Coalition vs Risklytics

Compare an integrated cyber and technology E&O offering with broader frontier-tech placement for an AI software business.

Introduction

An AI software company may need a combined cyber and technology E&O policy plus other business insurance. Coalition offers the specialist product and related cyber services through brokers; Risklytics describes arranging a broader frontier-tech program. The comparison should separate the choice of insurance product from the choice of the broker who will assemble and maintain the account. 1 13 22

Where Each Provider Shines

Where Coalition Shines

  • Combines Tech E&O and cyber coverage for technology businesses. 1
  • Control provides policyholders with monitoring, alerts and remediation guidance. 8

Where Risklytics Shines

  • Risklytics says it prepares the application from your business description and website for your review. 19
  • Risklytics says it reviews technology E&O wording for AI exclusions before binding. 26

Key Differences Between Coalition and Risklytics

Broker Access Comes Before a Product Comparison

Coalition directs buyers through appointed brokers and describes adding technology E&O within its cyber quote workflow. Risklytics' terms allow direct and wholesale market submissions, but the reviewed public documentation does not establish access to Coalition. Ask whether the proposed broker can obtain the desired program, and who handles lines outside it, before treating the names as mutually exclusive alternatives. 13 12 21

AI Coverage Needs an Insuring Agreement

Coalition maps AI-related losses to existing Active Cyber policy agreements and markets a Deepfake Response endorsement. This does not establish unrestricted AI-product liability. Risklytics' stated review of technology E&O exclusions is an advisory step, not a separate affirmative policy. Ask how each proposal treats the specific event—such as a product error, data disclosure or impersonation—rather than treating all AI risks as one category. 18 26

Ongoing Security and Brokerage Service Should Be Scoped Separately

Coalition describes Control monitoring and guidance, with some features requiring an environment connection and additional security products sold separately. Its legal page distinguishes Coalition Security from insurance providers. Risklytics describes continued broker involvement but not an equivalent documented security-service bundle. Evaluate data connections, service duties and incident contacts alongside coverage; security access is not a promise that a loss will be insured. 8 2 9 24

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Name the selected admitted or surplus-lines product and insurer. Coalition documents a California cyber route, but not automatic approval of every Tech E&O risk; Risklytics' California route remains unconfirmed. 10 11 20
  • Request the AI-related provisions, endorsements and exclusions applicable to your service rather than relying on an AI marketing page. 18 26
  • Specify optional security purchases, emergency notification and the broker's role coordinating other policies. 8 9 21

Service Comparison

Coalition vs Risklytics Insurance: documented services and availability

CriteriaCoalitionRisklytics
Business role

Coalition combines commercial insurance offerings with cyber risk-management services. In the United States, Coalition Insurance Solutions, Inc. (CIS) is the disclosed insurance producer and surplus lines broker; the issuing insurer is responsible for policy obligations. 2,7

Coalition lists CIS’s California producer and surplus lines license as 0L76155. This is a company disclosure; current license status has not been independently checked with the California regulator. 2

Coalition’s legal page identifies Coalition Incident Response, Inc., doing business as Coalition Security, or independent third parties as security-service providers. Coalition Security does not provide insurance. 2

Risklytics describes itself as a commercial insurance brokerage. Its current legal disclosures identify Risklytics, Inc., doing business as Risklytics Insurance Services, as the producer arranging coverage rather than the insurer. 20,21

Application process

Coalition directs buyers to an appointed insurance broker and offers help finding access if their broker does not offer Coalition. It describes underwriting that considers industry, finances, operations and security posture. 13

Coalition’s broker instructions describe adding Tech E&O during the cyber quote process, supplying a product or service description and answering contract-related questions. Some quotes require review before a price is released. 12

Risklytics says it drafts an application using your description and public business information, including your website, for you to check and sign. It advertises Slack and email placement updates. The application-preparation process and its speed were not tested. 19

Risklytics says it reviews the application with you, approaches suitable insurers and reads quote wording before making a recommendation. Its FAQ says the insurer binds after you accept a quote; timing varies with the coverage and operation. 24

Servicing and renewals

Coalition describes Control policyholder features at no additional cost, including attack-surface monitoring, vendor-risk monitoring, vulnerability alerts and guidance. Login Security requires connecting a Microsoft or Google environment. Additional security products are promoted separately. 8

Coalition says cyber renewals begin 90 days before expiration and follow Automatic, Express or Standard paths based on the account. Express renewals require responses; Standard renewals require a bind order and updated signed application, with additional underwriting conditions for some accounts. Automatic renewal does not guarantee an unchanged premium. 15

Risklytics says a broker remains on the account after placement and certificates can be issued against the binder. Its terms describe portal access to submissions, returned options and coverage records. The reviewed FAQ and contact page do not specify a renewal remarketing commitment or certificate turnaround guarantee. 24,21,25

Risklytics provides a contact form and email support, advertising an email response within a day. That is its stated response target, not a measured service result or emergency claims commitment. 25

Claims assistance

Coalition describes in-house cyber claims triage and assistance attempting to recover stolen funds. Its Tech E&O page says the same claims team manages cyber and Tech E&O claims. These service descriptions do not establish response quality or payment of a particular loss. 9,1

A dedicated claims-reporting procedure or detailed broker claims-assistance commitment was not found in the reviewed terms, FAQ and contact page. The terms distinguish Risklytics from independent carriers and wholesalers and disclaim control over their claim handling. Ask for the policy’s reporting contact and the broker’s role after a loss. 21,24,25

Availability

Coalition states that Executive Risks is available to private and nonprofit U.S. organizations in all states and Washington, D.C., with up to $500 million in assets, 1,000 employees and $500 million in plan assets, subject to limitations. 5

Coalition’s help center states that admitted and surplus cyber policies are offered in all 50 states and D.C., including California. Its product comparison lists Tech E&O and MPL under surplus coverage. This documents a California cyber placement route, but does not establish approval or the exact Tech E&O form for a particular applicant. 10,11

Risklytics publishes agency NPN 22311838 and Massachusetts resident license 3004393145. Its state table, dated September 10, 2026, also lists Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Washington. These are company-reported identifiers, not independently verified licenses or product eligibility. 20

California is absent from the reviewed agency-license table. A California-authorized producer and product route remain unconfirmed in the reviewed disclosures; this does not establish that Risklytics cannot arrange California coverage. Confirm the responsible producer, authority and insurer for your operation before relying on a quote. 20,21,29
