Evidence and Scope

Role: Hybrid provider. Scope: Beazley's US activity at the named-entity level: Beazley USA Services, Inc. as the US insurance-services and producer entity, and Beazley Insurance Company, Inc., Beazley America Insurance Company, Inc. and Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. as the US insurers named in the US terms and ratings table. Authority and authorisation are verified in Georgia, Texas, Pennsylvania and Colorado only. No Beazley US programme has an evidenced carrier or reinsurance panel: the reviewed material maps no product to an issuing entity, so capacity is assessed at entity authorisation level and no programme-level capacity claim is made. Beazley plc group evidence is contextual, and Lloyd's syndicate ratings are excluded from the US entity assessment.

Beazley plc publishes the group site, while US terms identify Beazley USA Services, Inc. and related insurance entities. Beazley's ratings table lists Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. and Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. as rated US entities; product and state issuer scope remains specific to the policy.[1][2][5]

The US terms of use settle the entity list: the web services are owned and operated by Beazley Insurance Company, Inc., Beazley USA Services, Inc., Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. and Beazley America Insurance Company, Inc., all four with a Connecticut principal place of business and Connecticut domicile, and only Beazley USA Services, Inc. carries a California insurance licence number in that table. The group annual report names Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. and Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. as Beazley's primary US carriers and subsidiaries of the US holding company, Beazley Holdings, Inc.[2][4]

Licensing

The US terms disclose California license 0G55497 for Beazley USA Services, Inc. The number is recorded as company-reported because current California authority was not independently established, and no national license list was established in the reviewed sources.[2][6]

Wisconsin regulator guidance identifies the relevant business-entity and company lookup paths; current Beazley authority was not independently established there.[7]

State records retrieved on 22 September 2026 establish current authority for all three US insurers and for the services entity, and show that the footing differs by state. Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. (NAIC 37540) is active in Georgia since 1980, Texas since 1981, Pennsylvania since 1983 and Colorado since 1995; Beazley America Insurance Company, Inc. (16510) in all four since 2020. Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. (17520) is recorded as a surplus-lines company in Pennsylvania and Colorado but as an accredited reinsurer in Texas, and returned no Georgia record. Beazley USA Services, Inc., NPN 7896601, holds an active Texas General Lines Agency licence 1635027, Surplus Lines Agency licence 1635030 and Property & Casualty Adjuster licence 1981226. These are four states out of fifty-one and no product is mapped to an entity by them.[8][9]

Financial Strength

Beazley's ratings page lists an A (Excellent) AM Best financial-strength rating and Class XV financial-size category for Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. and Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc.; it lists BESI with a Fitch financial-strength rating of A+ and issuer-default rating of A. These ratings are entity-specific disclosures but do not establish the issuer of every US product.[5]

Beazley plc's 2025 annual report reports an estimated group Solvency II coverage ratio of 281% at December 31, 2025. That group measure and the audited group accounts do not equal statutory capital or surplus for Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. or Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc.[4]

The group's own capital disclosure runs across two periods: estimated Solvency II coverage of 281% at 31 December 2025 against 264% a year earlier, on an internal model approved by the Central Bank of Ireland, with group profit before tax of $1,146.5m against $1,423.5m in 2024. Beazley states that this capitalisation is what secures the AM Best and Fitch ratings for its named US and Irish carriers. All of that is group-level and reported by Beazley: it is not statutory capital or surplus for Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. or Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc., and no US statutory annual statement for either was obtained. What is independently established for the US carriers is authorisation, not capital.[4][8]

Risk Bearing

US specialty pages describe coverage and placement paths. The named policy, not a product page, identifies the insurer. The reviewed sources do not disclose a complete product-by-state issuer map, capacity shares or reinsurance terms.[1][2]

Beazley's evidenced US risk-bearing structure is entity-level, not programme-level. Two admitted carriers and one surplus-lines carrier are authorised in the verified states, with Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance additionally recorded as an accredited reinsurer in Texas and a non-admitted reinsurer in Colorado. Nothing in the reviewed material assigns a product such as MediaTech or any other US small-business programme to a particular one of those carriers, in a particular state, and no reinsurance, fronting or capacity terms are disclosed for any programme. The Lloyd's syndicate ratings on the ratings page belong to syndicates 623, 2623, 3622 and 3623 and are not evidence that a US policy is written on syndicate paper.[8][5][1]

Claims Service

Beazley directs policyholders to submit a notice of loss and provides US claims contacts. This establishes a documented notice route; the policy and applicable claims administrator still determine the specific claims obligations and process.[3]

Responsibility for claims is traceable one step and no further. Beazley tells policyholders to check the policy first and gives claims@beazley.com as the US notice route, without a service commitment or a response time. Beazley USA Services, Inc. holds an active Texas Property & Casualty adjuster licence, which evidences in-house adjusting authority in Texas; no other state's adjusting authority is independently established, and no third-party administrator is named for any US programme.[3][9]

Regulatory Record

The reviewed sources establish entity and product disclosures but do not establish a completed five-year conduct result for each named Beazley US entity. Current restrictions, orders and complaints therefore remain unresolved research items rather than negative findings.[2][6][7]

Thirteen state company and agency records were retrieved on 22 September 2026 across the four US entities and none carries a restriction, suspension or adverse notation. A licence or authorisation status is not a conduct search, and no completed five-year conduct result exists for any named Beazley US entity.[8][9]

Evidence gaps

  • Independent confirmation of Beazley USA Services, Inc. California licence 0G55497; the state lookup could not be completed on 22 September 2026.
  • Current authority is not independently established for forty-seven jurisdictions for any Beazley entity, and no company-published national licence list exists.
  • US statutory financial statements, capital and surplus for Beazley Insurance Company, Inc., Beazley America Insurance Company, Inc. and Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. The 281% Solvency II figure and the profit-before-tax figures are group measures reported by Beazley plc.
  • A product-by-state map showing which Beazley US entity issues which programme. No reviewed source assigns any named product to an issuing carrier.
  • Reinsurance, fronting or capacity terms behind any Beazley US programme, including any intra-group reinsurance between the US carriers and the Lloyd's syndicates.
  • Rating action dates: the ratings page shows grades and outlooks but no effective dates, and AM Best's own site could not be opened.
  • No Georgia company record was returned for Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc.; its Georgia footing is unresolved rather than absent.
  • A defined five-year regulatory search for the named US entities.
