## How it works

- **Describe your virtual care.** Tell us about video visits, remote monitoring and any technology used in care. Your Spot team asks which services are also delivered in person.
- **List clinicians and patient locations.** We note who provides care, where they’re licensed and where patients are, so the submission matches what clinicians actually do.
- **Brokers take it to market.** We work with brokers to request telehealth proposals, and follow up on underwriters’ questions about your services.
- **Check remote care is really in the quote.** See whether each proposal covers professional liability for remote care, not only technology or general liability.

## What you’ll need

- **Virtual services.** Video consultations, remote patient monitoring and other care delivered through technology.
- **In-person services.** Care you also provide in a clinic, which the quote may treat separately.
- **Clinicians.** Who delivers care, and their licensing.
- **Patient locations.** Where patients are when they receive care.
- **Technology and devices.** Platforms and devices used in patient care, including home monitoring.
- **Outage and data exposure.** How a platform outage or data problem could affect patients, since cyber and in-person risks need separate review.
- **Current coverage and claims.** Your expiring policy and any past claims.

## What affects your price

- **Types of care.** Some kinds of remote care carry more risk than others.
- **Number of clinicians.** More insured clinicians generally means more premium.
- **Patient locations.** Where patients are changes licensing and exposure.
- **Technology used.** Remote monitoring devices and your own platforms add exposure.
- **Limits and claims history.** Higher limits cost more, and past claims can raise the price.

## Common questions

### Is telehealth covered by regular medical malpractice?

Not necessarily. We check each proposal covers remote care and the specific activities you named. Spot also has a separate page for medical malpractice.

### What if a platform outage harms a patient?

The proposal needs to address bodily injury involving care, technology or an outage. A general technology liability form may not.

### Does the patient’s location matter?

Yes. The clinician’s licensing, the patient’s location and the services insured need to fit the policy.

### Can my healthcare broker work with Spot on telehealth?

Yes. Spot works alongside brokers and takes no commissions on premiums, and you may switch brokers at any time.
