholesale broker, is described as accessing markets retail Marsh US cannot offer directly; that path is documented for some programs and is not assumed for every placement. Ask for the issuing insurer, surplus-lines status and proposed forms on the quote. 23,5,17,18,19 | Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 45 Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 59 |
| Fees and compensation | Marsh’s US compensation guide says it may be paid by insurer retail commissions, client fees (often in a written Client Service Agreement, sometimes crediting commissions), wholesale commissions, insurer consulting compensation, supplemental commissions, compensation for facilities or other insurer arrangements, interest on premium accounts, and other benefits. Marsh says it does not accept contingent commissions on domestic placements for US clients in core broking operations, except for employee health and benefits or when acting as managing general agent or underwriting manager; Marsh McLennan Agency does accept contingent commissions. Standard public premium ranges or a startup fee schedule were not found. Request an account-specific disclosure of commissions, fees, contingent or supplemental amounts, premium finance charges and any affiliated-market compensation. 18,17,30 | Vouch Specialty earns commissions on insurance sales and may also receive compensation based on the performance of the products sold. Its disclosure invites questions about compensation on a specific proposal or placement; it does not publish a commission percentage. 34 Vouch may pass through credit-card, debit-card or ACH transaction fees where permitted. Its disclosure lists wire and check as alternatives and says premium financing may be offered through Slash Eureka, Inc., doing business as Ascend, or an affiliate. 34 |
