# Moving your insurance program from Kinro? Compare brokers with Spot

Kinro starts from your business activity and reviews your current policy, so your Spot team starts from the same declarations page.

- Insurer behind each policy identified
- Declarations pages reviewed together
- Brokers compared on what they quote

## How it works

- **Send your declarations page.** Upload the declarations pages and renewal packet from Kinro. Your Spot team lists the insurer, limits, deductibles and dates for each policy.
- **We read policies against your contracts.** Your Spot team checks them against client contracts and leases, including additional insured wording and retroactive dates.
- **Compare with other brokers.** Your Spot team takes the submission to the brokers you choose and helps you read proposals side by side, not only the first quote.
- **Keep coverage while you switch.** Your Spot team helps you choose a letter or renewal handover, and the old policy stays in force until the new one is confirmed.

Kinro is an online small-business insurance agency that reviews your current policy for free and helps you compare quotes. Its pages don’t name the insurer behind a given quote. It serves businesses from contractors and restaurants to consultants, manufacturers and care providers, and its public quote intake has four steps.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **Your business added employees or vehicles.** Growth brings payroll, drivers and equipment that a first policy may not have been built around.
- **A client contract asks for more.** Higher limits or specific endorsements sometimes call for a broker who has handled that clause before.
- **You want a broker who knows your trade.** A restaurant, a contractor and a consultant each get different questions from underwriters.
- **You want to compare at renewal.** Some owners ask a second broker to quote the program each year, so they know how it compares.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Check your Kinro paperwork.** Find the agency named on each policy, the renewal date and any notice. The insurer on your declarations page doesn’t change when the broker does.
- **Compare what each proposal covers.** Ask for covered operations, limits, deductibles, exclusions and endorsements side by side. Your Spot team builds the comparison.
- **Choose a letter or a renewal handover.** A broker of record letter moves servicing now. A renewal handover waits for the new policy.
- **Confirm in writing and update contacts.** Keep the old policy active until the new broker confirms. Then reissue certificates and tell clients and landlords who the new contact is.

## Common questions

### How do I find the insurer on my Kinro policy?

Your policy documents name it. Send them to your Spot team, and we list the insurer, limits and renewal date for every policy before we compare anything.

### Kinro reviewed my policy for free. Does Spot do something different?

Spot reviews your policies against your contracts and takes a submission to market through brokers. Whichever route you use, compare the actual proposals, not the review.

### Is Spot affiliated with Kinro?

No. Kinro and Spot are separate companies. Kinro’s name is here to say who you’re leaving, and it has not approved this page.

### Can I switch right before renewal?

Yes, and renewal is the cleanest time. Kinro says it shops the market at renewal, so ask for a comparison and your Spot team lines up the other proposals.

### Does Spot charge commissions?

No. Spot takes no commissions on premiums and works with the broker you pick. Brokers keep advising and placing your policies.
