# Switching from At-Bay? Compare your options with Spot

At-Bay quotes cyber and technology E&O for larger technology businesses with security services alongside, and your Spot team compares the policy and the services as two separate decisions.

- Security services priced apart from premium
- Binding conditions listed before you sign
- Renewal route checked so nothing renews unseen

## How it works

- **Upload your At-Bay policy and service terms.** Send the declarations, forms and any managed detection agreement. Your Spot team records which charges are premium and which are the embedded security fee or a separate service contract.
- **Reconcile contracts, limits and revenue.** We compare your customer contracts with your cyber and technology E&O limits, and write down your products and security controls once for every broker.
- **Brokers bring back proposals.** At-Bay’s own process runs through a broker, so we do the same with other markets and share what returns in Slack.
- **Compare policies and tools, then bind.** Your Spot team shows the insurer’s name, retentions, binding contingencies and any security requirement side by side. We help you bind once you pick.

At-Bay offers cyber and technology insurance for larger technology businesses, pairing eligible policies with monitoring and training. Managed detection and response is charged separately. An online quote is not bound coverage, and the broker process still requires application review, chosen limits and retentions, and signatures before binding.

## Why businesses consider switching

- **Security tools overlap.** If you already run endpoint or email protection, you may want to see proposals that don’t ask you to buy another service.
- **You outgrew your first limits.** Revenue and customer size can push a technology company past the limits it chose early on.
- **A customer reads your tech E&O closely.** Enterprise security reviews often ask for specific limits, wording or additional insureds.
- **Renewal timing caught you out.** A renewal that binds on its own is a reason to set your own calendar and shop on your terms.

## How to switch without a gap

- **Check how your policy renews.** At-Bay describes both rapid renewals, which bind automatically ahead of expiry, and manual ones. Confirm which applies to you and note the deadline.
- **Get proposals early.** Allow time for application review, chosen limits and retentions, and signatures, which a broker process normally needs before binding.
- **Bind the new policy before ending At-Bay’s.** Keep the existing cover active until you hold written confirmation of the replacement, including its retroactive date.
- **Ask your broker to cancel and refund.** The broker who placed your policy sends the cancellation and tells you about any return premium. Cancel any separate security service on its own terms, then reissue certificates.

## Common questions

### Do I lose security services if I switch?

Possibly the ones tied to At-Bay’s policy, and managed detection and response is a separate charge anyway. Your Spot team lists the services in each proposal so you can compare coverage and tools together.

### Does my broker handle the move?

Your cyber policy runs through a broker process, so the broker who placed it is the first person to ask. Spot works alongside brokers, so yours can stay involved.

### Does At-Bay know about Spot’s work?

We aren’t affiliated with At-Bay and don’t represent it. We compare options for you using public information and your own documents.

### Can I switch before a rapid renewal binds?

Yes, if you act before the renewal date. Tell your Spot team which route you’re on and we count back from that deadline when we ask for proposals.

### Is there a Spot fee on the premium?

No. Spot takes no commission on premiums, and the brokers that place your cover keep their normal role.
