# Get fiduciary liability insurance quotes with Spot

Tell your Spot team about your benefit plans and the people who run them, and we prepare the submission brokers use to quote fiduciary liability.

- Benefit plans and the people running them described once
- Administration errors and fiduciary breaches checked separately
- Keep your broker or switch, with no commissions on premiums

## How it works

- **List your benefit plans.** Tell us about the retirement or health plans your company sponsors. Your Spot team asks who makes decisions and who handles administration.
- **Name the people with plan duties.** We describe what each person does for the plan, because a job title alone doesn’t decide who is a fiduciary.
- **Brokers take it to market.** We work with brokers to request proposals from fiduciary insurers, and follow up on questions about plan oversight.
- **Compare who and what is insured.** Each proposal’s insured plans, people, treatment of administration errors and defense terms are lined up before you choose.

## What you’ll need

- **Plans you sponsor.** Each retirement or health plan, such as a 401(k), and the sponsoring organization.
- **People with plan responsibilities.** Who makes decisions for the plan and who runs administration, described by what they actually do.
- **Plan administration practices.** How enrollment, records and participant communications are handled.
- **Investment oversight.** How plan investments are selected and reviewed, and by whom.
- **Claims, proceedings and known problems.** Earlier disputes, notices or issues that affect how prior matters are treated.
- **Current coverage.** Your expiring terms, including any fiduciary part of a management liability package.

## What affects your price

- **Number and type of plans.** More plans, and plans holding more assets, mean more exposure.
- **Who runs the plan.** Whether decisions rest with a committee or one person, and how they are overseen, matters to underwriters.
- **Limits and retention.** Higher limits cost more, and accepting a higher retention can bring the premium down.
- **Administration errors included.** Covering administrative mistakes as well as fiduciary-breach claims changes the proposal.
- **Earlier problems.** Prior proceedings and known issues can lead to exclusions or a higher price.

## Coverage

## Common questions

### Does fiduciary liability pay the benefits my plan owes?

No. Coverage for a mistake in plan administration doesn’t mean the policy pays benefits the plan already owes.

### Isn’t this included in D&O?

Not necessarily. Benefit-plan protection can be a separate part of a management liability package, so we check which parts each quote includes.

### Who counts as a fiduciary?

A job title doesn’t decide it. Describe what each person does for the plan and we make sure the quote names the right people.

### Can my benefits broker place fiduciary liability too?

They can. Spot works alongside brokers and takes no commissions on premiums, so you can keep your benefits broker or choose another.
