# Moving your insurance program from TechInsurance? Compare brokers with Spot

TechInsurance sells technology E&O and cyber as a bundle, so your Spot team lays out the bundle and the single policies side by side.

- Bundle and separate policies compared
- Insurer behind your policy noted
- Brokers compared on tech wording

## How it works

- **Send your bundle and declarations.** Share the policy documents from TechInsurance. Your Spot team notes the agency entity, the insurer and the limits for E&O and cyber.
- **We read the technology wording.** Your Spot team compares covered services, retroactive dates and exclusions with your customer contracts.
- **Compare other brokers.** Your Spot team takes the submission to brokers you pick and asks them to quote the bundle and the single policies.
- **Move without a gap.** Your Spot team helps you choose a letter or renewal handover, and your current policies stay in force until the new broker confirms.

TechInsurance is a small-business insurance agency where one online application gets quotes from several insurers, with tech E&O and cyber sold as a bundle for software and IT firms. It operates as an agency and brokerage, and describes itself as part of Insureon and HUB International. Small businesses can use it to compare quotes and work with agents.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **Your product or team grew.** A company with more customers and employees may need D&O and employment practices coverage that a first program lacked.
- **You want a person who knows your stack.** Some founders prefer an adviser who understands software delivery, not only a form.
- **You want the options split.** A bundle is convenient, but some buyers want to set limits on each policy separately.
- **You want to compare compensation.** Brokers explain fees and commissions in different ways, and buyers often want more than one explanation.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Check the agency named on your policy.** TechInsurance describes itself as part of a larger group, so confirm which entity appears on your documents, the term and the notice.
- **Ask for quotes both ways.** Have each candidate quote the bundle and the individual policies. Your Spot team lays the differences next to each other.
- **Choose a letter or a renewal handover.** A letter transfers servicing immediately, while renewal does so with the new policy. Each insurer has its own rules for when.
- **Confirm before you cancel anything.** Keep the bundle in force until the new broker confirms in writing. Then reissue certificates and update the contact on each customer contract.

## Common questions

### My tech E&O and cyber came as a bundle. Can I split them?

You can ask brokers to quote both ways. Your Spot team lays out the bundle and the separate policies next to each other, so you can see what changes.

### Which insurer is behind my policy?

Your declarations page names it. Send it to your Spot team, and we record the insurer with your limits and renewal date.

### Is Spot affiliated with TechInsurance?

No. Spot has no affiliation with TechInsurance, Insureon or HUB International. We use these names only to say which provider you’re leaving.

### Can I switch part-way through the term?

Often, by broker of record letter. If your policies are bundled, ask what happens when one moves. Your Spot team checks before you send anything.

### Does Spot take a commission?

No. Spot takes no commissions on premiums, and it works alongside brokers rather than replacing them. Your broker still advises on and places the coverage.
