# Switching from CFC? Compare your options with Spot

CFC’s technology package combines technology E&O, cyber, media and intellectual property with general liability, and your Spot team asks other brokers for the package and for each line on its own.

- Package and single-line quotes compared
- Subsidiaries and revenue reconciled once
- Certificates and requirements checked after the move

## How it works

- **Send your package policy and schedule.** Upload the technology policy, its endorsements and the application you gave CFC. Your Spot team notes the insurer or syndicate on the documents, which can differ from the brand.
- **Rebuild the application with us.** CFC’s form asks about revenue, funding, subsidiaries, products, contracts, security, IP procedures and claims. Your Spot team collects those answers once with the people who own each topic.
- **Brokers quote the package and its parts.** We ask brokers for a combined technology program and for separate lines, then share each reply in Slack.
- **Compare wording, then bind.** Your Spot team compares limits, retentions, retroactive dates and defense-cost treatment across the proposals, and helps you bind before your CFC policy ends.

CFC can quote specialist technology coverage on insurers’ behalf, including a package that combines technology E&O, cyber, media and intellectual property with general liability. Its technology application asks for revenue, funding, subsidiaries, products, contracts, security, IP procedures and claims history, and it goes to a broker. CFC Connect separately supports broker trading and appointments.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **You added subsidiaries or products.** A group that grew past its first policy may want activities and revenue described differently.
- **One line needs to move.** You may want a different cyber limit or media wording without rebuilding the whole package.
- **Customers want higher limits.** Enterprise agreements can ask for limits or additional insureds that your current schedule lacks.
- **You want help running the program.** Certificates, midterm changes and renewal preparation are easier when one team tracks them.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Gather policy dates and wording.** Read the expiry, retroactive date and extended reporting terms in the technology forms so you know what a new insurer must match.
- **Ask for the package and its separate lines.** Early proposals show whether keeping everything together or splitting it suits you better.
- **Bind before you cancel.** Keep the CFC-quoted policy active until the new binder or policy is confirmed. Dropping it first can leave a claim reported too late under the wrong policy.
- **Cancel through the placing broker.** CFC’s technology applications go to a broker, so that broker sends the cancellation. Ask who holds your certificate list, then reissue certificates for the new policies.

## Common questions

### My policy is a package. Can Spot compare separate policies?

Yes. We ask brokers for the package as well as the individual lines, so you can see what splitting or combining them would change.

### What will a new application ask me?

Much the same as the last one: revenue, funding, subsidiaries, products, customer contracts, security controls and claims. Your Spot team assembles those once and reuses them.

### Does CFC have any relationship with Spot?

No. Spot is independent of CFC and doesn’t act for it. We mention CFC only to identify your current policy.

### Is it too late to switch if my term started months ago?

Not necessarily, but mid-term moves depend on cancellation rules and on a new insurer accepting the risk. Many companies set a date near renewal, and your Spot team can work backward from it.

### Do I pay Spot a fee through my premium?

Spot doesn’t collect commissions on premiums. Your broker stays your broker if you want, and Spot works next to them.
