Chubb vs
RiskCube
Compare a Chubb technology proposal with RiskCube’s brokerage search, distinguishing package eligibility, the issuing insurer and service access.
Introduction
A founder who receives a Chubb technology proposal and a RiskCube invitation to compare quotes is looking at different decisions. Chubb markets named insurance products through its underwriting companies and producer network. RiskCube offers the brokerage work of arranging coverage with third parties. The buyer can evaluate the Chubb wording while separately deciding who should perform the market comparison. The records do not establish that RiskCube can obtain that Chubb option. 10 29 47

Key Differences Between Chubb and RiskCube
A Named Package Makes the Wording Comparison Concrete
Chubb describes DigiTech ERM as one policy addressing technology E&O, media and cyber. RiskCube markets technology E&O and additional AI-related placements, including excess, without identifying a standard policy form in the reviewed public documentation. Ask the broker to compare the offered sections and exclusions rather than comparing DigiTech's name with an AI coverage label. 10 50 48
Chubb also markets ForeFront management-liability coverages and separate small-business packages. Their presence alongside DigiTech does not mean those products are included in the same contract or automatically available to the same applicant. 11 7
Apply Each Eligibility Gate to the Right Product
Chubb's BOP page describes businesses up to $30 million in revenue, while its Marketplace cyber materials describe eligible risks below $100 million. These are different product and channel descriptions, not a single acceptance threshold for every technology account. RiskCube's startup-through-growth positioning likewise does not establish an insurer's appetite for a particular operation. 7 10 44
The reviewed public documentation independently verifies California admitted-insurer status for Federal and ACE American. It does not verify a California product schedule or assign either company to the reader's policy. RiskCube's producer-license statements are company-reported and concern a different role. Ask for the legal insurer and applicable California route rather than treating these different forms of evidence as interchangeable. 41 42 2 45
Separate Carrier Services from the Brokerage Assignment
Chubb directs buyers to their agent or broker as the first service contact and describes different tools for small-commercial and multinational accounts. RiskCube describes digital policy servicing and claims advocacy. If a Chubb policy is proposed, identify both the carrier's included resources and the broker's work; a multinational platform description should not be assumed to apply to a small startup policy. 30 27 49
What to Confirm in Quotes
- Which DigiTech, management-liability and package sections are being quoted, and which remain separate policies? 10 11
- Is the proposed broker appointed or otherwise able to access the product, and what insurer, forms and California eligibility have been confirmed? 29 2
- Which engineering, incident and brokerage services are included, and what additional fees apply? Public Chubb materials do not provide a complete buyer compensation schedule; RiskCube's disclosures allow charges. 21 29 46
Service Comparison
Chubb vs RiskCube: documented services and availability
| Criteria | Chubb | RiskCube |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | Chubb is the marketing name for subsidiaries of Chubb Limited, a Swiss holding company, that provide insurance and related services. U.S. commercial policies are issued by U.S.-based Chubb underwriting companies, not by Chubb Limited itself. 39,2,25 Commercial buyers typically reach Chubb through independent agents and brokers. Chubb appoints producers, operates agent portals, and identifies Chubb Insurance Solutions Agency, Inc. as the licensed agency that administers Chubb Access appointments. Surplus-lines products can be offered only through licensed surplus-lines producers. 29,30,2,38 | RiskCube offers startup insurance brokerage through RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC. Its parent, RiskCube, Inc., supplies the platform and operational support; third-party insurers issue coverage. 47,46 |
| Access to insurers | The issuing insurer is a Chubb-group underwriting company named on the policy. Reviewed sources identify Federal Insurance Company as a primary U.S. underwriting company, ACE American Insurance Company as a U.S. issuing company on surety materials, and Westchester Fire Insurance Company or Westchester Surplus Lines Insurance Company (and, for some Westchester business, Illinois Union or other ACE paper) depending on the placement. Buyers should read the declarations rather than assume a single “Chubb” legal insurer. 30,25,28,36,41 | RiskCube says it compares multiple insurers. Its terms permit placements through surplus-lines channels; the reviewed legal disclosures and catalogue do not identify the issuing insurer for a specific California applicant. 44,47,46,48 |
| Availability | Chubb’s U.S. site states that products and services vary by jurisdiction and are not available or suitable for all users. Company license materials describe Federal Insurance Company and ACE American Insurance Company as admitted property-and-casualty insurers in all 50 states. That company-wide licensing statement is not a product-by-product availability matrix. 2,25,36 California’s regulator lists Federal Insurance Company (NAIC 20281) and ACE American Insurance Company (NAIC 22667) as admitted property-and-casualty insurers in the Chubb Ltd group. The reviewed product pages do not publish a California-specific eligibility list for technology, DigiTech ERM or small-business BOP. Surplus-lines placements, if used, must go through a licensed surplus-lines producer. U.S. branch offices are not evidence that a product is available in California. 41,42,43,2,35 | RiskCube’s license disclosure lists RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC with California resident property-and-casualty license 6017028, Delaware license 3004000392 and NPN 21694336. These are company-reported identifiers, not independently verified license status. Product eligibility, insurer and any surplus-lines placement route still require confirmation for a California quote. 45,47 |
| Application process | Appointed agents and brokers can quote, and for eligible risks issue, small-business and cyber accounts through Chubb Marketplace, and can use Cyber Central for an express cyber quoting path. Marketplace cyber quoting is described for eligible risks with less than $100 million in revenue; referred risks go to underwriters. Businesses seeking coverage are directed to an agent, a U.S. contact form, or chubbsmallbusiness.com for small-business quote inquiries. The reviewed public pages do not describe a general-public online bind for middle-market technology programs. 9,10,30,31,12 | RiskCube describes one digital intake followed by AI-assisted and broker-reviewed quote comparison and digital purchase. The public application URL reviewed displayed a contact form rather than a complete underwriting flow. 44,54 For technology E&O, RiskCube asks for product, customer, revenue and contract details, plus prior claims or known incidents. It qualifies its advertised quote timing by risk profile and underwriting complexity. 50 RiskCube’s terms say quotes are not binders: written confirmation from the insurer or its authorized representative and required conditions must be satisfied before coverage is bound. 47 |
| Servicing and renewals | Chubb tells buyers to use their agent or broker as the first service contact and publishes Small Business policy-service, billing and client-center support for policies purchased through Chubb Small Business or named affinity partners. Lower-midmarket materials describe a path from quoting and issuance through servicing and renewals. Large multinational accounts are offered Worldview for program documents, certificates and claims status. Technology marketing also describes dedicated underwriting, claims and risk-engineering teams, including nearly 500 in-house risk engineers in related consulting copy. 30,19,27,4,18 | RiskCube describes platform access for policy management, certificate generation and renewal notifications. A certificate does not change coverage under its terms. 44,47 RiskCube says it reviews vendor insurance requirements and checks requested endorsements, including additional insured and waiver-of-subrogation language. Its terms warn that AI-assisted output can be incomplete or inaccurate. 49,47 |
