Embroker vs RiskCube

Compare Embroker’s management suite and AI endorsement with RiskCube’s startup market search, including legacy renewals and higher-limit placements.

Introduction

A growing AI company renewing startup insurance may be comparing three things rather than two brands: its expiring policy, Embroker's newer management suite, and a market exercise through RiskCube. Embroker distributes proprietary programs as well as providing brokerage. RiskCube is a startup broker arranging third-party policies. A new application should therefore be evaluated for what changes in the insurance, not only how many forms it replaces. 10 9 30

Where Each Provider Shines

Where Embroker Shines

  • Its Management Insurance Suite brings several management coverages into one application, with technology E&O/cyber for eligible technology businesses. 9
  • Separate technology and law-firm packages group coverage around those businesses’ activities, subject to the offered policy terms. 17,16

Key Differences Between Embroker and RiskCube

A New Suite Is Not a Routine Renewal

Embroker’s August 2026 Management Insurance Suite (EMIS) brings D&O, employment practices, fiduciary liability and, for eligible technology companies, Tech E&O/Cyber into one application. Buyers may select individual coverages or a bundle. 9

EMIS replaces the two previous management-liability offerings for new customers. Embroker says existing policyholders can continue renewing their legacy products; switching to EMIS requires a new-business application. 9

RiskCube describes gathering the startup's product, revenue and contract information to compare insurers. Put the incumbent renewal alongside both new-business proposals and ask what happens to prior work, claims reporting and existing endorsements. Embroker's stated ability to renew legacy products does not make a migration to EMIS automatic, and a new broker's comparison does not establish continuity on its own. 33 32 9

AI Endorsements Need a Product Version

Embroker describes an AI endorsement for eligible technology E&O/cyber quotes, but its announcement references a Startup Program and leaves applicability to a particular EMIS or legacy quote to be confirmed. Its retail and broker pages also differ in their description of intellectual-property coverage. RiskCube markets AI liability and an excess response to AI gaps without a specimen or issuing insurer established in the shared research. Neither description justifies treating all AI-related IP or performance claims as covered. 18 12 11 31 33

Embroker's broker Tech E&O/Cyber appetite excludes crypto and blockchain businesses. RiskCube markets to Web3 as a customer segment, but that is not an insurer's acceptance of any particular blockchain activity. A company combining AI and digital assets should disclose both rather than obtaining a software quote on an incomplete description. 11 32

More Limit May Require Another Placement

Embroker's excess program requires qualifying underlying technology E&O and does not accept cyber-only primary coverage. Its retail FAQ says that excess product cannot sit above an Embroker primary. RiskCube's offered AI excess placement addresses a different stated problem: gaps in AI coverage. Additional limit and broader protection are separate objectives, and neither excess label establishes compatibility with the proposed underlying policy. 13 12 33

The Broker Change Can Affect Future Access

Embroker says moving to another broker removes account certificate and policy-change functions; a replacement broker outside Embroker Access may not be able to renew proprietary products. RiskCube describes its own policy-management platform, but that does not demonstrate access to Embroker's programs. Before appointing a new broker, identify who can service the existing term and obtain its next renewal. 4 27

Both compensation disclosures allow commissions and client fees, with RiskCube's fee-free marketing requiring clarification. Ask for the economics of retaining, migrating and remarketing the account separately; free software is not a complete statement of insurance costs. 3 29 27

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Is the Embroker option a legacy renewal or new EMIS application, and which AI endorsement version accompanies it? 9 18
  • How do the actual forms address software-code infringement, generated content and the company's disclosed AI or blockchain activities? 11 12 33
  • Will the proposed excess sit above the selected primary, and does it add limits, address a gap, or both? 13 33
  • Who retains access to proprietary renewals and policy changes after any broker-of-record transfer? 4 30

Service Comparison

Embroker vs RiskCube: documented services and availability

CriteriaEmbrokerRiskCube
Business role

Embroker Insurance Services LLC is the producer named in its public lawyers’ liability specimen. Florida’s corporate record lists Embroker, Inc. as the LLC’s authorized member. That identifies a corporate relationship, not the insurer on your policy. 15,7

Embroker distributes proprietary programs through its own channel and through other brokers using Embroker Access. Its terms also allow it to perform underwriting work for insurers under their guidelines; the issuing insurer bears the policy obligations. 10,2

The reviewed corporate record identifies Embroker, Inc. as an authorized member of the producer LLC; it does not establish Embroker, Inc.’s ultimate beneficial ownership. 7

RiskCube offers startup insurance brokerage through RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC. Its parent, RiskCube, Inc., supplies the platform and operational support; third-party insurers issue coverage. 30,29

Access to insurers

Embroker names Everspan Indemnity Insurance Company as the insurer for EMIS and its excess Tech E&O/Cyber program. Its lawyers’ professional liability program names Everest National Insurance Company. These are product-specific relationships, not one carrier for the entire catalogue. 9,13,14,15

RiskCube says it compares multiple insurers. Its terms permit placements through surplus-lines channels; the reviewed legal disclosures and catalogue do not identify the issuing insurer for a specific California applicant. 27,30,29,31

Application process

The public quote-start screen asks for a company name and whether the company has a website. It links the terms and compensation disclosure before continuing. 26

An account alone does not appoint Embroker as your broker. Using its brokerage service requires a broker- or agent-of-record designation and exclusive work with Embroker for those services unless otherwise agreed. 2

An application may need additional underwriting information or be declined; a quote itself does not put insurance in force. 2

RiskCube describes one digital intake followed by AI-assisted and broker-reviewed quote comparison and digital purchase. The public application URL reviewed displayed a contact form rather than a complete underwriting flow. 27,37

For technology E&O, RiskCube asks for product, customer, revenue and contract details, plus prior claims or known incidents. It qualifies its advertised quote timing by risk profile and underwriting complexity. 33

RiskCube’s terms say quotes are not binders: written confirmation from the insurer or its authorized representative and required conditions must be satisfied before coverage is bound. 30

Servicing and renewals

EMIS replaces the two previous management-liability offerings for new customers. Embroker says existing policyholders can continue renewing their legacy products; switching to EMIS requires a new-business application. 9

The FAQ describes downloadable policies and certificates for accounts where Embroker is the broker of record. Custom certificate wording may require a policy endorsement first. 4

Renewals vary: some policies renew through the insurer, while others need a fresh application and underwriting. Embroker describes reviewing the proposal, accepting it and paying or arranging financing; the new policy’s effective date controls when the renewal begins. 4

If you move to another broker, Embroker says you lose account-based certificate issuance and policy-change functions. A replacement broker outside Embroker Access may also be unable to renew proprietary products. 4

RiskCube describes platform access for policy management, certificate generation and renewal notifications. A certificate does not change coverage under its terms. 27,30

RiskCube says it reviews vendor insurance requirements and checks requested endorsements, including additional insured and waiver-of-subrogation language. Its terms warn that AI-assisted output can be incomplete or inaccurate. 32,30

Fees and compensation

Embroker’s software is free. Insurance services can generate insurer commissions, contingent compensation linked to business results, and supplemental commissions. Embroker may also negotiate client fees alongside or instead of commissions, approved before binding, usually in writing. 3

Payment processors and premium-finance lenders can add their own charges. Ask for the total cost and installment terms separately from Embroker’s compensation. 2

RiskCube’s homepage and FAQ advertise no added broker fees, but its compensation disclosure allows agreed service fees and payment-processing charges. It also describes insurer or intermediary commissions and possible performance incentives. The scope of the fee-free claim needs written clarification for the requested services. 27,32,29
