Do I Need Insurance for Uber in California?

Yes. Keep the personal auto insurance Uber requires and disclose your rideshare work to your insurer. California has separate waiting, accepted-trip and passenger-on-board protections. Your car repairs, occupational injury benefits and health stipend require different checks; commercially licensed work follows a separate insurance route.

Before You Drive Passengers in California

Keep Your Own Personal Auto Insurance

Yes. Uber requires personal automobile insurance at mandatory minimum limits and proof of that insurance for ordinary rideshare driving. Its current national page also says an additional personal rideshare product is not required merely to sign up. That signup rule does not mean your personal insurer covers every moment you use the app. Tell your insurer that you carry paying passengers through Uber, name your other apps and describe the car and drivers. Ask which personal coverages continue, which stop and whether an endorsement is needed for the protection you want. California's TNC insurance provisions and the platform's arrangements address different periods. Keep your own policy current for personal use and the coverage conditions discussed below rather than treating app approval as permission under your insurance contract. 26,25,2

Separate the Ordinary Minimum From TNC Limits

For ordinary automobile liability policies issued or renewed from January 1, 2025, Vehicle Code section 16056(a)(2) sets $30,000 for one person's injury or death, $60,000 for more than one person's injury or death in one accident, and $15,000 for property damage. DMV's current page confirms those figures. They are the ordinary legal floor, not the waiting or accepted-trip TNC limits and not a personal recommendation of sufficient insurance. The statute also retains historical amounts and specifies a future increase in 2035; neither should be mistaken for the current paragraph. Discuss an appropriate personal limit with your insurer, and investigate TNC-specific protection separately. A personal insurance card displaying 30/60/15 does not prove that policy covers your online business activity. 3,1,25

Ask for Express Coverage of the Period You Want

Public Utilities Code section 5434 does not require an ordinary personal policy to provide online TNC coverage. It sets out the conditions for a personal policy, amendment or endorsement to expressly provide that protection. Section 5432 requires written platform disclosures about insurance and potential personal-policy gaps. Ask your insurer for the exact wording covering waiting, pickup and passenger trips, including physical damage and any deductible protection. Insurance Code section 11580.1 also makes the insured car, insured persons, permitted purpose and exclusions relevant. An endorsement called rideshare may fill only selected gaps, and a promise about liability does not establish collision coverage. Retain the written underwriting answer and effective date, especially if you later add delivery work or another driver. 25,2,13

Read Your Driver Agreement Alongside Current Terms

Uber's live U.S. general terms show October 12, 2026 as their last modification date. Their opening language preserves a driver's separate Platform Access Agreement or Technology Services Agreement and gives that agreement priority for relevant conflicts. The insurance provision also distinguishes ordinary TNC services from commercially permitted transportation and preserves insurance duties imposed by law. Obtain the agreements and disclosures actually applicable to your account and work; the general terms are not your automobile policy. An indexed copy returned an older April version during this review, and older publicly available driver agreements do not establish the version you accepted. Keep your account's agreement and dated insurance disclosures with the policy documents so a later change can be checked against the accident date. 31,25

Current California Certificate and Trip Periods

Use the California Certificate for the Right Dates

Uber's live rideshare page links a three-page California certificate issued by Aon Risk Insurance Services West, Inc., naming AIG Specialty Insurance Company and Uber Technologies, Inc. The listed policies run from March 1, 2026 to March 1, 2027. Page one addresses available-but-not-accepted activity; pages two and three address accepted requests and additional remarks. A certificate is informational and does not amend coverage or create rights for its holder. It is useful dated evidence, not the complete master policies or proof that a particular driver and loss are insured. Request the applicable declarations and endorsements as well, especially for an earlier accident, a different vehicle category or an airport-specific question. 27,26

Waiting Liability Is 50/100/30 Plus Required Excess

California section 5433(c) requires primary waiting-period liability of at least $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident for death or personal injury, plus $30,000 property damage, with at least $200,000 per occurrence excess above the specified underlying limits. Uber's current California certificate lists policy 4805488 at 50/100/30 and policy 4805489 for the $200,000 excess, subject to their actual terms. Its national summary's $25,000 property figure is a general baseline and should not replace California's $30,000 amount. The statutory waiting interval also includes returning to availability after a ride or transaction ends, until another acceptance or logout. This liability protection is separate from repairs to your own car and from the injury benefits considered later. 25,27,26

