Can You Buy Builders Risk Insurance Online?

Apply online if the insurer offers it, then verify in writing that coverage is bound and when it starts.

Yes, you can apply online with some insurers or brokers. An online application does not itself bind coverage: US Assure’s guide, for its program, requests project value, work scope, stage, term, and coverage choices. Check that you receive a policy confirmation with an effective date before relying on protection.

Before applying, prepare the project address, owner and contractor details, construction agreement, work description, budget, start and completion dates, and occupancy plans. Report existing structures and materials away from the site accurately.

After submission, distinguish an application confirmation or estimate from a bound policy. Ask for the insurer name, complete policy forms, named insureds, limits, deductibles, exclusions, effective date and time, and outstanding conditions. Do not rely on online status text unless it confirms binding and matches the project documents.
