Beazley vs RiskCube

Compare a Beazley technology policy with RiskCube’s brokerage when a financing request adds AI excess and key-person insurance.

Introduction

A financing checklist can ask a startup for both stronger liability insurance and key-person life coverage on a founder. RiskCube advertises technology E&O, an excess policy for AI gaps and key-person life insurance. Beazley offers MediaTech and separate executive-risk products. These requests need separate underwriting tracks: protection for a founder’s death is not a higher limit on a technology or D&O policy. 27 29 1 10

Key Differences Between Beazley and RiskCube

AI Excess Needs the Underlying Policy in View

RiskCube’s technology page offers excess coverage for AI gaps, but the reviewed sources do not name its issuer or supply specimen wording; its AI URL displayed a contact form. If the startup wants to retain Beazley MediaTech, ask exactly which exclusion or limit the proposed excess addresses. Beazley’s older sample can identify questions but cannot establish the current underlying terms or prove that a wrap will respond. 27 32 3

RiskCube is the brokerage and platform relationship, with third-party insurers taking the policy risk. Its catalogue does not establish that it can place or service this particular Beazley contract. Request the actual underlying and excess insurer names and a written explanation of attachment and notice duties. 23 24 8

Key-Person Life Has a Separate Authority Question

RiskCube’s life notice describes insured-person authorization and underwriting. Its public license table lists property-and-casualty licenses, which does not establish the life-licensed producer or California life route. Ask who takes that application and who owns and benefits from the policy. Beazley’s Execuguard description concerns management liabilities and should not be treated as the same protection. 30 22 10

Digital Comparison Still Requires Written Terms

RiskCube describes AI-assisted, broker-reviewed comparisons and policy administration, but the public application URL exposed only a contact form. Its terms warn that AI output can be incomplete and that a quote is not a binder. Make the funding deadline depend on written binding confirmation and satisfied requirements, not the existence of a digital purchase description. 21 31 24

RiskCube’s no-added-broker-fee marketing sits beside a disclosure allowing agreed service and processing fees. Clarify which work is included, especially if liability, life and AI-specialist placements involve different participants. The Beazley product material does not establish those brokerage charges. 26 23 1

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Which AI exclusion or limit does the excess proposal address, and who issues it? 27 3
  • Who is licensed to place the California life policy, and what insured-person authorization is required? 22 30
  • Which service fees, binding conditions and claim-notice duties apply across the separate contracts? 23 24 8

Service Comparison

Beazley vs RiskCube: documented services and availability

CriteriaBeazleyRiskCube
Business role

Beazley is a specialty insurance group operating through insurance companies and underwriting businesses. Its US disclosures distinguish the insurance entities from Beazley USA Services, Inc., which reports doing business in California as Beazley Insurance Services under license 0G55497. This is a company disclosure, not an independently verified license record. 5,6,7

RiskCube offers startup insurance brokerage through RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC. Its parent, RiskCube, Inc., supplies the platform and operational support; third-party insurers issue coverage. 24,23

Coverage lines

MediaTech combines technology and professional errors and omissions, media liability and cyber coverage. Beazley lists breach response, business interruption, dependent business interruption, extortion, data recovery and eCrime protections, with limits up to $5 million; the issued policy determines the cover purchased. 1

The linked MediaTech sample form is dated February 2019. It excludes patent infringement and trade-secret misappropriation related to technology or other products, and contains contractual-liability and retroactive-date restrictions. The sample is not evidence of the wording that will be offered today. 3,5

Execuguard offers private-company directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability, with separate or shared limits across selected coverages. Beazley advertises both admitted and non-admitted options; state and account eligibility still need confirmation. 10

Beazley offers Commercial Crime for commercial companies and Financial Fidelity Bonds for financial institutions. Its crime page describes fraudulent-instruction coverage subject to out-of-band authentication, with possible removal of that condition for documented controls and an additional premium. 11

Virtual Care lists healthcare professional liability, technology liability, cyber, media, general liability and products/completed operations for digital-health businesses. Life Sciences offers product, professional and general liability through BioSecure, NutraGuard and WellTech forms for different life-sciences exposures. 13,14

North American Commercial Property targets mid-sized and large commercial properties on an excess and surplus lines basis. Product Recall – Manufacturing Risk and Response separately addresses consumer goods, component parts and consumables, including product-removal and related income-loss costs. 15,16

BeazleyOne Environmental combines general, professional and contractors’ pollution liability for environmental-service firms, and lists hired and non-owned auto. US Marine offers hull and marine liability on primary and excess bases; this does not establish general corporate umbrella availability. 17,18

Beazley offers representations and warranties coverage for acquisitions. Its US Specialty Programs business works through managing general agents, program administrators and specialized brokers on professional, general, product, manufacturers’ E&O, cyber and allied-medical liability programs. 12,19

The posted Digital Media Tech application says liability coverage is claims-made and reported: the claim must be made and reported within the applicable policy terms. It also warns that claims expenses reduce the liability limit and are subject to retentions. 2

RiskCube’s direct catalogue lists technology E&O, cyber, directors and officers, general liability, commercial crime, employment practices liability and fiduciary liability. These are marketed offerings, not confirmation of terms or eligibility for a particular applicant. 25

RiskCube markets AI insurance for model errors, hallucination claims, training-data intellectual-property exposure and agentic errors. Its technology E&O page also offers an excess policy for AI coverage gaps. No specimen wording or named issuing insurer for that AI placement was found in the reviewed catalogue and technology E&O page; the AI product URL displayed a contact form. 25,27,32

RiskCube offers trade credit insurance for business receivables, including customer default and export exposures. Its product page makes coverage subject to policy terms and buyer credit limits. 28

RiskCube markets key person life insurance for founders and other critical employees. Its life notice describes a separate insured-person authorization and underwriting process; the reviewed license page lists property-and-casualty licenses but does not establish the life-licensed producer or California life placement route. 29,30,22

Application process

Beazley describes MediaTech placement through third-party platforms or email. Its posted application requests the business’s services and products, employee count, US and non-US revenues, financial statements and expected business changes. A submitted application does not establish acceptance or an effective policy. 1,2

RiskCube describes one digital intake followed by AI-assisted and broker-reviewed quote comparison and digital purchase. The public application URL reviewed displayed a contact form rather than a complete underwriting flow. 21,31

For technology E&O, RiskCube asks for product, customer, revenue and contract details, plus prior claims or known incidents. It qualifies its advertised quote timing by risk profile and underwriting complexity. 27

RiskCube’s terms say quotes are not binders: written confirmation from the insurer or its authorized representative and required conditions must be satisfied before coverage is bound. 24

Fees and compensation

The reviewed MediaTech product page, application and US website terms do not disclose a buyer-specific premium, broker commission rate or fee schedule for a MediaTech placement. Obtain an itemized quote and the placing broker’s compensation disclosure. 1,2,6

RiskCube’s homepage and FAQ advertise no added broker fees, but its compensation disclosure allows agreed service fees and payment-processing charges. It also describes insurer or intermediary commissions and possible performance incentives. The scope of the fee-free claim needs written clarification for the requested services. 21,26,23
