Is Insureon Legit? Licensing, Carriers and Reliability

Company legal pages identify Insureon as a division of SPG LLC, dba SPG Insurance Solutions; a Florida corporation-registration record lists Delaware formation, an active Florida foreign-LLC registration, a Berkeley Heights NJ principal address and HUB International U.S. Holdings Inc. as a member. Insureon's Chicago address is a disclosed office, not the LLC's legal domicile. No source in this packet identifies SPG LLC's insurance regulatory home state/domicile conclusively.[1][2][4]

Insureon’s licensing page says it is licensed in 50 states and Washington, D.C.; it lists Louisiana 715002 and Texas 2081759 and identifies Specialty Program Group LLC, dba SPG Insurance Solutions. Under the current assignment policy, these provider-published disclosures are trusted, not described as independently regulator-verified. The separately reviewed Louisiana DOI record names SPG LLC as Producer Agency license 715002, with Property, Casualty and Surplus Lines authority active through 2028-03-31. Texas TDI orders already present in the historical research identify SPG LLC surplus-lines license 2081761 and repeated late filings; they do not establish that this is the same record as the company-listed 2081759 or link those filings to Insureon-branded placements. The compensation notice gives a general explanation of insurer commissions, employee commission-linked compensation, contingent and supplemental income, client placement fees, certain-state technology fees, de-identified data consulting, insurer promotional/training benefits, premium-finance income and trust-account interest. It says placement fees and dual commission/client fees are generally disclosed in writing before binding. This is relatively specific disclosure of potential compensation sources, but no proposal, policy-level disclosure or audited compliance record was reviewed; a particular buyer's exact compensation and conflict management remain unknown.[6]

Insureon describes carriers as the policy issuers and claim payers; its claims guidance directs customers to the insurer's reporting route and offers agent help with policy details/questions. This is consistent with a distributor role in the general materials reviewed, but the actual issuer and service split must be identified from each policy and the insurer is not mapped for the listed network.[1][7][5]
