# Switching from Next Insurance? Compare your options with Spot

Spot reads the policies you bought online from Next Insurance and takes one submission to market, so you aren’t rebuilding an application for every line.

- Policies bought online read together, not one at a time
- Proposals set beside your current limits and exclusions
- Nothing ends until the replacement has bound

## How it works

- **Send the policies you bought online.** Forward each Next Insurance policy and its declarations page. Online purchases tend to leave you with several policies and several emails, so your Spot team gathers them in one place and notes the company named on each.
- **We check what each policy says.** Your Spot team reads limits, deductibles, endorsements and exclusions on the issued forms, and checks any lease or customer contract against them. A partner product you added, such as commercial auto or a bond, goes into the same review.
- **One submission goes to brokers.** Spot prepares your operations, payroll or revenue figures and claims history once. Brokers take it to insurers that write your lines, and their questions reach you in your shared Slack channel.
- **You compare, then bind.** Proposals come back side by side on terms as well as price. When you pick one, your Spot team helps you bind it while the Next Insurance policy is still in force.

ERGO NEXT Insurance, which many businesses know as Next Insurance, serves small businesses and self-employed workers. It sells general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial property, professional liability and business owner’s policies, and supported policies can be quoted and bought online. Some lines, such as commercial auto and bonds, are handled through other providers.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **A renewal notice changed.** A different premium at renewal is a natural moment to ask what other insurers would offer for the same coverage.
- **Your business outgrew a starter policy.** A policy bought for a one-person shop can fall behind when you hire staff, add locations or sign bigger contracts.
- **A customer asks for more.** A new client or landlord may want higher limits or specific wording, and it’s easier to settle that before a renewal than during one.
- **You’d rather not run it alone.** Several online policies mean several renewal dates and certificate requests. Some owners prefer a team that tracks them.

## How to switch without a gap

- **List every renewal date.** Policies bought separately usually renew on separate days. Write down each date from your declarations pages before you decide what moves first.
- **Ask for proposals before the date arrives.** Give your Spot team enough lead time to take the submission to market, so you’re choosing from real proposals instead of renewing by default.
- **Bind the new policy first.** Get written confirmation of the new policy’s effective date. Keep the Next Insurance policy active until you have it.
- **Cancel from your account.** Next Insurance sells online, so start with your account and the contact details in your policy documents. Ask how any refund is worked out and whether fees apply.

## Common questions

### I bought a few policies separately. Can I move them together?

Yes. Your Spot team can take general liability, workers’ compensation and your other lines to market in one submission, then show a combined program next to what you hold now. Each policy keeps its own renewal date, so we plan around every one.

### What if one of my policies came through a partner?

Some products sold alongside Next Insurance are issued by other companies, each with its own terms and contacts. Send those documents too, and your Spot team keeps them on the same schedule as the rest.

### Are you connected to Next Insurance?

No. Spot has no affiliation with Next Insurance and doesn’t speak for it. The name appears here only so you can tell which policies we mean.

### Can I move before my term ends?

Possibly, depending on the cancellation terms in your policy. Read those terms first, ask what is refunded or owed, and bind the replacement before you cancel so you’re never uninsured.

### Will Spot take a cut of my premium?

No. Spot takes no commissions on premiums, and it works alongside brokers rather than in place of them.
