Newfront vs
WithCoverage
How Newfront and WithCoverage differ on program review, broker appointments, ongoing administration and the cost of retaining more risk.
Introduction
Newfront and WithCoverage both combine commercial-insurance brokerage, risk advice and software for managing policies. Newfront documents specialist practices and Navigator tools; WithCoverage offers an initial policy review and a risk-management team, typically paid through an agreed flat fee with commission arrangements also possible. A finance leader consolidating scattered insurance policies should compare the scope of work, appointment terms and cost of the proposed program—not just the dashboards. 8 30 36 38 39

Key Differences Between Newfront and WithCoverage
Reviews and Broker Appointments
WithCoverage says its initial audit can take place without leaving the current broker. Its portfolio offering then describes a broker-of-record letter that changes the servicing broker on existing policies. Newfront starts with consultation, and its general terms condition access to some online services on appointing Newfront as broker of record. Ask each what it can deliver during evaluation and what requires a formal appointment. 38 44 9 3
A finance leader with several locations and staggered renewals still needs a written transition plan. Moving the service assignment does not itself align those renewal dates or amend coverage. Request a policy-by-policy schedule, distinguishing policies merely transferred for service from policies proposed for replacement. WithCoverage’s portfolio transfer description is useful evidence for that conversation, but its scope and carrier acceptance still need confirmation for the actual account. 44 3
Operating Assignments After Consolidation
Newfront’s Partner Management tool tracks vendor certificates and follow-up inside Navigator, while its contract-review tool compares requirements with policies. WithCoverage’s restaurant FAQ describes a named risk manager responsible for renewals, certificates and questions, while its homepage presents policy and exposure records in one platform. Confirm that the same staffing assignment applies to the industries and entities in your proposed engagement. Both address ongoing work, but the specific deliverables should be written down rather than inferred from the phrase risk management. 31 32 41 35
Give both teams one recurring task: a new location's lease and its contractors' insurance requirements. Ask who checks the lease, collects proof, requests changes and tracks approval. Newfront expressly requires written carrier confirmation for Navigator changes. WithCoverage’s terms assign policy obligations to insurers, so its team’s review likewise should result in a documented amendment where coverage must change. Software can organize the work; it does not substitute for insurer approval. 3 37
Savings and Retained Risk
Newfront describes alternative risk-financing analysis, including captives and retained-risk arrangements. WithCoverage’s advisor materials discuss larger deductibles and contract changes. If either proposal lowers premium by increasing the amount the business must pay after a loss, that is a change in financial responsibility to evaluate alongside the saving. Ask for examples using your exposure assumptions, without treating illustrative results as promised outcomes. 28 45
The solution page advertises average savings of 20–40% for clients spending over $1 million annually on insurance and risk-management services. It does not provide the sample size, measurement period or calculation needed to establish a comparable result for your business. 42
That spending qualification covers annual insurance and risk-management services, not premium alone. Industry-page presentations without the threshold do not establish the same result for smaller accounts. The advertised figure should not become the budget assumption for this consolidation. Newfront’s public business-insurance page similarly does not establish an account’s total price. Require both to compare the expiring and proposed programs using the same locations, values, limits and periods, and show retained risk separately. 42 39 8
Compensation is another separate line. WithCoverage’s typically flat fee can make the stated advisory payment independent of premium size, but its terms allow other charges and its FAQ permits commissions. Newfront’s P&C compensation needs an individual disclosure. Ask each whether commissions are retained or credited and which tools and services are included; Newfront’s no-extra-cost statement for Partner Management is not a statement of free brokerage. 39 37 8 31
Records, Renewal and Claims Responsibilities
WithCoverage’s portfolio page promises no fee to end its broker appointment and return of data on request. That is distinct from cancelling a policy or terminating every possible service commitment. Newfront’s ongoing WTW integration raises a different continuity question: which agreement, team and data-handling terms apply to the account during transition? Neither issue proves that service will be disrupted; both justify a written handoff plan. 44 37 4
