Does Commercial Property Cover Vandalism?
Often, vandalism is included in common commercial property forms, subject to limits, exclusions, vacancy provisions, and policy conditions.
Texas Department of Insurance lists vandalism among causes usually covered by basic-form policies, and NAIC says vandalism damage is usually included. Those summaries describe common forms, not a guarantee for a particular location. Vacancy clauses, repeated damage, damage during construction, or failure to maintain required protections can change the outcome. The policy’s deductible and any special location terms still apply.
Confirm that vandalism appears in the selected causes-of-loss form and review exclusions for vacant or unoccupied buildings, intentional damage by an insured, and property outside. Check the reporting conditions, deductible, and any sublimit. If vandalism interrupts operations, verify business-income coverage separately and confirm that the physical loss qualifies as a covered trigger.
