Beazley vs
WithCoverage
Compare keeping a Beazley policy with changing the broker and risk-management service through WithCoverage.
Introduction
A finance team can be satisfied with a technology policy yet frustrated by renewal coordination or scattered documents. Beazley publishes a MediaTech renewal application. WithCoverage offers policy audits, brokerage and ongoing risk-management support, with an initial review that does not require leaving the existing broker. The first decision is whether to change the insurance, the service relationship, or both. 4 24 22

Key Differences Between Beazley and WithCoverage
A Broker Transfer Is Not a New Policy
WithCoverage’s portfolio page describes taking over existing policies through a broker-of-record letter. That changes the broker rather than the policy. Its initial technology audit is an earlier step, comparing current coverage, limits and premiums. Before signing an appointment, ask whether WithCoverage can service the specific Beazley policy and when the insurer would recognize the change; the records do not establish that account-specific access. 30 24 4
If the review instead proposes replacement coverage, Beazley’s older MediaTech sample provides useful questions about retroactive dates and exclusions, not a current replacement benchmark by itself. Compare the expiring contract and actual replacement forms so an administrative change does not obscure a coverage change. 3 24
A Lower Premium Can Leave More Risk with the Company
WithCoverage’s advisor materials discuss larger deductibles and contract changes as possible strategies. Its advertised savings on the solution page carry a spending threshold, so that figure should not be projected onto a small startup. Evaluate the cash the business would retain at risk, alongside any premium difference on the Beazley or alternative proposal. 31 28 3
WithCoverage says it typically agrees a flat fee but also allows commission arrangements. Its terms permit other disclosed charges. A fee independent of premium is therefore a compensation structure, not proof of a lower all-in cost. Ask for the engagement fee and policy-related charges separately. 25 23
Define the Ongoing Work Before Moving the Account
WithCoverage describes a named risk manager, consolidated policy tools and claims assistance. Its portfolio disclaimer says it does not provide legal services, despite mentioning attorneys on the team. Beazley remains responsible for the obligations of the policy it issues, subject to that contract; broker assistance must be distinguished from insurer claim notice. 27 21 30 8
The portfolio page’s broker-appointment exit promise does not cancel an insurance policy or waive every policy charge. The shared research also found terms text at WithCoverage’s privacy link. Obtain the applicable document-handling notice and service agreement before uploading detailed claims files or transferring the relationship. 30 23 35
What to Confirm in Quotes
- Is the proposal an audit, broker transfer or policy replacement, and can the team service the existing Beazley contract? 24 30 4
- What retained risk, flat fees, commissions and transaction charges explain the cost difference? 31 25 23
- Which renewal, claims, data-return and exit commitments appear in the agreement for this account? 30 28 8
Service Comparison
Beazley vs WithCoverage: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Beazley | WithCoverage |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | Beazley is a specialty insurance group operating through insurance companies and underwriting businesses. Its US disclosures distinguish the insurance entities from Beazley USA Services, Inc., which reports doing business in California as Beazley Insurance Services under license 0G55497. This is a company disclosure, not an independently verified license record. 5,6,7 | WithCoverage combines commercial insurance brokerage, a risk-management team and software for growing businesses. You can have existing policies reviewed, compare insurance options and manage the program with its team. 21,22,29 The terms name With Coverage Inc. and With Coverage Insurance Services LLC. The latter also appears in a Mississippi corporate filing under insurance agencies and brokerages. These identify the business entities; the terms assign policy obligations to the issuing insurer. 23,34 |
| Application process | Beazley describes MediaTech placement through third-party platforms or email. Its posted application requests the business’s services and products, employee count, US and non-US revenues, financial statements and expected business changes. A submitted application does not establish acceptance or an effective policy. 1,2 | WithCoverage offers an initial policy audit without requiring you to leave your broker. It says the review compares existing coverage, limits and premiums with market benchmarks. Its technology FAQ puts the assessment at usually one business day after receiving policy documents, with longer timing for multiple entities or locations. 24 The public review form starts with contact details and then asks about the company, industry and annual insurance spending. It requests a conversation about your program; it does not display an insurance price. 24 The portfolio page describes appointing WithCoverage on existing policies by signing a broker-of-record letter. This changes your broker, not the policy itself. The page says the transfer has no additional charge. 30 For its portfolio offering, WithCoverage describes a digital application transferred into insurers’ applications and an advisor-prepared comparison of options. 30 At the time of research, the page linked as Privacy Policy displayed the terms-of-service text rather than a separate detailed privacy notice. Before sharing policy or claims files, request the applicable privacy notice and document-retention terms. 35 |
| Fees and compensation | The reviewed MediaTech product page, application and US website terms do not disclose a buyer-specific premium, broker commission rate or fee schedule for a MediaTech placement. Obtain an itemized quote and the placing broker’s compensation disclosure. 1,2,6 | WithCoverage says it typically agrees a flat fee before work begins, so compensation does not rise with the premium. Its consumer FAQ also allows commission-based arrangements. The public pages do not give a standard fee amount. 25 The terms allow premiums, commissions, installment, service, cancellation and flat fees disclosed with the service. A flat advisory fee therefore should not be read as an all-inclusive insurance price. 23 The solution page advertises average savings of 20–40% for clients spending over $1 million annually on insurance and risk-management services. It does not provide the sample size, measurement period or calculation needed to establish a comparable result for your business. 28 Industry pages show the same 20–40% figure as annual policy savings without repeating the solution page’s spending threshold. The broader presentation does not establish savings for smaller accounts. 28,24,25 |
| Servicing and renewals | Beazley publishes a MediaTech renewal application. The reviewed renewal form and product page do not establish a guaranteed renewal, dedicated account manager, or turnaround commitment for policy changes. 4,1 Full Spectrum Cyber for small businesses combines Beazley Breach Response with security tools and services. Beazley describes incident-response coordination and discounted vendor services. Its myBeazley quote-and-bind route is for brokers handling accounts below $35 million in revenue and limits no higher than $5 million; these are cyber-route criteria, not MediaTech eligibility rules. 9 | WithCoverage describes a named risk manager backed by attorneys and claims specialists, handling renewals, certificates of insurance and account questions. Its platform brings policies, claims, certificates, exposures and renewal communications together. 27,21 The portfolio page says WithCoverage is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Confirm what its attorneys’ involvement includes. 30 The portfolio page promises no fee to end its broker-of-record appointment and data return on request. Confirm the service agreement and separate policy cancellation charges. 30,23 Its advisor recruitment materials describe contract changes and larger deductibles as possible strategies. Ask which risks the proposal leaves with your business. 31 |