Accepted-trip Liability Begins Before Passenger Pickup

Section 5433(b) requires primary $1 million liability from acceptance until the app transaction or ride is complete, whichever is later. It addresses defense and indemnity and allows specified driver-maintained or company-maintained arrangements, with verification requirements for a driver's qualifying TNC policy. Uber's California certificate lists $1 million combined liability under policy 4805491 for the accepted-request activity it describes, including travel to pickup. Do not postpone the liability question until the passenger enters the car. Equally, do not assume dropping off a passenger keeps all in-trip benefits running indefinitely while you wait for the next request. Record acceptance, pickup, drop-off and transaction completion separately and obtain the insurer's actual period determination for an incident at a boundary. 25,27

Required TNC Cover Does Not Wait for a Personal Denial

Section 5433(d) says TNC insurance cannot depend on a personal automobile policy first denying the claim, and the personal insurer cannot be required to deny first. Subsection (e) supplies a first-dollar company obligation when qualifying driver-maintained TNC insurance has lapsed or ceased. Report the crash to the relevant parties and provide accurate insurance information, but do not present a personal denial letter as a universal California prerequisite. Ask the TNC insurer to identify the legal and policy basis for a sequencing request. This statutory rule concerns required TNC coverage; it does not automatically remove a separate optional product's enrollment requirements, a collision deductible or the obligation to cooperate in a coverage investigation. 25,26

Passenger-on-board UM/UIM Has a Different Boundary

The current section 5433(b)(2) requires $60,000 per person and $300,000 per incident uninsured/underinsured-motorist protection from passenger entry until exit, primary over other applicable UM/UIM and solely the TNC's obligation. Uber's certificate continuation lists 60/300 for the described passenger transportation, while expressly excluding UM/UIM during waiting and the journey to pickup. These periods differ from the $1 million accepted-trip liability period. An uninsured driver hitting you before pickup therefore raises a different protection question from the same impact with your passenger aboard. Check your own UM/UIM selections and delivery or rideshare restrictions too. Neither a large third-party liability figure nor occupational accident medical protection automatically provides every uninsured-driver remedy. 25,27,8

The Certificate Names Specific Airport Premises

The California certificate's additional remarks state a $1 million per-accident UM/UIM amount for accidents on named airport premises, including John Wayne, Long Beach, McClellan-Palomar, Monterey Regional, Oakland San Francisco Bay, Ontario International, San Diego International, San Luis Obispo County Regional and Santa Maria Public airports. Read this continuation with the certificate's activity descriptions and the actual endorsement. The preceding pages exclude UM/UIM in waiting and pickup-enroute periods, so the continuation should not be turned into a blanket promise for every airport, road approaching an airport or app stage. Preserve the exact location and passenger status and request the applicable airport wording. The checker does not decide a premises boundary or confirm an airport operating permit. 27,25

Your Car, Other Vehicles and Other Work

Both Personal Collision and Comprehensive Matter

Uber describes its rideshare physical-damage protection as contingent on your personal insurance including both comprehensive and collision for that vehicle. It describes payment up to actual cash value with a $2,500 deductible while en route or on a trip, subject to terms. The California certificate lists $2,500 collision and comprehensive deductibles on the accepted-trip policy. Having personal liability alone does not satisfy Uber's stated condition. Check the declarations for both coverages and ask about the value, deductible, exclusions and the insurer's required evidence. A financed car can be worth less than its outstanding balance, and a $1 million liability limit is not a promise to pay off the loan or replace the car with a new one. 26,27,13

Arrange Waiting-period Repairs and Downtime Separately

The accepted-trip physical-damage description does not establish Uber-funded collision or theft protection while you are only available for a request. Ask your own insurer whether express rideshare coverage fills that interval and which deductibles apply. CDI's guide distinguishes collision, comprehensive, rental reimbursement and gap protection; they address different losses and need to be checked as purchased coverages. A rental payment can help with transport without permitting that replacement vehicle to carry paying passengers. Ask the rental provider and insurer separately about business use. Consider how you would fund the repair deductible, alternate transport and interrupted earnings. The optional vehicle-interruption product below is a separate contract with a fixed benefit, rather than automatic repair coverage for every incident. 26,13,25,32

