Who Needs EPLI?

Any employer can face employment-practices allegations; EPLI may help businesses that want protection for specified claims and defense costs.

EPLI can be relevant once a business hires people because employment claims may arise from recruiting, supervision, discipline, accommodation, or termination decisions. Triple-I says businesses of any size can face this exposure and notes that small firms may have fewer formal HR resources. The coverage is not a substitute for employment-law compliance, manager training, documented complaint handling, or state-required benefits. Risk and availability differ by workforce, locations, industry, and claims history. When you compare quotes, disclose the workforce accurately and check whether applicants, former employees, temporary staff, leased workers, and contractors fall within the definitions; also compare limits and exclusions rather than assuming a small headcount makes the exposure immaterial.
