HUB International vs
Risklytics
How Risklytics’ application-preparation and technology E&O wording review differ from HUB International’s general technology brokerage when a company is worried about AI exclusions.
Introduction
Risklytics and HUB International can both be asked to place technology errors and omissions (E&O). Risklytics’ public pitch is specialty wording work—including artificial-intelligence (AI) exclusion review—and application drafting from a website. HUB’s pitch is a broad technology catalogue and local offices. Risklytics’ reviewed license table does not establish a California producer route; HUB’s San Francisco office pages do not name the California contracting entity. The buyer question is who will mark up the E&O form for model or agent exposures, and which licensed producer would place that paper in California. 46 39 40 10 1 5
Where Each Provider Shines
Where HUB International Shines
- HUB’s technology practice markets insurance and benefits programs to startups and software, hardware and digital-media companies, and says it currently insures more than 5,000 technology companies. 10
- HUB routes qualifying small commercial accounts to Insureon’s online quote and other business insurance to a HUB advisor or local office; there is no published self-serve bind path for mid-market programs on hubinternational.com. 8,11,12,13,10,6

Key Differences Between HUB International and Risklytics
Specialty Brokerage Versus Full-Service Brokerage
Risklytics describes itself as a commercial insurance brokerage; its legal disclosures identify Risklytics, Inc., dba Risklytics Insurance Services, as the producer, not the insurer. 40 41 HUB likewise markets brokerage of insurer-issued policies through licensed subsidiaries. 4 5
Risklytics publishes agency license identifiers and a state table that does not include California on the reviewed about page. HUB’s California Department of Insurance lookup for its retail producer was not completed in this research. A specialty website is not a completed license search. 40 49 38
Application Drafting
Risklytics says it prepares the application from your business description and website for your review. 39
HUB asks you to contact a broker or use Insureon; it does not publish the same “we draft from your website” workflow. 8
Wording Review for AI
Risklytics says it reviews technology E&O wording for AI exclusions before binding. 46
HUB lists professional liability and technology E&O without a published AI-exclusion markup service matching Risklytics’ product page. If wording review is why you called Risklytics, ask HUB what redline it will provide. 15
Fees
Risklytics publishes pricing-page fees. HUB publishes commissions and contingents without a public specialty-broker fee. 43 7

Service Comparison
HUB International vs Risklytics: documented services and availability
| Criteria | HUB International | Risklytics |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | HUB International Limited describes itself as a full-service insurance broker and financial-services firm. Its website terms say HUB’s subsidiaries are licensed as insurance brokers or agents in various U.S. states and Canadian provinces. The reviewed product pages market brokerage of policies issued by insurers, not HUB as a risk-bearing carrier for those policies. 4,5,9 HUB’s About Us timeline states that in 2022 it acquired Insureon for digital delivery of small-business commercial insurance. Insureon and TechInsurance say they are part of HUB; Insureon says it operates as a division of Specialty Program Group LLC, doing business as SPG Insurance Solutions. TechInsurance describes itself as part of Insureon rather than as a separate HUB retail office. 4,34,35,36,37 | Risklytics describes itself as a commercial insurance brokerage. Its current legal disclosures identify Risklytics, Inc., doing business as Risklytics Insurance Services, as the producer arranging coverage rather than the insurer. 40,41 |
| Application process | On hubinternational.com, commercial buyers are asked to contact a broker, connect with a specialist, or use Contact Us. Small-commercial inquiries meeting HUB’s stated size tests go to Insureon for an online quote. Product pages such as general liability, D&O, cyber and workers’ compensation use “Contact Us” or “Connect With a Broker” rather than an on-site bind flow. Privacy policy language refers to automation for insurance quoting, without documenting a public HUB retail e-commerce checkout for mid-market programs. 8,11,12,13,10,6 | Risklytics says it drafts an application using your description and public business information, including your website, for you to check and sign. It advertises Slack and email placement updates. The application-preparation process and its speed were not tested. 39 Risklytics says it reviews the application with you, approaches suitable insurers and reads quote wording before making a recommendation. Its FAQ says the insurer binds after you accept a quote; timing varies with the coverage and operation. 44 |
