Does a malpractice policy automatically cover every clinician at my business?

Do not assume so. NAIC’s general explanation describes medical professional liability for physicians and other licensed health professionals. Ask which clinicians, entities, and services the proposed forms name.[1]

Ask whether the quote is claims-made or occurrence. For claims-made terms, confirm when claims must be reported and whether an extended reporting period applies. Check that the proposed covered-professional and named-insured terms include each clinician and the company.[1]
