Coverdash vs
Relm Insurance
Compare online brokerage coordination with an AI specialty placement as contracts and renewals expand.
Introduction
An e-commerce company adding AI recommendations may want to keep its existing insurance in one account while investigating losses caused by the new dependency. Coverdash offers brokerage through its own site and embedded partner experiences; Relm offers specialty products through distribution partners. Choosing the servicing channel and choosing a particular AI policy are separate decisions. 8 9 30 36

Key Differences Between Coverdash and Relm Insurance
A Branded Checkout Does Not Identify the Insurer
Coverdash’s terms place the brokerage role with Coverdash Insurance Services, LLC, rather than the software or business hosting an embedded experience. Relm separates its Bermuda insurer from its US producer/MGA. If both names appear in a buying process, request a transaction map showing broker, intermediary and insurer; the reviewed public materials do not establish that Coverdash can place Relm. 2 9 29 30
Coverdash also requires a broker-of-record designation and describes exclusivity for its brokerage services unless otherwise agreed. That matters when asking another broker to investigate a specialist market. Clarify who is authorized to approach each insurer before duplicating submissions. 2
Customer Liability and an Upstream AI Failure
Coverdash markets technology E&O separately from cyber and says some, but not all, policies bundle them. Relm’s RESCAAI specifically addresses a business’s own losses involving third-party AI, with advertised interruption, response, reputational and recall benefits. A recommendation engine outage should therefore be described as an operational-loss scenario as well as a possible customer claim when requesting proposals. 17 22 36
That is a request for a wording comparison, not a finding that a Coverdash-arranged policy excludes AI. Its reviewed product pages lack insurer-specific specimen forms, and Relm’s marketing does not establish California availability or the issuer for the AI products. 3 2 33 29
Renewal Permission and the Cost of Convenience
Coverdash’s authorization permits certain automatic renewals with increases up to 20% when no material coverage term changes, and its compensation disclosure describes a nonrefundable Technology Access Fee without publishing the amount. Those terms deserve attention before adding policies to the account. They do not establish that Coverdash is more expensive than a Relm placement. 6 5
Relm’s reviewed public pages leave renewal responsibility and buyer-specific fees unspecified. Obtain a combined service and cost schedule if a specialist policy will sit alongside dashboard-managed coverage, including which party alerts you to changed AI exclusions at renewal. 40 38
What to Confirm in Quotes
- Which carrier form addresses interruption from the recommendation service, and does it require a security event rather than any operational failure? 22 36
- Can the appointed brokerage access the proposed Relm product in California, and who issues it? 2 29
- Reconcile Coverdash’s payment/binding descriptions, technology fee and renewal consent with the actual proposal before treating a payment or dashboard status as proof of coverage. 4 2 5 6
Service Comparison
Coverdash vs Relm Insurance: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Coverdash | Relm Insurance |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | Coverdash’s terms name Coverdash, Inc. and Coverdash Insurance Services, LLC; the LLC provides the insurance brokerage service. It arranges coverage with insurance companies and says it does not underwrite policies. 2 The reviewed corporate pages identify Coverdash, Inc. and Coverdash Insurance Services, LLC but do not establish their precise ownership relationship or a current controlling parent. 2,8 A partner can put Coverdash’s quote and policy-management experience inside its own website or software. Coverdash’s terms assign insurance solicitation and service to Coverdash rather than the host platform. 9,2 | Relm Insurance is a specialty insurance business serving emerging industries, including artificial intelligence. Its Bermuda insurer and US distribution operation have distinct roles. 28,30,29 Relm identifies Relm Insurance Ltd. as its Bermuda-regulated insurer and Relm US Insurance Solutions Inc. as a US licensed producer. It describes its US operation as a managing general agent (MGA), an intermediary with delegated insurance authority. The Bermuda entity says it deals only through appropriately licensed brokers. 29,30 |
| Application process | Coverdash’s public application begins with an email-address field. Its FAQ says to have your business name, address, industry, annual revenue and employee count ready; it describes online quote comparison and purchasing, with same-day coverage for most policies. 10,4 The FAQ says payment follows choosing and binding a policy, but the terms allow collecting payment before binding and later insurer rejection or repricing. Confirm the effective date and binding confirmation before relying on coverage. 4,2 Using the brokerage service means appointing Coverdash as broker or agent of record and working exclusively with it for those services unless otherwise agreed. 2 | Relm provides an inquiry form requesting contact details, company name and location. Its US launch describes access through distribution partners, and the website states that Relm Insurance Ltd. deals through licensed brokers. The reviewed pages do not establish instant quoting or online binding. 38,30 |
| Servicing and renewals | The public sign-in page describes resuming applications, reviewing policies and billing requests, downloading certificates and contacting an account manager. Coverdash’s FAQ directs customers through their account to request coverage changes or cancellation. 11,4 Coverdash’s certificate guide describes self-service PDF certificates, selection of multiple policies and an e-commerce marketplace template. It says requests for agent assistance can take up to two business days. 13 For policies whose billing and premium payment it facilitates, Coverdash’s renewal authorization permits automatic renewal with a premium increase of up to 20% if no material coverage terms change. Larger increases or material changes require renewed consent. 6 The authorization permits necessary renewal paperwork, including a new premium-finance agreement. Customers can opt out or request cancellation through the dashboard, with processing time; the insurer still decides whether to renew. 6 | The reviewed contact and terms pages provide general-inquiry and complaint channels but do not explain a customer self-service portal, certificate turnaround, endorsement process or renewal timetable. Ask which tasks your broker, the MGA and the issuing insurer will handle. 38,40 |
| Fees and compensation | Coverdash discloses a Technology Access Fee on each purchased policy, in addition to policy charges, and calls it fully earned and nonrefundable. The disclosure does not give its amount. 5 Coverdash may receive insurer or payment-servicer commissions, performance-related contingent or supplemental commissions, and negotiated client fees. It also discloses affinity-referral and administrative-service income. 5 Coverdash’s help center identifies Ascend as its payment and premium-finance partner. It explains that financing pays the annual premium upfront while the customer repays in installments. Confirm the current lender, interest and fees in the payment agreement. 12,6 | The reviewed legal, terms and inquiry pages do not disclose buyer-specific broker fees, commission rates, minimum premiums or total California placement costs. Obtain the premium, fees and applicable taxes separately in a written quote. 29,40,38 |