Claims responsibilities should survive the consolidation too. Newfront describes advocacy involving disputed coverage, counsel and reimbursement. WithCoverage describes claims-team and attorney involvement but expressly disclaims providing legal services. Ask both what claims support is included, when separate counsel is needed and where formal notices must be sent. A broker's advocacy does not make it responsible for paying the policy claim. 34 42 44 37
What to Confirm in Quotes
- Evaluation and appointment scope: distinguish initial review, broker transfer and replacement placement, with a policy-by-policy timetable. 38 44 3
- A worked lease-and-vendor task: identify who reviews requirements, collects certificates and obtains insurer approval. 32 31 41
- The full economic comparison: separate premium, advisor compensation, payment costs, retained losses and any funding or collateral obligation. 28 8 39 45
- A records and claims handoff: specify document export, renewal ownership, notice recipients and support after the appointment ends. 44 42 4 34
Service Comparison
Newfront vs WithCoverage: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Newfront | WithCoverage |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | WTW announced that it completed its acquisition of Newfront on January 27, 2026. Newfront’s Business Insurance team joined WTW’s Risk & Broking segment, while Total Rewards joined Health, Wealth & Career. 2 Newfront’s current terms use the name Newfront Insurance Services. An older official disclosure identifies ABD Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. as the agency behind the Newfront brand following its 2022 merger. The current site calls Newfront Insurance Services a trade name; confirm the full contracting producer name on your engagement agreement. 3,1,5 Newfront’s brokerage team analyzes risks and negotiates insurance placement. Its claims service acts as a liaison with the carrier. The broker’s advice and advocacy do not make Newfront the insurer responsible for the policy. 8,12,34,3 | WithCoverage combines commercial insurance brokerage, a risk-management team and software for growing businesses. You can have existing policies reviewed, compare insurance options and manage the program with its team. 35,36,43 The terms name With Coverage Inc. and With Coverage Insurance Services LLC. The latter also appears in a Mississippi corporate filing under insurance agencies and brokerages. These identify the business entities; the terms assign policy obligations to the issuing insurer. 37,48 |
| Application process | The public buying path starts with a consultation request. The form asks for your role, company, contact details, industry, employee count, and the service you need. It does not display a premium or bind coverage. 9 Newfront describes assembling a team for your industry, reviewing your business and risk exposures, and presenting that information to underwriters. Its technology practice describes onboarding and renewal reviews, with additional market shopping when appropriate. The reviewed public pages do not promise a universal quote or binding turnaround. 8,29,9 Some online services may require you to appoint Newfront as broker of record—the broker designated to service your insurance. Ask which tools and services are included before signing that appointment. 3 Life-science clients can use Newfront’s Clinical Trial Portal to check country requirements, upload documents, and request quotes. The public description does not establish automatic approval or a guaranteed time to receive coverage. 18 | WithCoverage offers an initial policy audit without requiring you to leave your broker. It says the review compares existing coverage, limits and premiums with market benchmarks. Its technology FAQ puts the assessment at usually one business day after receiving policy documents, with longer timing for multiple entities or locations. 38 The public review form starts with contact details and then asks about the company, industry and annual insurance spending. It requests a conversation about your program; it does not display an insurance price. 38 The portfolio page describes appointing WithCoverage on existing policies by signing a broker-of-record letter. This changes your broker, not the policy itself. The page says the transfer has no additional charge. 44 For its portfolio offering, WithCoverage describes a digital application transferred into insurers’ applications and an advisor-prepared comparison of options. 44 At the time of research, the page linked as Privacy Policy displayed the terms-of-service text rather than a separate detailed privacy notice. Before sharing policy or claims files, request the applicable privacy notice and document-retention terms. 49 |
| Access to insurers | Newfront describes relationships with multiple insurers rather than one issuing carrier for all business. Its VCAP page does not name the carriers using its custom endorsement, and its lender program refers to rated carriers without naming them or identifying the rating agency. Ask for the actual issuing entities and proposed forms before relying on those descriptions. 10,16,17 | WithCoverage says it solicits competing insurers and uses policy analysis to compare protection. Its founders describe approaching dozens of insurers; that is a company process claim, not a promise of that many quotes for your account. 43 Its risk-advisor page describes direct insurer appointments and wholesale access to admitted, excess and surplus lines, and specialty markets. Displayed names include Travelers, Chubb, The Hartford and Liberty Mutual, alongside intermediaries such as Amwins and RT Specialty. 45 Liberty Mutual independently lists With Coverage Insurance Services LLC in its agent directory. This corroborates one insurer relationship; it does not establish the entire advertised network or which legal insurer would issue your policy. 46 |