Uninsured Injury Cover Does Not Promise Hit-and-run Repairs

Your own uninsured-motorist injury protection and property protection are different questions. Insurance Code section 11580.2 supplies detailed coverage choices, definitions and conditions. CDI explains that uninsured-motorist property damage has an identified-uninsured-driver condition and a $3,500 limit in the described coverage; collision-deductible waiver is a separate option. Do not assume an unidentified hit-and-run produces the same repair outcome, or that the platform's passenger UM/UIM is collision insurance for your car. Ask which coverages you bought or waived, how an endorsement treats TNC use, and which insurer handles each part of the loss. Keep written explanations where two policies respond differently rather than treating a claim label as proof that the repair bill is covered. 8,13,27

A Commercial Driver’s Economy Trip Is Still Different

Uber's commercial FAQ distinguishes ordinary TNC drivers from commercially licensed or insured operations. It says commercial drivers must maintain their own commercial auto insurance and that Uber's ordinary rideshare auto liability policies do not cover their commercial trips, including economy products such as UberX, UberXL or Comfort as well as premium Black services. A rideshare extension of a personal policy is not automatically sufficient for those commercial requirements. Confirm the operating category attached to your account, required permits and the actual commercial policy for every driver and vehicle. The requested fare product alone cannot establish the insurance route. This ordinary-car guide and checker withhold the published ordinary TNC findings when a commercial-driver configuration or Uber Black is selected. 28,26,25

Do Not Transfer One Vehicle or Service’s Terms to Another

California's TNC definition in section 5431 specifies the personal-vehicle category, including capacity, authorized use and conditions for rented vehicles, and excludes taxicabs and limousines. That definition is not permission under every rental contract. Uber's national page also flags different physical-damage terms for marketplace rentals and expressly separates passenger insurance from delivery insurance. Get the actual rental program documents and delivery policy if you use either arrangement. Do not apply the ordinary owned-car deductible, the passenger UM/UIM period or a commercial driver's policy to a different vehicle or activity without that evidence. The checker retains questions but withholds this ordinary owned-car snapshot for borrowed, rented and non-car selections; a second app requires its own applicable documents. 25,26,28,2

California Occupational Injury Protection

California’s Automatic Product Is Not the National Optional Product

Uber says California rideshare and delivery earners receive occupational accident insurance automatically without signing up. Its live injury page links a California Explanation of Coverage dated January 1, 2024, naming Homeland Insurance Company of New York, Uber Technologies, Inc. and specified affiliates. That document expressly says it is neither a certificate nor the policy, and the actual policy controls. The general optional-injury material names Atlantic Specialty for a different product; do not assign that insurer to California merely from the national page. Obtain the current California master policy, schedule and insurer confirmation for the accident date. Likewise, AIG's auto certificate does not make AIG the insurer of the occupational medical or disability claim. 29,30,27,4

Use All-network Earnings and the Injury-date Rates

Section 7455(a) requires disability payments equal to 66% of average weekly earnings from all network companies, defining that average as the preceding 28 days' earnings divided by four. It incorporates minimum and maximum weekly rates determined under Labor Code section 4453(a), for up to the first 104 weeks following injury. The 2026 DWC reference rates are $264.61 and $1,764.11. Uber's linked explanation prints older $242.86 and $1,602.96 figures, but its page-four footnote labels them January 2024 amounts and calls for calculation at injury using the statutory rate reference. Preserve statements from all apps and ask for the earnings calculation, injury-year rates, covered duration and offsets. These dated figures are not an unconditional personal benefit quote. 4,10,19,30

Online, Engaged and Personal Activity Differ

California section 7455 defines online time to include availability for requests as well as engaged time. It does not require the same protection outside engaged time when you are engaged on another network company's platform or doing personal activities; it also provides contribution where more than one network company's injury insurance covers an accident. The linked Uber explanation has its own online, engaged-time, transportation-provider and personal-activity definitions, including qualifications while waiting in a motorized vehicle. Keep the status and actual activity for every app rather than assuming two open apps create two full recoveries. A personal stop during an online shift needs an actual coverage analysis. Ask the insurer which policy definition and facts it applied, with the California statutory obligation in view. 4,5,30

Check Treatment, Disability Proof and Product Limits

The California statute requires occupational medical-expense coverage up to at least $1 million. Uber's linked explanation describes medical necessity, covered services, timing and specific limitations as well as disability conditions; its schedule includes commencement periods, a disability waiting period and benefit durations. It also describes medical sublimits and a lifetime maximum, so a headline $1 million figure should not be read as unlimited payment for every treatment or successive accident. Ask for the current policy and an explanation of the applicable limits before relying on a summary. For disability, retain medical evidence and the earnings records needed to substantiate inability to work. This accident product does not establish routine sickness cover or replace a qualifying health plan for general medical needs. 4,30,29

