# Switching from Resilience? Compare your options with Spot

Resilience pairs cyber and technology E&O with risk services, and your Spot team asks other markets for insurance alone and for combined proposals so you can weigh each part.

- Insurance priced apart from risk services
- Security evidence collected once
- Placement and insurer names confirmed in writing

## How it works

- **Send your Resilience policy and service agreement.** Upload both documents so your Spot team can see which tools are tied to the policy and which are a separate contract.
- **Describe your product and customers.** For a software company, we write what the software does, who relies on it and the contract liabilities you want the quote to address.
- **Brokers approach insurers.** Resilience is reached through brokers and inquiries, so we use brokers too, asking for cyber and technology E&O and sharing replies in Slack.
- **Compare cyber amounts and bind.** Your Spot team lines up retentions, eCrime sublimits and response costs across proposals, then helps you bind before the Resilience policy ends.

Resilience combines cyber and technology E&O coverage with services that help companies prioritize cyber risks and track exposure. Brokers can access it through its broker page, and businesses can submit an inquiry. No end-to-end self-serve purchase was described.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **You already have security tools.** If your team runs its own monitoring, you might prefer to compare insurance without bundled services.
- **Revenue or product scope changed.** A new product, AI feature or customer segment can change what the policy should say.
- **A customer asks for higher limits.** Procurement teams often name specific amounts and additional insured wording.
- **You want fewer vendors to manage.** Some companies prefer one team to track renewals and certificates across their policies.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Note the expiry and renewal documents.** Resilience doesn’t publish renewal timing, so ask your broker when renewal information normally arrives.
- **Collect comparable proposals.** Request quotes with the same retentions and limits, with and without risk services.
- **Bind the new policy before you cancel.** Keep your current policy until the replacement is confirmed in writing, including incident-reporting instructions.
- **Cancel the policy and any service separately.** Ask the broker who placed it to cancel the insurance. End any service agreement on its own terms, then send new certificates.

## Common questions

### Can I compare coverage separately from the risk services?

Yes. Buying insurance and deciding where to spend your security budget are separate decisions, so your Spot team lists each separately in your comparison.

### Will a different insurer need new security evidence?

Probably some. Underwriters ask what security controls you have, so your Spot team collects your answers once and reuses them across proposals.

### Does Spot work with Resilience?

Spot isn’t affiliated with Resilience. We refer to it only so you know which policy you’re leaving.

### Is it better to wait for renewal?

Usually, since both the insurance and any service terms end then. If you need to move sooner, plan the overlap so the new policy starts before the old one stops.

### Does Spot take commission from the premium?

No commissions. Spot works alongside the brokers who place cyber coverage and doesn’t replace them.