| Servicing and renewals | Newfront says Navigator brings together policy documents, certificates, claims information, payment tools, and communication with the service team. Its Executive Risk page describes renewal submissions pre-filled with historical data and document sharing with access controls. 30,11 A policy or coverage change requested through Navigator remains preliminary until the applicable carrier approves it and provides written confirmation. A submitted request is not evidence that the new coverage is in force. 3 Newfront says its Partner Management tool is included in client service agreements at no additional cost. It tracks vendor certificates, expiration dates, compliance issues, and follow-up activity inside Navigator. This is a statement about that tool, not a promise of free brokerage services. 31 Newfront’s Contract Review tool extracts insurance requirements, compares them with current policies, provides source citations, and notifies the Newfront team. Its Coverage Gap Analysis tool supports the team’s policy reviews. These are company-described functions; the reviewed materials do not independently establish accuracy or prove that all gaps will be detected. 32,33 Newfront’s March 2026 privacy notice describes integration with WTW as ongoing and anticipates substantial integration by year-end, subject to legal and contractual limits. That is a stated plan, not confirmation that systems, data practices, or service agreements have already been unified. 4 | WithCoverage describes a named risk manager backed by attorneys and claims specialists, handling renewals, certificates of insurance and account questions. Its platform brings policies, claims, certificates, exposures and renewal communications together. 41,35 The portfolio page says WithCoverage is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Confirm what its attorneys’ involvement includes. 44 The portfolio page promises no fee to end its broker-of-record appointment and data return on request. Confirm the service agreement and separate policy cancellation charges. 44,37 Its advisor recruitment materials describe contract changes and larger deductibles as possible strategies. Ask which risks the proposal leaves with your business. 45 |
| Fees and compensation | A standard business-insurance fee schedule, commission percentage, or premium range was not found in the reviewed business, consultation, and general-terms pages. Request an account-specific disclosure of brokerage fees, insurer commissions, other remuneration, and any separately billed services. 8,9,3 For Total Rewards, the order form sets compensation. The published terms allow insurer-paid commissions or client fees and disclose additional carrier compensation tied to the wider book of business. They also address non-cash compensation, retained unused carrier funds, and separate pass-through expenses. Newfront says supplemental commissions will not affect its recommendations. 26 Total Rewards agreements renew annually unless written nonrenewal notice is given at least 60 days in advance. Termination for convenience is allowed during renewal terms with 60 days’ written notice; the client must retain Newfront as broker of record through the current agreement term. Separately, a participating Block Strategy client ending the agreement for convenience during an active affected policy can owe an early-exit fee based on remaining premium savings. 26 | WithCoverage says it typically agrees a flat fee before work begins, so compensation does not rise with the premium. Its consumer FAQ also allows commission-based arrangements. The public pages do not give a standard fee amount. 39 The terms allow premiums, commissions, installment, service, cancellation and flat fees disclosed with the service. A flat advisory fee therefore should not be read as an all-inclusive insurance price. 37 The solution page advertises average savings of 20–40% for clients spending over $1 million annually on insurance and risk-management services. It does not provide the sample size, measurement period or calculation needed to establish a comparable result for your business. 42 Industry pages show the same 20–40% figure as annual policy savings without repeating the solution page’s spending threshold. The broader presentation does not establish savings for smaller accounts. 42,38,39 |
| Claims assistance | Newfront describes helping establish reporting protocols before a loss, reviewing how a policy may respond, and acting as the buyer’s liaison with the carrier. Its advocates address coverage-reservation and denial letters, counsel selection, vendor rates, reimbursement, and allocation disputes. This documents claims assistance, not a promise that a claim will be paid. 34 | WithCoverage says its claims team, including attorneys, manages the claims process and recommends changes to reduce future exposure. That assistance is separate from the issuing insurer’s policy obligations and does not establish claims-payment speed or outcomes. 42,37 |
