Corgi vs Resilience

Compare Corgi’s startup packages with Resilience’s technology E&O appetite when a customer contract sets insurer requirements.

Introduction

A startup signing an enterprise customer may need both a larger liability limit and an insurer acceptable to that customer. Corgi organizes packages around startup stages, while Resilience publishes a revenue-based technology E&O appetite. The first decision is whether each can quote the actual business and contractual requirement, before comparing the convenience of buying. 2 26

Key Differences Between Corgi and Resilience

Funding Stage Is Not an Underwriting Threshold

Corgi offers business insurance for technology companies and startups, with packages for pre-seed and seed, Series A, and growth-stage businesses, plus a custom option. 2,3,6,15

Resilience lists US technology E&O appetite of $25 million–$10 billion in revenue, including software, AI, hardware, technology services, data centers and telecommunications. Smaller startups should ask whether an exception is available. 26

A newly funded company can still have little revenue. Ask Resilience about technology E&O eligibility at the company's current revenue, rather than treating a growth-stage label as an equivalent criterion. Corgi's package names are also positioning, not evidence that a particular startup has been accepted. This is especially consequential when the customer wants coverage before the new contract produces revenue. 2 26

Read the Insurer Requirement Before Choosing a Package

Corgi uses affiliated and partner insurers. Your policy names the insurer and claims administrator for your coverage. 1

Resilience’s US disclosure names Homeland Insurance Company of New York or Homeland Insurance Company of Delaware as underwriting insurers. It does not specify which would issue a particular California quote. 24

Corgi's record distinguishes its producer, Technology Risk Retention Group and its announced admitted carrier. Its description of an admitted alternative should not be used to label every Corgi quote admitted. For a contract with rating or admitted-insurer requirements, ask for the exact entity and written confirmation that the proposed placement meets the clause. Resilience's named US insurer alternatives likewise do not resolve its California product route. 1 9 24

Buying Speed and the Security Budget

Corgi describes online application and specialist-call paths; Resilience's documented route centers on brokers and product inquiries. Neither route makes a customer deadline proof that coverage is bound. Get the effective date and the conditions still outstanding in writing. 2 1 27 29

Resilience's Edge service addresses security spending, a separate decision from the insurance limit. Its disclaimer says purchasing security services is not tied to purchasing insurance. Corgi discloses possible producer fees or commissions; Resilience's reviewed pages do not disclose a standard schedule. Compare itemized proposals, without treating online distribution or an undisclosed fee as free. 30 24 1

The reviewed broker, contact, legal and product pages do not disclose a standard customer fee schedule or insurance commission rates. Request an itemized premium, taxes, placement fees and any separate security-service charges. 27,29,24,32,25,26

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Send the actual customer insurance clause and ask which issuing entity satisfies it, including any admitted-status or rating condition.
  • Confirm current-revenue eligibility, covered technology services and the requested limit before completing a lengthy submission.
  • Separate premium and producer compensation from optional security services, and obtain binding confirmation before representing that the contract requirement is met.

These requests follow the different package, insurer and distribution descriptions; none of the public pages resolves acceptance of your particular customer contract. 1 26 24

Service Comparison

Corgi vs Resilience: documented services and availability

CriteriaCorgiResilience
Customer focus

Corgi offers business insurance for technology companies and startups, with packages for pre-seed and seed, Series A, and growth-stage businesses, plus a custom option. 2,3,6,15

In August 2026, Corgi announced product filings for offices, retail, restaurants, personal services, self-storage, wholesalers, community associations, and small rental properties. Availability depends on the product and state. 9

Resilience lists US technology E&O appetite of $25 million–$10 billion in revenue, including software, AI, hardware, technology services, data centers and telecommunications. Smaller startups should ask whether an exception is available. 26

Access to insurers

Corgi uses affiliated and partner insurers. Your policy names the insurer and claims administrator for your coverage. 1

Technology Risk Retention Group, Inc. appears in the NAIC company listing as Arizona-domiciled property and casualty company code 17763 (listed as TECHNOLOGY RRG INC). Corgi’s disclaimers call TRRG the group’s primary underwriting entity and a risk retention group organized under the Liability Risk Retention Act. The same Carrier Financial Strength paragraph describes TRRG as federally chartered and operating under federal prudential oversight; that wording is company language and is not adopted here as a legal conclusion. 17,1,3,2,18,19

A risk retention group is a member-owned liability insurer licensed in its home state. Federal law lets it operate in other states through registration. Members must have similar or related business risks. 18,19,21

For customers who need an admitted insurer, Corgi says it can use affiliated or partner carriers rated A- or better by AM Best. Options depend on the state, coverage, and business. Eligible admitted policies may have state guaranty-association protection, subject to that state’s limits. 1,3,2,9

Corgi says Technology Risk Retention Group does not have an AM Best rating. A financial-strength rating and admitted status are separate things. 1,5

Corgi Insurance Company’s August 2026 launch announcement did not give a financial-strength rating or a complete list of licensed states. Confirm both if they are requirements for your business. 9,22

Policies issued by a risk retention group are not covered by state insurance guaranty funds. Corgi includes this notice for policies issued by Technology Risk Retention Group. 20,2,1

Corgi says its insurers may share risk with reinsurers, while the insurer on your policy remains responsible for claims. Its public disclosures do not name the current reinsurers or their contract terms. 1,14

Resilience’s US disclosure names Homeland Insurance Company of New York or Homeland Insurance Company of Delaware as underwriting insurers. It does not specify which would issue a particular California quote. 24

Application process

You can apply online or book a call with a Corgi specialist. Corgi says eligible applicants can get a quote in minutes and buy coverage the same day. Its disclosures describe both an issued-policy-and-payment condition and temporary coverage under a written binder. Confirm the applicable conditions and effective date in writing. 2,1

Resilience presents insurance to brokers through a dedicated broker page and offers a public contact route for product inquiries. The reviewed pages do not document an end-to-end self-service purchase or a guaranteed quote or binding time. 27,29

Fees and compensation

Corgi Insurance Services may receive commissions or fees from the insurer or the customer. You can ask for the type and amount of compensation on your policy. 1

Corgi lists typical annual prices of $2,000–$5,000 for eligible pre-seed and seed startups and $5,000–$15,000 for Series A companies. Your price depends on the business, state, coverage, limits, and other underwriting details. 2,6,7

The reviewed broker, contact, legal and product pages do not disclose a standard customer fee schedule or insurance commission rates. Request an itemized premium, taxes, placement fees and any separate security-service charges. 27,29,24,32,25,26
