Wyoming inland marine insurance, including portable electronics
Wyoming's marine and transportation definition includes cargo incident to transit, including property being assembled or prepared for shipment or awaiting shipment, plus marine builder's risks and personal property floaters. The form-filing provision does not apply to surety bonds, specially rated inland marine risks, or unique forms designed for a particular risk. Separately, portable electronic device insurance is deemed to include inland marine for purposes of Title 26. 1,2

What to Watch for in Wyoming
Property Awaiting Shipment Is in the Marine Kind
W.S. 26-5-107(a) includes cargoes and other property incident to navigation, transit, or transportation, or while being assembled or prepared for or awaiting shipment, or during delays, storage, transshipment, or reshipment. It also includes a person or property in connection with marine, inland marine, transit, or transportation insurance. Ask whether goods sitting before a pickup are still 'awaiting shipment' on your form. 1
Specially Rated and Unique Forms Skip the Form Filing
W.S. 26-15-110, in the same Title 26 compilation, says the form-filing provision does not apply to surety bonds, to specially rated inland marine risks, or to unique forms designed for an individual risk. A standard equipment floater may still be filed. A manuscript form for one project may be the exception. Ask which one the quote uses. 1
Portable Electronic Device Insurance Is Deemed Inland Marine
W.S. 26-9-202(a)(xi) says portable electronic device insurance may cover repair or replacement for loss, theft, mechanical failure, malfunction, damage, or similar causes, and that for purposes of Title 26, property and casualty insurance shall be deemed to include inland marine insurance with respect to portable electronic device insurance. A phone-repair plan coded as inland marine is not a contractors' equipment floater. Ask the broker to keep those contracts separate. 2

Some records rely on company-reported information rather than independent regulator verification. A national listing does not confirm the product is available in Wyoming. Check the regulator’s license lookup and confirm state availability for your business when requesting a quote.
- TechInsuranceSpecialty Program Group LLCInsurance producer · checked 2026-09-28TechInsurance’s current licensing page names Specialty Program Group LLC / SPG Insurance Solutions and lists state license numbers, but labels Rhode Island “Individual licenses” rather than identifying a license for the named agency. RI is omitted because this disclosure does not establish agency authority there; this is a search limitation, not an assertion that the company is unlicensed. The remaining state entries are company-reported and are not an insurance product availability map. 13TechInsurance arranges inland marine coverage for contractors’ tools and equipment.
