Does EPLI Cover a Hostile Work Environment?

It may cover a hostile-work-environment allegation when the policy treats it as harassment or another covered employment practice.

Hostile-work-environment claims may be framed as harassment, discrimination, constructive discharge, or multiple allegations. Triple-I includes constructive discharge related to a hostile workplace in its wrongful-termination examples. A Travelers sample form defines workplace harassment as conduct creating an environment that interferes with work or is intimidating, hostile, or offensive. These references show possible coverage categories, not a guaranteed result for every dispute. The claimant, alleged basis, policy period, defense terms, exclusions, and applicable law still matter. Check whether the wording covers workplace harassment apart from sexual harassment, whether third-party allegations are endorsed, and how related claims are grouped or assigned to a policy period.
