Beazley vs Risklytics

Compare a named technology insurance product with Risklytics’ application preparation for robotics and autonomy businesses.

Introduction

A robotics startup may struggle to fit software, autonomous behavior and physical equipment into an insurer’s questionnaire. Risklytics says it prepares applications from a business description and public information for the applicant to review. Beazley’s MediaTech application asks directly about technology products and services. The decision is partly about who translates the operation into an underwriting submission, and partly about what the resulting policy actually covers. 21 2

Key Differences Between Beazley and Risklytics

Application Assistance Still Requires Founder Review

Risklytics describes reviewing the application with the buyer, approaching insurers and reading quote wording. Its focus includes robotics, autonomy and AI. That can frame the submission, but a website-derived description may need correction for prototypes, pilot deployments or activities not publicly announced. Compare the signed narrative with Beazley’s questions about services, revenues and business changes before authorizing a submission. 26 22 2

Risklytics identifies itself as the broker, with direct and wholesale submission routes, rather than an insurer. Its reviewed materials do not identify the actual markets for a California robotics account. Beazley is therefore a possible product discussion, not a demonstrated market within Risklytics’ access. 23 24 1

AI and IP Need More Than a Technology Label

Risklytics advertises technology E&O wording review for AI exclusions and a separate intellectual-property placement category. Beazley’s older MediaTech sample includes patent and product-related trade-secret restrictions. Ask whether the proposal addresses infringement defense, enforcement of owned rights or ordinary technology liability; those are not interchangeable just because a startup’s product contains AI. No current form from Risklytics’ proposed insurer is established in the reviewed public documentation. 28 24 29 3

The California Route Is an Unfinished Diligence Item

California is absent from Risklytics’ reviewed agency-license table. That omission does not prove coverage cannot be arranged, but the responsible California-authorized producer and product route remain unresolved. Beazley’s general availability disclosure also does not settle MediaTech acceptance. Obtain the producer and insurer names before relying on either path for a pilot contract. 22 31 5

Risklytics advertises no additional brokerage fee while allowing carrier or wholesaler compensation and policy charges in its terms. Its published contact target is not a dedicated claims commitment. Beazley supplies policy-first notice guidance; a brokerage engagement should explain how it assists with that reporting. 25 23 27 8

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Does the signed application describe prototypes, autonomy and physical deployment accurately? 21 2
  • Which California producer and insurer accept the operation, and what AI or IP restrictions remain? 22 28 3
  • What policy charges and post-loss broker assistance are included? 23 26 8

Service Comparison

Beazley vs Risklytics: documented services and availability

CriteriaBeazleyRisklytics
Business role

Beazley is a specialty insurance group operating through insurance companies and underwriting businesses. Its US disclosures distinguish the insurance entities from Beazley USA Services, Inc., which reports doing business in California as Beazley Insurance Services under license 0G55497. This is a company disclosure, not an independently verified license record. 5,6,7

Risklytics describes itself as a commercial insurance brokerage. Its current legal disclosures identify Risklytics, Inc., doing business as Risklytics Insurance Services, as the producer arranging coverage rather than the insurer. 22,23

Application process

Beazley describes MediaTech placement through third-party platforms or email. Its posted application requests the business’s services and products, employee count, US and non-US revenues, financial statements and expected business changes. A submitted application does not establish acceptance or an effective policy. 1,2

Risklytics says it drafts an application using your description and public business information, including your website, for you to check and sign. It advertises Slack and email placement updates. The application-preparation process and its speed were not tested. 21

Risklytics says it reviews the application with you, approaches suitable insurers and reads quote wording before making a recommendation. Its FAQ says the insurer binds after you accept a quote; timing varies with the coverage and operation. 26

Availability

The reviewed MediaTech product page, application and US legal disclosures do not establish a current California-specific MediaTech form, admitted or surplus-lines route, or applicant eligibility. A California trade-name and license disclosure alone does not answer those product questions. 1,2,5,6

Beazley says its M&A team can underwrite and place transactions in all 50 US states. That company-reported statement includes California for M&A, but does not establish MediaTech availability or acceptance of a particular transaction. 12

Risklytics publishes agency NPN 22311838 and Massachusetts resident license 3004393145. Its state table, dated September 10, 2026, also lists Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Washington. These are company-reported identifiers, not independently verified licenses or product eligibility. 22

California is absent from the reviewed agency-license table. A California-authorized producer and product route remain unconfirmed in the reviewed disclosures; this does not establish that Risklytics cannot arrange California coverage. Confirm the responsible producer, authority and insurer for your operation before relying on a quote. 22,23,31

Claims assistance

Beazley directs customers to check their policy’s notification instructions first. Its website provides a notice-of-loss form and a US claims email route. The existence of these channels does not establish claims-handling quality or a promise that a loss is covered. 8

A dedicated claims-reporting procedure or detailed broker claims-assistance commitment was not found in the reviewed terms, FAQ and contact page. The terms distinguish Risklytics from independent carriers and wholesalers and disclaim control over their claim handling. Ask for the policy’s reporting contact and the broker’s role after a loss. 23,26,27
