# Does Tech E&O Cover Downtime?

Tech E&O may cover a customer’s loss from your technology service downtime; your own lost revenue needs separate interruption coverage.

Your own lost revenue during an outage is a separate first-party loss and may need a qualifying business-interruption extension.

Check the outage trigger, whose interruption is insured, uptime promises, waiting period, cloud-provider exclusions, restoration, and defense costs. Review treatment of service credits and liquidated damages.