Ask About Offsets and Third-party Recoveries

Section 7455(e) treats specified occupational benefits as workers' compensation or disability amounts for the referenced automobile-insurance coordination. Insurance Code section 11580.2(h) also addresses specified workers' compensation reductions. Uber's linked explanation describes disability offsets, other medical coverage, conditional payments and recovery from a liable third party, with qualifications. Do not assume an occupational payment, personal MedPay, health insurance and UM/UIM will independently pay the same loss. Give the insurers accurate payment information and request the basis of any reduction or reimbursement demand. The statutory independent-contractor framework in sections 7451–7452.5 and its conditions do not make this occupational product identical to ordinary employee workers' compensation benefits or procedures. 4,8,30,6

Survivor Benefits Depend on the Actual Dependency Rules

Section 7455(b) requires specified accidental-death protection for spouses, children or other dependents, with burial and death benefits determined using Labor Code sections 4701 and 4702. Uber's explanation likewise refers to dependency and the law at injury, while describing additional dismemberment and loss-of-use benefits with their own definitions and waiting conditions. Avoid replacing those rules with the national optional product's headline family benefit. Ask for the actual current schedule, dependent evidence, injury-date rules and payment calculation. Burial expenses, survivor payments, occupational medical benefits and liability owed to another injured person are separate components. A maximum amount mentioned in one component is not a guarantee that every claimant or family receives that amount. 4,11,12,30,29

Optional Vehicle Interruption Coverage

The Linked Policy Is a Paid Optional Cash Benefit

Uber links an actual Illinois Union Insurance Company Vehicle Interruption Coverage policy, N11134993 001, effective April 13, 2026 until canceled, with a California surplus-lines notice. It names Uber and affiliates as policyholder and describes protection for qualifying transportation providers who opt in and pay the premium. Its scheduled benefit is $2,500 per claim, with a two-claim limit every 12 months. It is not auto liability, vehicle repair or injury insurance. Uber's current summary advertises $0.031 per covered trip mile, while the individual app and certificate establish enrollment and effective time. Do not mistake the declarations' initial premium entry for a retail quote. This guide reviews the contract without enrolling you or confirming that the offer is available on your account. 33,32

A Disabled Car Alone Does Not Satisfy Every Condition

The policy requires a covered accident during its eligible period, after coverage takes effect and after completion of the required first trip, with at least 24 consecutive hours of inability to operate the car. Its definition covers specified four-wheeled vehicles insured with you as an insured, and eligibility excludes certain employment or intermediary arrangements. It excludes causes including acts of nature, fire, ordinary breakdown, windshield-only damage and specified cosmetic or legal-only non-disabling damage. Theft requires a police report. Waiting before an accepted request and another company's work are not automatically covered. Check the exact cause, vehicle, driver, enrollment and trip facts rather than assuming every day in a repair shop produces the benefit. The actual policy contains more conditions than these examples. 33,32

The Optional Benefit Has Its Own Notice and Evidence Duties

The VIC policy calls for notice through the dedicated Chubb portal as soon as possible and no later than 30 days after the accident. It requires damage and repair-shop evidence, with special provisions for stolen, unrepairable, leased or rented vehicles, and cooperation with additional information requests. It promises payment within ten days after approval, not ten days after any support message. Save the trip identifier, enrollment confirmation, incident evidence and the repairer's inoperability assessment. The carrier retains the specified determination of inoperability. A crash report for ordinary Uber liability is not a reason to assume the separate VIC claim is complete. Follow the actual current policy and claim channel applicable to your enrollment. 33,32

Two Paid Claims Can End This Optional Cover

Under the linked policy, payment of a second claim in the 12-month period ends that driver's coverage, and re-subscription is unavailable until 180 days after reaching the claims limit. The policy also addresses immediate ending when app access terminates, voluntary termination, company cancellation, premium remittance and notices of changes. Coverage is therefore not established merely because you once enrolled or saw a deduction on an old earnings statement. Check your current certificate and active status before relying on this benefit. Section 7453's earnings floor and mileage expense component are different compensation mechanisms; they do not insure a collision or override these optional-policy conditions. Keep the earnings calculation, repair protection and interruption enrollment as separate records. 33,7

