Beazley vs Embroker

Compare Beazley’s separate technology and management products with Embroker’s new EMIS application and legacy renewal choices.

Introduction

An existing Embroker customer considering a new program needs to distinguish renewal from replacement. Embroker says legacy management products can continue renewing, while moving to its new Management Insurance Suite (EMIS) requires a new-business application. Beazley’s MediaTech and Execuguard provide a different way to discuss technology and executive risks through separate products. The buyer question is how the replacement handles earlier work and existing liabilities. 29 1 10

Where Each Provider Shines

Where Beazley Shines

  • Technology E&O, media and cyber in one MediaTech form 1
  • Execuguard can separate or share executive-risk limits 10

Where Embroker Shines

  • Its Management Insurance Suite brings several management coverages into one application, with technology E&O/cyber for eligible technology businesses. 29
  • Separate technology and law-firm packages group coverage around those businesses’ activities, subject to the offered policy terms. 37,36

Key Differences Between Beazley and Embroker

Application Convenience Does Not Establish Continuity

EMIS brings D&O, employment practices, fiduciary and eligible technology E&O/cyber into one application. Embroker names Everspan Indemnity for that program. Beazley’s posted MediaTech application names BICI, while Execuguard has its own coverage structure. Compare the proposed declarations and effective dates line by line: one application does not necessarily mean one shared limit or unchanged coverage from the expiring program. 29 2 10

Beazley’s older sample includes retroactive-date restrictions. Embroker’s general renewal FAQ says some products require new underwriting. Ask for an explicit continuity explanation when replacing either program, including how a claim about work performed before the switch would be reported. Neither a familiar broker nor a new application proves that earlier work carries over. 3 24

Resolve AI and IP at the Form Level

Embroker’s retail technology page lists IP exclusions, while its broker materials advertise software-code infringement coverage. Its AI endorsement announcement also needs to be matched to the particular EMIS or legacy quote. Beazley’s February 2019 MediaTech sample contains patent and product-related trade-secret exclusions. These public materials do not support a blanket comparison of which company covers AI or IP more broadly. 32 31 38 3

Give both underwriters examples of the product output, licensed code and customer indemnities. Request the endorsement itself and identify which alleged act would trigger each coverage section. An advertised algorithm-removal expense benefit addresses a specific cost; it is not a substitute for reviewing liability protection. 38 2

Higher Limits and Broker Changes Are Separate Decisions

Embroker’s retail FAQ says its excess technology product cannot sit over an Embroker primary policy. Its broker FAQ also warns that leaving can affect account functions and access to renew proprietary products. Beazley’s small-business MediaTech limit and renewal form do not establish a ready-made solution to either issue. Ask how the full program will be placed and serviced before moving only one piece. 32 24 1 4

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Is this a legacy renewal, new EMIS application or new Beazley placement, and what changes in retroactive dates and reporting? 29 3
  • Which AI/IP endorsements apply to this product version, and how do they modify exclusions? 38 31 3
  • Who can place the needed excess and service the resulting program, with current California eligibility confirmed separately? 33 24 5

Service Comparison

Beazley vs Embroker: documented services and availability

CriteriaBeazleyEmbroker
Business role

Beazley is a specialty insurance group operating through insurance companies and underwriting businesses. Its US disclosures distinguish the insurance entities from Beazley USA Services, Inc., which reports doing business in California as Beazley Insurance Services under license 0G55497. This is a company disclosure, not an independently verified license record. 5,6,7

Embroker Insurance Services LLC is the producer named in its public lawyers’ liability specimen. Florida’s corporate record lists Embroker, Inc. as the LLC’s authorized member. That identifies a corporate relationship, not the insurer on your policy. 35,27

Embroker distributes proprietary programs through its own channel and through other brokers using Embroker Access. Its terms also allow it to perform underwriting work for insurers under their guidelines; the issuing insurer bears the policy obligations. 30,22

The reviewed corporate record identifies Embroker, Inc. as an authorized member of the producer LLC; it does not establish Embroker, Inc.’s ultimate beneficial ownership. 27

Access to insurers

The posted Digital Media Tech application names Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. Beazley’s broader disclosures also describe surplus-lines business through Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. or Beazley-managed Lloyd’s syndicates. The actual MediaTech insurer and California placement basis must be identified in the quote. 2,7

Embroker names Everspan Indemnity Insurance Company as the insurer for EMIS and its excess Tech E&O/Cyber program. Its lawyers’ professional liability program names Everest National Insurance Company. These are product-specific relationships, not one carrier for the entire catalogue. 29,33,34,35

Application process

Beazley describes MediaTech placement through third-party platforms or email. Its posted application requests the business’s services and products, employee count, US and non-US revenues, financial statements and expected business changes. A submitted application does not establish acceptance or an effective policy. 1,2

The public quote-start screen asks for a company name and whether the company has a website. It links the terms and compensation disclosure before continuing. 46

An account alone does not appoint Embroker as your broker. Using its brokerage service requires a broker- or agent-of-record designation and exclusive work with Embroker for those services unless otherwise agreed. 22

An application may need additional underwriting information or be declined; a quote itself does not put insurance in force. 22

Servicing and renewals

Beazley publishes a MediaTech renewal application. The reviewed renewal form and product page do not establish a guaranteed renewal, dedicated account manager, or turnaround commitment for policy changes. 4,1

Full Spectrum Cyber for small businesses combines Beazley Breach Response with security tools and services. Beazley describes incident-response coordination and discounted vendor services. Its myBeazley quote-and-bind route is for brokers handling accounts below $35 million in revenue and limits no higher than $5 million; these are cyber-route criteria, not MediaTech eligibility rules. 9

EMIS replaces the two previous management-liability offerings for new customers. Embroker says existing policyholders can continue renewing their legacy products; switching to EMIS requires a new-business application. 29

The FAQ describes downloadable policies and certificates for accounts where Embroker is the broker of record. Custom certificate wording may require a policy endorsement first. 24

Renewals vary: some policies renew through the insurer, while others need a fresh application and underwriting. Embroker describes reviewing the proposal, accepting it and paying or arranging financing; the new policy’s effective date controls when the renewal begins. 24

If you move to another broker, Embroker says you lose account-based certificate issuance and policy-change functions. A replacement broker outside Embroker Access may also be unable to renew proprietary products. 24
