## How it works

- **Tell us what you hold and for whom.** Say whether you hold digital assets for yourself, keep them for customers or provide custody services. Your Spot team asks who controls the keys.
- **Map wallets and custodians.** We write down your wallets, storage arrangements and any outside custodian, and the legal entity for each.
- **Brokers take it to market.** We work with brokers to request proposals from specialty insurers, and follow up on their questions about custody.
- **Check who each policy protects.** See whether each proposal insures you or only a custodian, which wallets it names and how it values assets and treats lost keys.

- **Assets you hold.** The kinds of digital assets and their value.
- **Legal entities.** The entity that holds the assets, since the insured entity has to match.

- **Protections included.** Theft, key loss and business liability are different parts, each with a cost.
- **Limits and valuation terms.** Higher limits cost more, and how assets are valued changes what a claim pays.

## Common questions

### Does my custodian’s insurance protect me?

Not necessarily. That policy may protect the custodian rather than you, so we help establish whose assets are insured and how a customer loss would be paid.

### Does theft cover include a lost private key?

Not automatically. The insured wallets, cause of loss and valuation terms decide whether it fits.

### Is this the same as cyber insurance?

No. Digital-asset coverage addresses assets in custody and related liability. Spot has a separate cyber page, and we compare both when you need them.

### Can my broker place digital-asset coverage?