| Coverage lines | HUB publishes dedicated business-insurance product pages for, among other lines, general liability, commercial property, workers’ compensation, business owners policies, commercial auto (including hired and non-owned exposures and trucking), cyber, directors and officers, professional liability/E&O, crime, fiduciary liability, kidnap and ransom, surety bonds, medical malpractice, marine/inland marine and cargo, boiler and machinery/equipment breakdown, and mergers-and-acquisitions representations-and-warranties insurance. Its casualty page also lists product liability, umbrella and excess, and product-recall as program elements. Employee-benefits brokerage is marketed separately. Actual policy forms, limits and eligibility are not set by those marketing pages. 9,11,19,17,18,20,13,12,14,15,21,22,23,24,25,28,29,26,27,30,16 For technology companies, HUB lists professional liability/technology E&O, cyber, a patent package described as property, auto, liability and umbrella, international placements, cargo/stock throughput, property/builders risk, pollution liability, management liability including D&O, employment-practices liability, fiduciary liability, transactional/warranty insurance, crime, workers’ compensation, employee benefits, key-person life and disability, retirement solutions, and kidnap and ransom. 10 | Risklytics says it places general liability, technology errors and omissions (E&O), cyber, directors and officers, commercial property, inland marine equipment, workers’ compensation, umbrella, intellectual property and space insurance. These are advertised placement categories, not a single package or a guarantee of availability. 42 Risklytics says it reads technology E&O forms before binding and warns that AI exclusions can affect the result. Its product page is a general description, not a specimen policy or confirmation that a particular AI failure is covered. 46 The advertised IP line discusses both infringement defense and enforcement of owned rights. The space line discusses pre-launch hardware, launch, in-orbit risks and related liability. Neither description establishes that every component is included in a quoted policy. 47,48,42 |
| Availability | HUB says it has 700+ offices and 21,000+ employees across North America, with corporate headquarters in Chicago. It publishes a California office directory that includes two San Francisco addresses (201 Mission Street and 44 Montgomery Street). An office location is evidence of a local brokerage presence, not of admitted-product availability, surplus-lines use, or that a given coverage can be bound for a California-domiciled company. 4,3,1,2 HUB’s terms say subsidiaries are licensed as brokers or agents in various U.S. states, without naming the California entity for the San Francisco offices. Insureon publishes California license 0L09546 for Specialty Program Group LLC, dba SPG Insurance Solutions; that is Insureon’s disclosure, not an independent California Department of Insurance confirmation. The current license status of SPG and the producer for a HUB San Francisco engagement remain independently unverified. Confirm which entity will appear on the policy and any surplus-lines filing. 5,1,35,38 | Risklytics publishes agency NPN 22311838 and Massachusetts resident license 3004393145. Its state table, dated September 10, 2026, also lists Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Washington. These are company-reported identifiers, not independently verified licenses or product eligibility. 40 California is absent from the reviewed agency-license table. A California-authorized producer and product route remain unconfirmed in the reviewed disclosures; this does not establish that Risklytics cannot arrange California coverage. Confirm the responsible producer, authority and insurer for your operation before relying on a quote. 40,41,49 |
| Fees and compensation | HUB’s How We Get Paid page says it is compensated primarily through insurer-paid commissions included in premium, and also through contingent income, guaranteed supplemental commissions, and, on some complex programs, client-paid fees disclosed in a proposal, sometimes in addition to commission. It owns wholesale brokerages that may earn a second commission when HUB retail uses them. It may receive fees for de-identified data under insurer consulting agreements, premium-finance administration, interest on fiduciary accounts, and policy or claims administration. Strategic Carriers may pay enhanced compensation, part of which may incentivize employees to prioritize those markets. No schedule of commission percentages or standard fees is published. 7 | Risklytics advertises no application charge or additional brokerage fee, says carriers pay commission from premiums, and offers to disclose its earnings on request. Its terms separately allow carrier or wholesaler compensation and carrier-set taxes and policy fees. No buyer-specific premium or commission amount is published on the pricing page. 43,41 |
