Armilla vs Risklytics

Separate AI liability insurance, a model-performance warranty and a broader brokerage program for an enterprise AI contract.

Introduction

An enterprise AI contract may ask for insurance and also promise a level of model performance. Those are different obligations. Armilla markets both AI liability insurance and a contractual performance warranty, while Risklytics describes commercial brokerage for AI and robotics businesses. Begin by deciding which obligation the proposed product addresses before comparing its price with a broader insurance program. 2 3 10

Key Differences Between Armilla and Risklytics

A Warranty Does Not Replace Liability Insurance

Armilla Guaranteed is described as a contractual performance warranty, with remedies tied to agreed metrics. Armilla's standalone liability brief instead lists sample AI loss areas such as model errors and harmful output. Neither should be read as an entire business-insurance package. Risklytics lists technology E&O, cyber and general commercial lines, but its review of AI exclusions does not itself create a guarantee of model performance. 2 4 3 12 16

Testing and Placement Produce Different Evidence

Armilla says its process begins with an AI assessment and describes testing, remediation support and optional monitoring. Risklytics says it drafts a commercial application and approaches suitable insurers. An assessment report may help specify performance and risk, but it is not a bound policy; an insurance application is not a validation of model reliability. Ask which testing, reporting and ongoing-change obligations are required by the actual contract. 5 2 9 14

Identify Who Owes the Remedy

Armilla identifies itself as an MGA/coverholder, not the risk-bearing insurer, and names different backing partners for insurance and warranties. The reviewed public materials do not establish the warranty issuer or the exact insurer for an individual quote. Risklytics is also an intermediary, with the insurer determined by placement. These may be complementary layers, but no distribution relationship between them is established here. 1 3 4 11

What to Confirm in Quotes

  • Ask the customer which insurance evidence it requires and which performance remedy it expects; obtain the actual warranty and policy separately. 2 12
  • Identify the contracting issuer, reporting obligations, covered metrics and treatment of model changes, rather than relying on backing-partner names. 4 5
  • Establish the California surplus-lines or other placement route and separate assessment fees from premium. Neither record confirms account-specific California access. 1 6 10

Service Comparison

Armilla vs Risklytics Insurance: documented services and availability

CriteriaArmillaRisklytics
Business role

Armilla markets AI liability insurance, performance warranties and model assessments. It describes its insurance operation as a managing general agent (MGA), an intermediary with underwriting responsibilities, and names Armilla Insurance Services as a Lloyd’s coverholder. These descriptions do not make Armilla the risk-bearing insurer. 3,1,6

Florida’s corporate registry lists Armilla Insurance Services Inc., a Delaware corporation. This establishes a corporate identity, not an insurance license or authority to place a California risk. 8

Risklytics describes itself as a commercial insurance brokerage. Its current legal disclosures identify Risklytics, Inc., doing business as Risklytics Insurance Services, as the producer arranging coverage rather than the insurer. 10,11

Application process

Armilla’s insurance FAQ says to begin with an AI risk assessment, followed by a tailored insurance or warranty plan. The site directs buyers to contact its team; coverage requires written confirmation and completion of underwriting requirements. 2,1

Risklytics says it drafts an application using your description and public business information, including your website, for you to check and sign. It advertises Slack and email placement updates. The application-preparation process and its speed were not tested. 9

Risklytics says it reviews the application with you, approaches suitable insurers and reads quote wording before making a recommendation. Its FAQ says the insurer binds after you accept a quote; timing varies with the coverage and operation. 14

Access to insurers

Armilla names certain underwriters at Lloyd’s for its affirmative AI liability insurance. Its product brief also names Chaucer, Axis Capital and Convex as backing partners, without identifying the contracting insurer or syndicate for an individual quote. 1,3

The warranty brief names Chaucer Group, Greenlight Re and Swiss Re as backing partners. It does not identify the legal warranty issuer, the buyer’s direct rights against a backing insurer, or a California-specific warranty contract. 4

The terms allow submissions directly to insurers or through wholesale brokers. No named issuing insurer or product-specific California placement arrangement was identified in the reviewed terms, market-access page or coverage pages. 11,12,16,18

Servicing and renewals

Armilla Verified evaluates model performance, fairness, security and robustness. Armilla describes scoping, testing, remediation support and an internal report, with a badge conditional on meeting benchmarks. Optional monitoring and retesting are offered as models change. 5

The reviewed assessment and insurance pages do not disclose insurance renewal procedures or whether ongoing model monitoring is included in the premium. Optional assessment support should be priced and scoped separately in the proposal. 5,2

Risklytics says a broker remains on the account after placement and certificates can be issued against the binder. Its terms describe portal access to submissions, returned options and coverage records. The reviewed FAQ and contact page do not specify a renewal remarketing commitment or certificate turnaround guarantee. 14,11,15

Risklytics provides a contact form and email support, advertising an email response within a day. That is its stated response target, not a measured service result or emergency claims commitment. 15

Availability

Armilla says its insurance products use surplus-lines insurers and properly licensed surplus-lines brokers, with availability varying by jurisdiction. The reviewed disclosures do not establish a California placement route for a particular applicant; a Bay Area address alone does not establish eligibility. 1,3

Risklytics publishes agency NPN 22311838 and Massachusetts resident license 3004393145. Its state table, dated September 10, 2026, also lists Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Washington. These are company-reported identifiers, not independently verified licenses or product eligibility. 10

California is absent from the reviewed agency-license table. A California-authorized producer and product route remain unconfirmed in the reviewed disclosures; this does not establish that Risklytics cannot arrange California coverage. Confirm the responsible producer, authority and insurer for your operation before relying on a quote. 10,11,19
