Does General Liability Cover Employee Lawsuits?

Usually not for employment-practices allegations; standard general liability addresses different liability exposures, and EPLI is separate or endorsed.

A standard commercial general liability policy is generally aimed at bodily injury, property damage, and certain personal or advertising injury claims arising from business operations. Triple-I says employment practices liability is generally not covered by general liability and can be bought as standalone EPLI or added by endorsement to a BOP or commercial package. Package terms may provide narrower limits or exclusions. A complaint by an employee alleging discrimination or wrongful termination is not the same as an employee accidentally injuring a customer. Check the CGL exclusions and any EPL endorsement in the package, then verify claimant definitions, limits, and defense terms in the actual contract.
