# Get cyber insurance quotes with Spot

Your Spot team writes up your systems, data and security controls, so brokers can request cyber quotes without a new questionnaire each time.

- Your security controls described once, not per application
- Response, recovery and liability limits lined up quote by quote
- Keep your broker or switch, with no commissions on premiums

## How it works

- **Tell us what you run and hold.** List your systems, the customer data you store and the outside services you depend on. Your Spot team asks which operations would stop if they went down.
- **We write up your security controls.** Your backups, access controls, software updates, staff training and incident-response plan go into the submission as you actually run them.
- **Brokers request quotes.** We work with brokers to take the submission to cyber insurers, and we follow up when an underwriter asks for more detail.
- **See what each quote would pay.** Each proposal’s separate limits for response, recovery, interruption and liability sit next to what you pay first, so the same headline limit doesn’t hide a gap.

## What you’ll need

- **Multi-factor authentication.** Where it’s required: email, remote access, admin accounts and the systems that hold customer data.
- **Backups and recovery.** How your data is backed up, where copies are kept and how you would restore affected systems.
- **Endpoint protection.** Whether endpoint detection and response or similar tools run on your computers and servers.
- **Revenue.** Annual revenue, and how much of it depends on systems that need to be online to sell or deliver.
- **Records you hold.** The kinds of customer or employee data you store, such as payment details or personal information, and roughly how much.
- **Outside services you depend on.** Hosting, payroll and payment providers that hold your data or run your operations.
- **Incident-response plan.** Who you would call, how you’d notify customers and whether the plan has been tried.
- **Customer contract requirements.** Any cyber coverage your customers ask for, so quotes are measured against it from the start.

## What affects your price

- **Security controls.** Insurers weigh controls like multi-factor authentication, backups and endpoint protection when they decide whether to quote and at what price.
- **Revenue and data held.** More revenue and more sensitive records mean more to lose in an incident, and that shows in the premium.
- **Limits and retention.** Larger limits cost more, and a bigger retention, what you pay first, can lower the premium.
- **Dependence on systems and vendors.** A business that stops selling when a hosted system goes down has more interruption exposure than one that doesn’t.
- **Incident history.** Past incidents and the way they were handled are part of what underwriters review.

## Common questions

### What will insurers ask about our security?

Expect questions on backups, access controls, software updates, staff training and your incident-response plan. Your Spot team helps you describe them as you really run them.

### Will a cyber quote cover money sent to a fraudster?

Not automatically. Funds-transfer fraud can fall outside cyber terms, so we ask about it in each proposal and check whether crime coverage should sit beside it.

### Is cyber the same as tech E&O?

No. Tech E&O covers mistakes in the products or services you sell. Cyber addresses incidents like a data breach. A package can include both, and we check which one a quote has.

### Can my broker use the security write-up?

Yes. We hand it to your broker for the application and take no commissions on premiums. If you’d rather place cyber elsewhere, we can help you switch brokers.
