# Get fidelity bond quotes with Spot

Tell your Spot team whose money and property your people handle, and we prepare the submission brokers use to quote fidelity coverage.

- Whose property your people handle, identified up front
- Business, client and benefit-plan interests quoted separately
- Keep your broker or switch, with no commissions on premiums

## How it works

- **Say whose property your people handle.** List what employees touch: your company’s cash and inventory, client property and benefit-plan funds. Your Spot team keeps each owner separate.
- **Name the people with access.** We write down who handles money and property, including temporary workers, since the quote defines who counts.
- **Brokers take it to market.** We work with brokers to request bonds or employee-dishonesty policies, and follow up on what insurers ask about your procedures.
- **Check each interest is protected.** Compare what each proposal covers for your business, your clients and any benefit plan, and whether a required bond form is met.

## What you’ll need

- **Your business’s money and inventory.** The funds and stock employees handle, which the quote should name.
- **Client property.** Property belonging to clients that your workers can access.
- **Benefit-plan assets.** Plans you manage, since an ERISA plan has its own fidelity bond requirement.
- **People who handle funds or property.** Employees, temporary workers and others, described by what they handle.
- **Controls over money handling.** Approvals and separation of duties that underwriters ask about.
- **Prior losses.** Past thefts or dishonest acts and how they were found.
- **Requirements from a client or plan.** Any contract or plan rule that sets the bond form or amount.

## What affects your price

- **How much people handle.** More money and property in staff hands means more exposure.
- **How many people have access.** A larger group handling funds raises the risk.
- **Whose property is covered.** Protecting client or plan interests, as well as your own, adds to the quote.
- **Limit and deductible.** Higher limits cost more, and a higher deductible can lower the price.
- **Controls and loss history.** Safeguards on handling money, and past thefts, shape the price.

## Common questions

### Is a fidelity bond the same as a surety bond?

No. Fidelity concerns loss from dishonest acts by employees. A surety bond guarantees an obligation to another party.

### Does fiduciary liability replace the plan’s fidelity bond?

No. Fiduciary liability is for claims about breaches of responsibility. An ERISA fidelity bond protects the plan against fraud or dishonesty.

### Is this the same as crime insurance?

They overlap on employee theft. Spot has a separate crime page, and we compare both when you need broader theft and fraud protection.

### Can my broker arrange a fidelity bond?

Yes. Spot works alongside brokers and takes no commissions on premiums, and helps you move to another broker if you want.
