# What Insurance Covers Equipment In Transit?

Inland-marine or transit coverage may protect equipment while it moves, if the equipment, route, and limits are covered.

A contractor’s tools in a truck and inventory shipped to a buyer are different exposures. Equipment coverage can apply to scheduled items in transit; cargo coverage insures goods in shipment for a covered interest.
