Evidence and Scope
Role: Broker. Scope: USI Insurance Services LLC and its U.S. brokerage and risk-consulting operation for property-casualty, technology, executive, employee-benefit and related commercial risks; the evidence covers placement and claims-support roles and does not identify USI as a risk-bearing insurer.
Legal Identity
USI's reviewed materials identify USI Insurance Services LLC as the brokerage and risk-consulting entity. Aon announced an agreement to acquire USI on August 31, 2026, while stating USI would operate independently until an expected fourth-quarter close; the announcement is ownership context, not evidence that the transaction had closed.[1][8]
Licensing
Financial Strength
Risk Bearing
USI describes licensed-producer activity, insurer-paid commissions, contingent compensation and placement of property-casualty and technology coverages. The reviewed sources do not identify an issuing carrier, underwriting authority, admitted or surplus-lines status or reinsurance terms for a particular policy; USI is treated as broker.[2][3]
One USI programme names its underwriter. USI’s accountants’ professional liability page states that “The AICPA Professional Liability Program, underwritten by CNA, has been offering coverage to CPAs since 1967 and has been the endorsed provider of the AICPA Program since 1994,” and directs buyers to USI Affinity for quotes and renewals. That identifies a carrier (CNA), a programme (the AICPA Professional Liability Program), a scope (professional liability for CPA firms) and a long-running endorsement, all disclosed by USI. It establishes nothing about the insurer for any other USI line.[10]
USI’s programme platform is named and describes delegated authority without naming the carriers granting it. Its programmes page states that USI delivers programme business through USI Affinity and Innovation Growth Partners, and that IGP Specialty offers “specialty underwriting programs, nationwide wholesale brokerage, and contract binding authority.” IGP Specialty’s own site describes “25+ standout, competitive specialty programs,” wholesale “backed by a vast network of carrier partners” and contract binding “powered by top-rated carriers,” and states that it was formed from U.S. Risk, a national specialty lines underwriting manager and wholesale broker, and Safehold Special Risk, a national program business. Contract binding authority is a capacity relationship, but no insurer granting it is named.[9][11]
Outside the AICPA programme, no reviewed USI source identifies an insurer for a property-casualty, technology, executive or employee-benefit placement, and the CNA evidence sits within USI Affinity rather than the general commercial brokerage that most of this assessment covers. No carrier-published record of a USI appointment was located in this research.[10][9]