Healthcare Stipend: Hours, Plan and Proof

Count Engaged Hours by Company and Quarter

Section 7454 establishes a half subsidy for an average of at least 15 but less than 25 engaged hours per week on a network company's platform during a calendar quarter, and a full subsidy at 25 or more. Uber's live California article uses those tiers. Waiting online is not automatically engaged time under section 7463, so do not count every logged-in hour as qualifying. Keep the company's earnings-period and quarter-to-date hours records. The statute permits subsidies from more than one company, but each company's own qualifying hours must be checked; pooling all apps' hours does not by itself create Uber eligibility. Ask for the actual quarter calculation if a canceled request or an activity adjustment changes your result. 4,5,34

Confirm the Subscriber and Exact Plan Type

The statutory qualifying-plan definition requires the driver to be the subscriber and excludes employer-sponsored, Medicare and Medicaid plans. Uber's current article asks for a qualifying individual plan and primary-subscriber status and separately describes paid Medicare supplement plans as eligible with documents identifying them as supplemental rather than core government Medicare. Treat that as Uber's stated process, not a determination that a particular card or policy qualifies under the statute. Ask for acceptance of the exact plan and relevant coverage dates. A dependent on a spouse's policy should not assume subscriber eligibility. The checker does not collect plan details or decide the stipend claim. Covered California's guide explains individual-market coverage and proof options that can help assemble the required evidence. 5,34,21

Use the Dated Quarterly Amount Rather Than Rounded Monthly Figures

Uber's current 2026 table lists $868.38 for the partial tier and $1,736.76 for the full tier per quarter. Covered California's June 2026 guide supplies a $706 monthly bronze reference; the statute defines the average ACA contribution as 82% of that reference. Three months at that contribution produces the full amount, and half produces the partial amount. The state guide's monthly illustrations are rounded, so multiplying a rounded monthly illustration produces a different total. These figures are for 2026. Check the applicable year and current table rather than carrying them into a later quarter in another year. They are statutory reference-based subsidy amounts, not a promise to reimburse every dollar of your own health premium. 34,21,4,5

Follow Uber’s Proof Channel and Preserve the Submission

Uber's live article directs quarterly proof to the Driver app's Documents Hub. It asks for insurer, primary subscriber, member or policy identifier, coverage start date and plan type, and allows an additional matching document when one document lacks all the information. Its separate proof article accepts a start date before or during the relevant quarter. Use clear documents showing the actual enrollment rather than assuming an insurance card without dates is sufficient. Covered California's proof guide describes obtaining a quarterly PDF after the quarter closes. Its optional data-sharing workflow should not be assumed to cover Uber merely because it works for another app; the June guide identifies a DoorDash arrangement. Submit through the appropriate Uber channel and retain the receipt and accepted documents. 34,35,22,21

Separate Submission Dates From the Statutory Payment Clock

Uber lists April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15 as the proof deadlines for the preceding calendar quarters, with a new proof submission each quarter. These are different from DoorDash's published application windows. Section 7454(d) gives at least 15 calendar days after quarter-end to provide proof and requires a due subsidy within 15 days of quarter-end or proof submission, whichever is later. Uber's article describes payment within 15 days after quarter-end when the document is approved and hours requirements are met. Retain the actual submission and decision dates and ask about an apparent mismatch rather than assuming an app review resets the statutory rule. Covered California directs stipend eligibility or appeal questions to the network company; health-plan enrollment issues use its own process. 34,4,21

After a Crash: Open the Right Claims

Report Promptly and Identify Each Insurance Product

Uber's current rideshare page directs drivers to Report a crash in the app's Safety Toolkit and describes the Crash Center for insurer contact and claim status. Gather the other parties' insurance information, safe scene photographs and any police report number. Notify your own insurer and identify each potential claim: third-party liability, your vehicle, occupational injury and an enrolled interruption benefit are separate questions. The linked California occupational explanation describes written notice and proof within 90 days of loss, with qualifications; the national optional-injury product has different instructions and should not supply a California deadline by substitution. Report promptly and obtain the actual policy's instructions rather than waiting until a summary's last day. One general support conversation does not establish that every insurer received a complete claim. 26,14,30,29

Preserve the App Timeline and Policy Version

PUC section 5435 requires the TNC or insurer to cooperate with other insurers in coverage investigations, including accident time and precise app login and logout times. Keep acceptance, pickup, passenger exit, transaction completion, cancellation and other-app activity too. A screenshot taken after impact can show a later state without proving the state at impact. Save the certificate and policy set effective on the actual date; Uber's March 2026–March 2027 certificate is not evidence for every prior or later loss. If an insurer classifies an accident as waiting, on-trip, personal or airport activity, ask which facts and policy definitions support that decision. Accurate timing matters because liability, passenger UM/UIM, physical damage and occupational protection do not all use the same boundaries. 25,27,14

