Does General Liability Cover Negligence?

Often, for covered bodily injury or property damage caused by a negligent act; professional services and other excluded risks need separate coverage.

CGL may cover negligence that causes covered bodily injury or physical property damage to someone else. Negligence alone does not trigger coverage: the loss must meet the policy terms, and professional errors, employee injuries, auto accidents, and property in your care may be excluded or handled by another policy.

Check the claim allegations, exclusions, limits, and endorsements. Report a demand promptly and ask the insurer which coverage part applies.
