[Get Started](https://app.spot.insure/signup?coverage=general-liability&industry=office-management&icp=small-business). Spot is not an insurance carrier and takes no commissions on premiums; you can keep your broker or switch.

## How Spot helps

1. **Check your lease’s insurance requirements.** Send the lease or coworking agreement. Spot reads its insurance requirements, compares them with your current policies and tells you what’s missing before move-in.
2. **Tell us about your office and equipment.** Your Spot team lists each location, visitor activity, equipment value and piece of off-site property, so the submission reflects the office you really run.
3. **Compare a package policy with separate policies.** We work with brokers to take your submission to market, then show what a business owner’s policy includes next to separate property and liability proposals, including what must be added.
4. **Get your landlord a certificate.** When the landlord asks for a certificate of insurance or an additional insured endorsement, message your Spot team. They get the certificate ready and work with your broker to request the endorsement from your insurer.

## Who we help

- **Office managers at growing companies.** You’re the one asked for a certificate when the landlord, a vendor or a coworking space needs proof.
- **Operators of coworking and shared spaces.** Visitors, vendors and events change what a liability quote needs to describe.
- **Teams moving or opening a new office.** A lease and an equipment list set what has to be scheduled, and where.
- **Companies keeping prototypes, records or inventory on site.** Property kept at the office needs its own values and covered causes.

## Coverage

- [Equipment breakdown](https://spot.insure/insurance/equipment-breakdown)
- [Cyber liability](https://spot.insure/insurance/cyber)

## When to get this coverage

- **You’re signing or renewing a lease.** The lease sets what your landlord needs to see. Check that the right entity, locations and wording appear in the proposal.
- **You’re joining a coworking space or hosting an event.** Visitors, vendors and event plans belong in the general liability description along with any exclusions.
- **A server, HVAC unit or access system could stop work.** Equipment breakdown is separate from property. Ask which equipment and causes are named, and whether income loss or extra expense is addressed.
- **Employee or customer records live in the office.** Connected access and business systems bring cyber questions: response costs, vendor-held data, waiting periods and sublimits.
- **You’re weighing a package against separate policies.** A packaged quote can be easier to manage. Check what’s actually included and whether it fits your operations and locations.

## Common questions

Also known as office insurance, small office insurance, office space insurance, office contents insurance and workspace insurance.

### What does office insurance usually include?

Many offices start with a business owner’s policy, which bundles general liability and property, then add equipment breakdown for servers and building systems and cyber for company data. Your lease sets the limits, and Spot checks each quote against it.

### Does the lease mean we must buy a specific policy?

No. A lease sets requirements a policy has to meet, not a particular product. Spot compares your policies with the lease wording and tells you where they fall short.

### Is a laptop or prototype covered away from the office?

Not by default. Property terms depend on scheduled locations and covered causes. Spot asks brokers how each proposal treats property that travels.

### What should we send about the office?

Send your lease or coworking agreement, your locations, an equipment and inventory list, details of visitors and events, and your current policies.

### Our landlord’s certificates go through our current broker. Will Spot coordinate with them?

Yes. Spot works alongside your broker on lease checks, certificates and renewals, or helps you switch to a different one. None of Spot’s fee comes from commissions on your premiums.