A DMV SR1 Is Separate From App and Insurance Reports

Vehicle Code section 16000 generally requires a report to DMV within ten days for an accident involving injury or death, or damage exceeding $1,000 to any one person's property, subject to its statutory exceptions. The current June 2025 SR1 instructions say to file regardless of fault and explain that a police or insurance report does not satisfy the requirement. Record the actual issuing insurer, policy and vehicle information carefully, and keep a copy. Reporting through Uber's Safety Toolkit is a different task. A single crash can therefore create an immediate app and carrier notice, a DMV deadline and additional product-specific claim requirements. Use the current official form and obtain help on any uncertainty rather than assuming one submission handles all of them. 9,23,26

Preserve Uninsured-motorist Rights Through the Required Route

Insurance Code section 11580.2(i) has particular steps and time limits for specified uninsured-motorist claims, including routes involving an action, agreement or arbitration process. Other provisions distinguish unidentified vehicles and underinsured claims. Do not assume an Uber crash report, a DMV form or an ordinary insurer acknowledgment satisfies every applicable preservation requirement. Obtain prompt advice on the policy and legal steps for the actual accident, particularly if another driver's insurance is absent or insufficient. Keep the relevant correspondence and ask for the provision governing any deadline the insurer identifies. This guide does not calculate an individual's limitation period or advise waiting for another claim to finish before preserving the uninsured-driver claim. 8,14

Reviewing Decisions, Repairs and Payments

Request a Written Coverage Decision and Missing-proof List

California regulation section 2695.5 imposes specified acknowledgment, response and investigation duties, including 15-calendar-day provisions with conditions. Section 2695.7 addresses acceptance or denial after proof of claim, continuing notices and explanations of a denial's factual and policy basis. The familiar 40-day framework has exceptions, including specified disability and automobile repair-bill claims; it is not a universal deadline for every insurance product here. Keep dates and copies, ask what proof remains outstanding and request the actual exclusion or condition being applied. Distinguish the insurer's decision from an app-support response. A disagreement about which policy applies can be documented and challenged without inventing a guarantee that every claim must be paid within one standard number of days. 15,16

Check the Value, Repair Estimate and Deductible Recovery

For automobile claims, section 2695.8 addresses comparable-car total-loss valuation, itemized adjustments, applicable taxes and fees, repair-shop choice, estimates and specified towing or storage. Ask for the comparable vehicles and the basis of deductions instead of comparing only the final check with your loan balance. Its conditional reopening process requires notice within 35 calendar days after receipt of the claim payment or final offer when a comparable car cannot be bought for the gross settlement amount, with detailed exceptions. Section 2695.7 separately addresses specified subrogation and deductible recovery. Keep estimates, repair supplements, listings and receipts so the disputed item can be identified. Establish coverage first; valuation rules do not create insurance for an excluded activity or vehicle. 17,16,13

Injury Benefits Need the Correct Claims Standards

CDI's February 2021 Proposition 22 notice explains the disability-insurance classification of required occupational medical and disability benefits. Applicable life and disability claims have additional standards in section 2695.11, including explanations of benefits, specified overpayment safeguards and preauthorization rules. The regulation forbids preauthorization for emergency medical services, and its contested-claim provision refers to a particular statutory category. Check the product and rule rather than applying an auto-property claim clock to every medical or wage claim. Ask for the benefit calculation and written reason for an offset or denial. The linked Uber occupational explanation and VIC policy are different products with different claim conditions; a decision under one does not establish a decision under the other. 20,18,30,33

Build a Specific Auto-insurance Complaint File

For an unresolved auto-insurer issue, CDI's nonhealth Request for Assistance form asks for the insurer, policy and claim identifiers, the problem, the outcome sought and supporting documents. Include the relevant denial, policy wording, app timeline and disputed estimate or calculation. The instructions address active litigation and explain circumstances in which CDI defers its investigation. A complaint does not replace a lawsuit, preserve every deadline or guarantee coverage. A health-stipend dispute should be raised through Uber's process rather than treated as an auto-insurer complaint solely because it concerns an insurance subsidy. Keep sensitive claim or health documents in the appropriate official channel. The public checker needs no identifying information and does not submit a claim or purchase a policy. 24,14,21,34
