How it works

Find out who placed your policy

Send your documents so your Spot team can record the named insured, the placing entity and the insurer. Foxquilt’s own pages give differing distribution scopes, so the paperwork decides.

Moving from Foxquilt

Foxquilt markets digital small-business insurance across North America through digital, agent and broker, and network channels. Customers can request and buy general liability and E&O online, with team assistance available. Its own pages give differing distribution scopes, so each quote should identify the placing entity and insurer.

Why businesses consider switching

  • 01

You bought quickly and want a second look

An online purchase is a fair place to start, and some owners later want a person to review it.

  • 02

    Your business added lines

Workers’ compensation, commercial auto or umbrella can appear as you hire and expand.

  • 03

A client wants a specific endorsement

Contract requirements sometimes need a form that a standard online policy doesn’t include.

  • 04

You operate across borders or states

A footprint that spans more than one jurisdiction can call for a broker who knows each.

How to switch without a gap

  • 01

    Confirm the term and renewal

Check the policy period in the documents emailed after purchase. Note how your policy renews.

  • 02

    Gather proposals ahead of time

Ask for quotes that match your current limits and retentions, so you can compare equal things.

  • 03

Bind the new policy, then cancel

Don’t stop the Foxquilt policy until the replacement is bound. A lease or client agreement can treat a gap as a breach.

  • 04

    Cancel through your original route

If you bought online, use your account or contact Foxquilt’s support. If an agent or broker placed it, ask them. Then send new certificates to those who need them.

Common questions

How do I tell who issued my Foxquilt policy?

Look at the policy documents for the insurer and the placing entity. Your Spot team records both, then compares new proposals with them.

Does my agent matter if I bought online?

If you bought online, there may be no agent; if you bought through one, they’re your first call. Either way, Spot works alongside brokers and agents and takes no commissions on premiums.

Is Spot part of Foxquilt?

No. Spot isn’t affiliated with Foxquilt, and we don’t represent it.

Can I switch if I only bought a few weeks ago?

You can ask Foxquilt about cancelling, but read the policy’s terms for any fees. Many people compare now and start the new policy when the first one ends, so nothing is paid twice.

Will I still have an online account?

Your Foxquilt account belongs to that policy. When you move, Spot keeps your new policies and certificates together in the Spot app.
