# What Insurance Covers Invoice Fraud?

Crime coverage may apply to fake invoices when social-engineering or funds-transfer wording covers the employee’s payment and the fraud method.

A fake supplier invoice, altered bank details, and an unauthorized instruction sent directly to a bank are different fraud patterns. Chubb describes vendor impersonation under its social-engineering endorsement; a Travelers specimen separately defines funds-transfer fraud.

Ask whether changed payment instructions and employee-approved transfers are covered, and check verification requirements and limits. A billing error or genuine supplier dispute is not automatically an insured theft.
