Embroker vs Resilience

Compare Embroker’s management-suite transition with a Resilience technology E&O placement when renewing a funded startup’s program.

Introduction

For a funded startup approaching renewal, a new management-liability suite can change more than the cyber premium. Embroker's EMIS brings several lines into one application, while Resilience provides a focused cyber and technology E&O comparison. Decide whether the task is replacing a technology policy or redesigning the management program before comparing totals. 9 29 30

Key Differences Between Embroker and Resilience

A Suite Transition Is a New Underwriting Decision

Embroker’s August 2026 Management Insurance Suite (EMIS) brings D&O, employment practices, fiduciary liability and, for eligible technology companies, Tech E&O/Cyber into one application. Buyers may select individual coverages or a bundle. 9

EMIS replaces the two previous management-liability offerings for new customers. Embroker says existing policyholders can continue renewing their legacy products; switching to EMIS requires a new-business application. 9

A legacy Embroker customer should ask what changes when moving to EMIS and which coverages can remain elsewhere. Resilience's technology E&O proposal would address a focused part of that decision; its catalogue does not establish a substitute for EMIS's D&O, employment-practices and fiduciary modules. A lower subtotal is not a comparable program price if those lines were removed. 9 27

Technology Appetite and IP Wording Need Separate Checks

Embroker's Access technology program specifies revenue and security-control criteria and excludes certain industries. Resilience states a different technology E&O revenue range. Have the broker assess the company's actual activities and revenue against the particular quote, especially if it develops AI or operates near an excluded industry. 11 30

Embroker’s retail Tech E&O page lists intellectual-property infringement, copyright and libel among exclusions, while its broker program advertises software-code infringement coverage. The public descriptions do not reconcile that difference; request the proposed form and endorsements for your activities. 12,11

That unresolved difference makes a form-level review more useful than comparing a generic E&O label. Ask for the wording applicable to software-code allegations and customer indemnities on both proposals; Resilience's product summary alone does not answer those questions. 30

A Higher Limit May Require Another Placement

The retail Tech E&O FAQ says Embroker’s excess product cannot sit above an Embroker primary policy. An Embroker primary buyer therefore needs a separate answer about how to obtain higher limits. 12

Resilience markets primary and excess technology E&O, but the public page does not establish compatibility with an Embroker primary. If the objective is only more limit, request confirmation of the underlying policy's acceptability before assuming that either company's excess product can supply the next layer. 13 30

Embroker's FAQ also warns that changing brokers can affect proprietary-product renewal access. Plan the servicing handoff with the proposed placement rather than cancelling an account first. Resilience's broker inquiry route does not resolve who will maintain the remaining Embroker policies. 4 31

What to Confirm in Quotes

Request a line-by-line expiring-to-proposed schedule: retained legacy policies, new EMIS modules, any separately placed Resilience policy and the broker servicing each. Obtain the applicable IP wording, prior-work terms and excess compatibility confirmation. Then identify the actual issuing entities and California product routes; Embroker's named program insurers and Resilience's Homeland alternatives are product-specific disclosures, not a universal insurer map. 9 11 13 28

Service Comparison

Embroker vs Resilience: documented services and availability

CriteriaEmbrokerResilience
Business role

Embroker Insurance Services LLC is the producer named in its public lawyers’ liability specimen. Florida’s corporate record lists Embroker, Inc. as the LLC’s authorized member. That identifies a corporate relationship, not the insurer on your policy. 15,7

Embroker distributes proprietary programs through its own channel and through other brokers using Embroker Access. Its terms also allow it to perform underwriting work for insurers under their guidelines; the issuing insurer bears the policy obligations. 10,2

The reviewed corporate record identifies Embroker, Inc. as an authorized member of the producer LLC; it does not establish Embroker, Inc.’s ultimate beneficial ownership. 7

Resilience combines cyber insurance and technology errors and omissions insurance with cybersecurity risk-management services. 27,29,30

Resilience identifies Ocrea Risk Services, LLC, doing business as Resilience Cyber Insurance Solutions, as its US insurance distributor and lists NPN 19169260. This company disclosure is not independent verification of a California license. 28

Customer focus

Embroker is a business insurance broker and online platform for buying and managing coverage. It serves funded startups, technology companies, law firms, investment firms and other professional-services businesses. You can apply online or get help arranging insurance from its brokers. 1,2,4

Resilience lists US technology E&O appetite of $25 million–$10 billion in revenue, including software, AI, hardware, technology services, data centers and telecommunications. Smaller startups should ask whether an exception is available. 30

Application process

The public quote-start screen asks for a company name and whether the company has a website. It links the terms and compensation disclosure before continuing. 26

An account alone does not appoint Embroker as your broker. Using its brokerage service requires a broker- or agent-of-record designation and exclusive work with Embroker for those services unless otherwise agreed. 2

An application may need additional underwriting information or be declined; a quote itself does not put insurance in force. 2

Resilience presents insurance to brokers through a dedicated broker page and offers a public contact route for product inquiries. The reviewed pages do not document an end-to-end self-service purchase or a guaranteed quote or binding time. 31,33

Access to insurers

Embroker names Everspan Indemnity Insurance Company as the insurer for EMIS and its excess Tech E&O/Cyber program. Its lawyers’ professional liability program names Everest National Insurance Company. These are product-specific relationships, not one carrier for the entire catalogue. 9,13,14,15

Resilience’s US disclosure names Homeland Insurance Company of New York or Homeland Insurance Company of Delaware as underwriting insurers. It does not specify which would issue a particular California quote. 28

Servicing and renewals

EMIS replaces the two previous management-liability offerings for new customers. Embroker says existing policyholders can continue renewing their legacy products; switching to EMIS requires a new-business application. 9

The FAQ describes downloadable policies and certificates for accounts where Embroker is the broker of record. Custom certificate wording may require a policy endorsement first. 4

Renewals vary: some policies renew through the insurer, while others need a fresh application and underwriting. Embroker describes reviewing the proposal, accepting it and paying or arranging financing; the new policy’s effective date controls when the renewal begins. 4

If you move to another broker, Embroker says you lose account-based certificate issuance and policy-change functions. A replacement broker outside Embroker Access may also be unable to renew proprietary products. 4

Resilience markets Edge for prioritizing security spending by estimated financial impact, and Arc for viewing cyber risk across multiple entities. These are risk-management services, not additional insurance coverage lines. 34,35

Resilience states that buying insurance is not tied to buying security services. Confirm which services are included in the proposed package and which require a separate agreement. 28

The current broker and product pages reviewed do not specify renewal documentation, a renewal price commitment or a standard servicing turnaround. 31,29,30
