# Switching from Travelers? Compare your options with Spot

Spot reads the Travelers policies your producer placed and takes your program to market, with technology and cyber lines handled as a set.

- Your Travelers producer is part of the conversation if you like
- Technology E&O and cyber compared together
- Travelers coverage remains until the new policy is bound

## How it works

- **Send your Travelers policies.** Share each policy and declarations page, plus the name of the independent agent or broker. Your Spot team notes which Travelers company is on each and whether any coverage sits on surplus-lines paper.
- **We compare form to form.** Your Spot team reads defense terms, retroactive dates, cyber sublimits and any media or regulatory wording, so a proposal for a program like CyberRisk Tech isn’t judged on price alone.
- **A submission goes to brokers.** Spot prepares your operations and loss history once, and brokers take it to insurers that write your lines. Questions reach you in your shared Slack channel.
- **Pick a program and bind.** You compare proposals side by side, and your Spot team helps you bind. Certificates for the new policies can then be generated in the Spot app.

Travelers primarily sells US insurance through independent agents and brokers, whom it calls producers. It writes a wide range of commercial lines, including a technology practice and CyberRisk Tech for technology and life-sciences companies. It also owns digital independent agencies, Simply Business and InsuraMatch.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **Your technology risks shifted.** New products, data volumes or customers can change what a cyber or technology E&O policy should cover.
- **Your producer moved on.** If the agent or broker who placed your program has left or changed roles, a new one may be the right moment to compare.
- **A renewal brought changes.** New terms or pricing at renewal are a reason to see what other insurers would write.
- **Your limits need to rise.** Larger contracts and funding rounds often push umbrella, D and O and cyber limits upward.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Ask your producer about renewal and cancellation.** The independent agent is the stated contact for policy questions. Ask for renewal dates, notice rules and any fees.
- **Collect quotes across lines.** Cyber, technology E&O and management liability are best quoted as a group so exclusions line up.
- **Bind before you end.** Hold written proof of the new policy and its effective date. Keep the Travelers policy in force until then.
- **Cancel through the producer.** Ask them to send cancellation in writing, and confirm how any return premium is calculated.

## Common questions

### My Travelers policy came through an agent. Does that change how I switch?

A little. Your agent is who to ask about renewal terms and cancellation, and Spot works alongside agents and brokers. You can keep yours involved or use another broker for the new program.

### Can Spot compare a technology and cyber program?

Yes. We prepare one submission covering your cyber, technology E&O and media exposures and take it to market, so you can compare it with a program like CyberRisk Tech.

### Is Spot linked to Travelers?

No link. Spot is not affiliated with Travelers and can’t speak for it. The name tells you which policies you’re comparing from.

### Can I switch partway through the term?

You can ask, but your policy’s cancellation terms apply. Check them, and don’t end Travelers coverage until your new policy has bound.

### Does Spot replace my agent?

No. Spot works with agents and brokers, takes no commissions on premiums, and leaves that choice to you.
