Does General Liability Cover Company Vehicles?

No for crashes involving a company vehicle; check a commercial auto policy for the vehicle and drivers.

A standard CGL policy generally excludes liability from a company vehicle crash. The ISO specimen’s auto exclusion applies to many claims arising from an insured’s ownership, maintenance, or use of a vehicle, including some negligent-supervision allegations.

Check that your commercial auto policy covers each vehicle, driver, and business use, with suitable liability and physical-damage limits. Ask how rented or borrowed vehicles are covered; do not rely on CGL for that protection.
